Ate there yesterday. Everything excellent — guacamole, salsa, enchiladas, fajitas(steak and chicken), chicken quesadilla. chips, service. Cheese sauce good — a little salty.

We recently had takeout in Highlands from El Azteca. The takeout included a pork enchilada plate and a chicken enchilada plate. Both were very good, with a nice mix of flavors. Considerably better than the average Mexican dishes in this area. For tony Highlands, which in summer is Buckhead North, it is quite reasonably priced. The two takeout orders, plus ceviche and iced tea at the restaurant, were $ 29 before tip.

We’ve been 4 – 5 times over the past few years and the quality is hit and miss. Wish I could offer a recommendation but there is inconsistency in the same dish visit by visit. Maybe drink more margaritas?

Very reasonable and good quality food. Menu was impressive. Much more than usual«Mexican» food. Service was attentive. Location isn’t great, but a nice place for a quick lunch/dinner.

One of my favorite places in Highlands! Moderately priced Mexican, lots of choices, and large portion sizes. The food was good, and my only complaint was that the margaritas were extremely weak. I will definitely go back on my next trip to Highlands!

Food quality seems poor. We did not consider this to be good food for the Highlands area. Service was also slow and our last visit was food served lukewarm. We got up and left our food on the table

Pretty good for your standard Mexican foodery. They have a nice selection of mojitos and margaritas. The food was good and the prices were affordable given the area. The service was courteous and efficient. Nice family environment.

We went el Aztecs tonight and the food was excellent. Service was great also. My wife had a veggie burrito and I had the marinated pork plate and both were delicious — in fact we thought both were better than our Mexican restaurants in Asheville. Our service was also very good.

Being from Texas I was a little weary of trying Mexican up here in Highlands… What a pleasant surprise! Great margaritas, authentic Mexican, good service. Highly recommend the fajitas, top shelf margarita, and jalapeño dip. Give it a shot — you won’t be disappointed!

Highlands is a very up scale place with some very«5» places so I can’t give this place the highest rating. It’s apples and oranges. BUT for an essentially Tex-Mex place it deserves a very high recommendation. This place is not Lakeside or Madisons or Wolfgangs but it’s highly thought of by locals. The service is good, the music is authentic, the price is low! Try the poblanos if you’re hungry. Your local place doesn’t offer them. This is the best non-elitist place in Highlands.

An unique little Mexican restaurant near Bryson’s. The food here was pretty decent. Service was a bit slow but the place is nicely decorated and furnished with a bar.
