Keep in mind what it is– this is a bar… Easy-going, borderline-divey atmosphere, crave-able, deep-fried appetizers, and a decent selection of beers. A good place to grab a local brew. Stick with the apps though(esp wings!) — sandwich options are meh. Service has always been good, and trivia night is worth it.

Amazing fried pickles and potato wontons! We came here on a Tuesday where apps were half off and we had an amazing experience. They’re drinks are also delicious.

I’ve been here twice. The first experience was not great. The food was OK, many beers they listed they did not have and the service was lacking. The second time I went, the service was much better. I ordered a beer that was not commonly ordered and was invited to have open discussion with the waitstaff about my opinion on it. It was wing night so we tried 3 types of wings. Chubby’s, Honey BBQ, and Ghost pepper. Each was good but I would return just for more of the Ghost Pepper wings.

I have mixed feelings about this place… we were in the area from south NJ and needed to eat before heading home. This was the only place in the area that was open. We went in and the bar was full(it was 3pm) and just about everyone was drunk. Music was loud. We sat down anyway, and were kind of hesitant. Bartender came over and said«Sorry kids, it’s only going to get louder.» Kids? Okay… we immediately felt like we weren’t welcome. Regardless, we loved the music and when the food came out we were won over. I had the grilled chicken sandwich which came with fries and a pickle, my friend had the fish tacos with fries, and my daughter had chicken fingers with fries. My sandwich was fantastic! And I tried my friends fish tacos and it was equally as great. Even though we didn’t feel welcome from the staff, we’d come back just for the food!

Friday night bomb. There was supposed to be a country band playing at 9:30. At 9:50pm Mötley Crüe on the jukebox and no band set up. Ok, I can live with that. I like rock & roll. There’s enough room for a pool table, but they have this little bumper pool table set up instead. What the??? Is there a big draw for bumper pool? The food is ok. Unless you are in a salad mood, your choices are fried everything. Pickles, cheese, fish, chicken, you name it-they’ll fry it up for you. Chubby sauce is a home run. Let’s get to the crowd. Trailer park in their Sunday best dry humping at the bar. I’ll pass… The extra 2 stars are for the sweet waitress, good margaritas, and decent junk food.

In response to a request from another bar owner nearby for more detail, I update my review as follows: This bad review stems from multiple visits across multiple days of the week over the last year. In my opinion, the food is not great, the drinks are consistently watered down, the service consistently slow and unorganized, and the atmosphere in not nearly nice or unique enough for me to want to put up with the above. The pickle could be something great with not much more effort on the part of the bartenders and servers. But until then, I don’t recommend it.

My favorite bar. I am a local regular. Bartenders are great, they know my drink order — slightly dirty Tito’s martini before switching to Pinot Grigio. Makes me feel special LOL. I am there most Wednesdays for trivia night, which has a decent local following, mostly the same teams every week. As for food, appetizers are the way to go. Fried pickles are AMAZING. So are the loaded tots and potato wontons.

I love this place. It’s a nice local bar with good food and drinks. I’ve been there a few times for lunch after the beach and its a quiet little place. At night it becomes a different place. I went on a Saturday night for food and drinks and it was packed. I’ve always had a good experience.

Love going to the pickle. It’s a great place to grab a beer and they pour them correctly, even a guiness(I’m a stickler for that). I usually don’t return to a place that can’t even do that. Love getting the 50⁄50 burger and potato wontons. Really friendly staff and owners and great service.

Sunday 90’s band is awesome! They draw a good crowd with a great playlist. The food was good as far as bar food goes. Fried pickles, chicken fingers, and burgers were all really good. Drinks were reasonable and it was a great little place. They had plenty of tables but they were mostly all missing stools. I guess it makes it easier to get around when it gets crowded but when it was wide open it was a little odd. Still a great little spot.

Walked in expecting a dive bar… was pleasantly surprised to see a nice bar with an interesting menu with good fried food. As the night went on it became extremely packed, and we had a blast enjoying the 90s band playing. The only downfall was the extremely intoxicated bartender who was pretty much incompetent. She was incapable of taking drink orders, and apparently paying our tab was too much for her to handle. Great bar, I will be back but hopefully not with that lady behind the bar.

This is a great bar especially in the summer. Located right under the bridge in Highlands before going over into Sandy Hook area. Nothing like a few drinks to walk onto the beach tipsy! We went on a Wednesday for trivia. Very tame and enjoyable atmosphere. Even spotted some families in the mix. Some of us got the 5 $ burger special and thought it was a steal — very good. 2.50 $ for a pint of Yuengling on Wednesdays too, you really can’t beat it. Had a great time, all the guys there are very laid back and the place is surprisingly clean. Will definitely be going back soon.

Been here twice, once at the bar, once takeout. The boneless wings, and their custom yummy sauces, can’t go wrong! Fun beers on tap. Seasonal choices. Crafts too. FULLBAR. The fried green tomato grilled cheese on sourdough bread is my favorite! The fries were yummy too. A great place to catch a game or go out on a warm summer night! A great local spot.

We have passed by more times than we can count and always say we’ll stop in «next time.» Well, we finally stopped in around 5pm on a Friday and instantly liked the vibe. Outdoor seating, a big bar area, pub food and specials. Ordered the sampler app platter for $ 11.95… not many pieces in the platter. 3 small mozzarella sticks, 3 small fried pickles and 4 tiny mac n cheese bites. We shared a bacon bleu cheese burger and it was average bar food quality. It was fine. Monday — ½ off bar pies Tuesday– 50 cent wings and karaōke Wednesday– $ 5 burgers and trivia Thursday– beat the clock and open mic Friday– band Saturday– ufc Sunday– band We like the general feel of this place; However, the sampler platter was a rip off and the bartender was too occupied talking about her wedding to two other patrons to serve us. She was friendly when she came around but the whole time we were there she chatted about her wedding to the only 2 other patrons at the bar, and it was difficult to get her attention when trying to order another round of drinks. We will be back to give this place another chance because we really WANT to like it here, and it’s a nice change from Windansea and Inlet Café.

Craig you did a great job! So one of my absolute favorite bartenders left Hoboken over a year ago to buy into this place. I finally get a chance to check it out and like I expected… it was good times. Revolving beer taps manned by gracious and attentive bartenders with excellent food all at great prices with a big outdoor space = win! Looks small from the outside but really opens up when you get inside — you’ll find a great example of what a divey sports bar should be. +1 for the soccer goals in the bathroom like at Mulligans… a nice touch!
