Wow! This must be new management! This place is clean with excellent service!
I used to avoid this location, but something changed. El Pollo is great fast-​ish food that is satisfying and fresh! I will be coming back to this location more!
Kudos to the new employees and new management that has an old customer smiling again!

I never had a problem with this pollo loco it’s good pretty slow but the food quality is at its best for pollo loco overall I recommend it to anyone who wants a nice meal.

Has to be brand new management… .the place is spotless clean, all the employees are smiling and super helpful. They showed pride in their work. Made me smile.

These people can’t make up their mind with specials, please post specials or combos. They pick and choose when they to give out a special, bring back old management !

Not Good here at this location. The food is poorly put together. Taste is off. I get food falling apart. Service is bad. The line is long I’ve seen it stretch to the door due to the employees struggling behind the register unable to answer questions about the food they see for over 7 hours 5 – 7 days a week. The manager there is slow and provides bad service. The area is dangerous. Lots of cops, gangs, & junkies. The ghetto & HIGHLAND PARK for you all.

This place has changed and unfortunately it’s not for the better. The new ownership has resulted in inexperienced staff that don’t get your order correct. I don’t care how attentive the staff is or how good the food is if you don’t get the order right it’s all bad. Especially, if it’s a to go order and you don’t find out until you get home and unpack the food in front of your family only to realize someone is going hungry tonight.

Stopped by to pick up some dinner and the food was good! Chicken was delicious, BRC burrito was good too. No complaints.

The service here is excellent every time I’m here, which is often. Despite always being busy. The service is fast, pleasant and efficient. The salsa bar is always stocked. Now, the chicken is the absolutely the best that I have ever tried from any Pollo loco. Every time, cooked beautifully and full of flavor.

Yes, the El Pollo Loco sign doesn’t even light up anymore, but the store interior is relatively well maintained. Plus, I’m here for chicken, and chicken they have! It is lined up beautifully on three huge grills in an open kitchen.
We got there right at dinner rush on a Friday night, and the place was packed. The wait for the food was long, but all the workers seemed hard at work, and the cashier was pleasant and efficient, he even helped us newbies cut out our coupons.
They have a great salsa bar that was fully stocked. All the food were prepared well with fresh ingredients.
Only negative is the token for restroom. They should be free for customers, IMHO.

I went there today to pick up dinner with my daughter. When i asked for salsa cups i was told to use some which where in the counter used/​left behind by another customer. The manager refused give me two little cups for salsa and rather made he feel as if I was a thief. Not satisfied with belittling me they then asked to see my receipt to see if it validated the two cups. I could see the request being necessary but I was asked by the same employee who rang up my sale! At that point my blood sugar levels where making me feel sick. I didn’t want to get more angry and I asked for a refund. I was given a refund and when I asked for a receipt they said «no we can’t give it to you, it’s my recipe». The arguing over that continued until the main manager said «leave your wasting my time». We then called the store to attempt to resolve the situation and the manager again refused to listen to why I had asked for a refund and when I attempted to explain he said «yes I told you to because you were wasting my time». His name was Cruz I think I was so mad. I called the corporate office and gave them the information. So beware Don’t go here! Don’t go waste their time. «Customer service is not important to them. I wonder if this is how El Pollo Loco Corporate feels about its customers?

These workers are so lazy. They closed a half an hour early and laughed when we tried to go in. On a normal day they’re slow and they’re lines get really long. They charge to use the bathroom. Compared to other pollo loco’s this one is just mediocre.
Truly disappointed.

I have never had a pleasant experience at this El Pollo Loco and unfortunately the next closest one is too far otherwise I would drive there. The team that puts the meal together are always chit chatting or joking around and today was no exception. I went in to order 2 loco salads and it took 20 minutes. When my order was finally ready I let them know 20 minutes was way too much for 2 little salads and the girl handing me the food just smiles. It took another one of the girls to apologize. I was upset so I didn’t check what was to be a simple order 2 loco salads, one with creamy cilantro and the other with citrus dressing. I received 2 citrus dressing. I decided to call the survey line and halfway through the system had issues and stopped the survey. Its almost comical really. I can’t say the prices are a bargain either to keep me coming back so I think we’ll look for chicken elsewhere

Pollo Loco in Highland Park on Ave 60 and Fig. Great Food, BAD ATTITUDE and they want to charge you for the Extra Sauce that I ask to be place on the side that comes with the plate $ 1.00 more. Last week was $ 0.00 for Extra Sauce with out the Attitude. My Team of Guys will defenetly won’t come Back to this Establishment after today Bad Service & Experience…

Ya I agree w/​these reviews that service is terrible. I came in w/​a coupon for 12 piece chicken & salsa. I asked the cashier (this Caucasian guy, I think he’s the manager) if it comes w/​salsa. He said «it only comes w/​the chicken. You get the salsa over there.» His tone was very rude & he was condescending. The guy doesn’t smile, greet you or say thank you. He made my experience really bad & I will never go there again. Although the lady Isabella that handed me my order was very sweet & said «thank you, have a good day. «
I had such a bad experience that I called el pollo loco & made a complaint.

I love el pollo loco but this location has THE WORST SERVICE! I live 3 blocks away from this location, and honestly I rather drive to the Glendale location or the downtown la location.
Cleanliness: terrible! The lady who mops seems like she hates her job (obviously being 40something and stuck there), mops up everyone shoes, without saying excuse me. spreads the filth all over because that mop smells awful and looks extremely dirty.
Service: Horrible! The cashiers have attitudes constantly rolling their eyes, and if you don’t talk Spanish, guess what? they will talk shit about you. I do speak Spanish btw, but I don’t like speaking it. Period. And these incompetent ladies thinking «I no hablo español,» right there in my face and in Spanish talking shit about me. And I haven’t been the only victim of their shit talking they do it all the time!!!
Food freshness: disgusting! Eeeww!!! It’s gross!!! Just don’t. There pico de gallo always looks like it was saved up from the previous days. the guacamole sauce is too watery. The rice is bland with no flavor. the beans are alright, nothing to brag about. The chicken is either too burnt or/​and dry. The cilantro they put over your food is not washed properly and most Likely old too. And back to the chicken, Why I most definitely will not be back there, the guy who grills/​prepares the chicken has a constant itch in his balls because he scratches at it continuously, and I never see him go wash his hands. He could cough, sneeze, wipe the sweat of his face n never washes his hands!!! F*cking Gross!!!
This place is a dump! When I went to complain about this to the manager he told me its not true, WTF!!! Are you freaking serious??? I’ve seen this shit with my own eyes and this ass has the audacity to tell me that I’m lying? This location should be shut down!

I love El Pollo Loco but really this location is terrible and i will not be returning to this one for sure! They didn’t want to honor any of my coupons then when they did finally after arguing with the girl over my printed free guacamole and chips they give me this tiny 2 oz. cup which was more the size of the sample cups i usually can get from the markets. The salsa bar was very messy and they need to clean it up and the parking lot is madness!

I’ve been coming here since I was small. Even after all these years, I can’t really say much about it. The place is okay, the service varies on the workers, and the food is decent for the price. The only reason I put such a low rating is because of the better Pollo Loco’s I’ve been to.
My favorite thing from here is the chicken tostada… It’s f*cken delicious, especially when you’re starving. The quesadilas are good, as well as the churros. The chicken is okay in my opinion. El poblano is pretty good. There mashed potatoes are pretty good, but I enjoy the ones from Popeye’s way more. The other things that are really good is the salsas’…and there free.

I’ve been here since I was a little kid and if you have read my other reviews I do state that chain restaurants are not my top choice when I have the hunger. Also, I don’t rate them that high. This place is no different but I did give them 3 stars because the food has been consistent, well isn’t that what chains are suppose to be all about?
There are a ton of Mexican restaurants around the area and they will serve you pretty darn good food, so I suggest check those places out first but if you don’t want to take the chance then this place is okay.

If you can go to a different location, I would. They have the same food at all locations.
The chain has good (for take out) tortilla soup and the loco salad is a good choice for a low cal meal with the avocado salsa as dressing.
But this location is not as clean and organized as it should be and the parking is a pain in the neck. There is one in Pasadena that is pretty nice.
