Dong Fong Restaurant

Quite honestly, this the worst chinese takeout I’ve ever had. I’ve ordered from this establishment twice.
The first time I ordered, I had the house special soup. Nothing to write home about, but there definitely wasn’t any flavor. The main problem I had with this visit was walking into their restaurant. The place had a funny smell, the decorum was atrocious, and the service was not welcoming.
The second time I ordered, I asked for a BBQ spare rib combo platter. This was at the end of the night, and I received the dish (to go), in about 5 minutes. It does not take 5 minutes to cook ribs. I’m only going to assume there was a microwave involved. The sauce used for the ribs had a weird tangy taste, and I could not finish it. The rice was nothing special, but the eggroll was unbelievably greasy. I could not get halfway through this dish before just tossing it in the trash.
I will not return here, and I definitely would not recommend anyone to either. These guys are either hemorrhaging money, or the clientele keeps coming back because there are no other Chinese places in the area.

The food were extremely salty, ordered 4 dishes and one soup, barely touched! !!! Save your money for something else, even the fast food is better than this!!!

AWFUL! The service sucks and the food lacks flavor. The pricing is way too high for the quality of food. This place only stays open because they have a captive audience.

My stomach is still upset from my meal at Dong Fong yesterday. Save yourself from prolonged gastro-​misery by never eating the food from this place.

This place is so ratchet! Every time I go in to order take out, the restaurant is empty and it smells bad! The woman is so rude! We asked for a beer to drink while we waited and she opened up a hot beer bottle and served it to us. Then we asked for a cold one… I know she charged us for the hot and cold beer together. This food always makes me sick too. I’m never ordering from there again!

my dilemma is, do you have to buy something to voice your option? we walked in and we go to sit down, Ms. Rude-​i-​licious tells us we can’t sit there, to go sit on the other side. buffet lunch didn’t look great, unfresh. turn away, save your money and your health .Its the only time I will recommend you eat McDonald’s instead.

The woman who takes the orders is Professor Rude, teaching rudeness 101 @ West Point. After dealing with someone like that, who cares WHAT THE FOOD TASTES LIKE? Their butterfly shrimp is about the most vile thing I have ever eaten. Avoid!

Food is ok. It’s difficult when NYC is close and so good. I think better hospitality would give them a better rating. They can be quite rude at times. Delivery takes forever.

I don’t know what the other two reviews are talking about.
I’ve been there several times and the food was actually quite good IMO. The portions were large and the prices pretty reasonable. The aesthetics weren’t superb, but the place was clean and the service was friendly.
Probably not a date venue, but certainly an acceptable place for a casual business type lunch if you are working in or visiting the West Point area.

It is probably a good idea to avoid eating here at all cost. The food is very disappointing.
