I had been getting chinese food from this place on and off since High School(15 years ago). It used to be named Mr. Lu’s, but changed to Dragon Wok for reasons I don’t know probably 10 years ago. The staff didn’t change, and at the time, the food didn’t change at all. The buffet was busy so the food stayed hot, and you got a great value for $ 5 at lunch time. Limited selection, but you were fed and got tea with your order. Dinner-time take out was always good and orders were reliably correct and clearly fresh cooked. There has been a very noticeable decline over the past few years, REALLY noticeable. First off… time, and what I’m guessing less than standard cleaning, has really destroyed this restaurants interior. Everything feels greasy or sticky. The furniture hasn’t changed… it is probably time to at least change tables. At this point, I don’t think they will become ungreasy. This is not a problem at most other chinese places in the area. I have always noticed it is either HOT as can be in there, or cold. I don’t think they run their HVAC, which means the air does not circulate, and the grease particles in the air settle onto surfaces. The place needs serious ventilation, and a deep thorough cleaning. Second… food quality and prep has gone down, prices have gone up. Standbys like General Tso’s chicken haven’t been crispy the last couple times I went. Sweet and Sour chicken had a dry interior, definitely needed all the sauce I could give it. Their crispy noodles can be old and stale at times. This is a cheap thing that should be made at least daily. It’s a roulette whether you get it fresh or not. I’d love it if this place could return to what it was, but it needs help and some inspiration from someone. I write this hoping that someone who cares will take note and make some changes if they want to stay in business.

Yeah big mistake, the floors and tables are sticky and I’m sure the buffet items were time and temperature abused because they were ice cold and looked like they had been sitting out for hours. Next thing they need to invest in would be air freshener because that rotten fish smell was very potent. Horrible meal to say the least and I won’t be returning. I wouldn’t waste your time or money here.

This place used to be amazing, I’m not sure what happened. The food is mediocre at best, i miss the old Dragon Wok

I am sad to say this, because we had been getting food here for 10 + years, but just hadn’t been in the mood for Chinese for quite a while. I had mentioned to my family that I thought the quality was getting bad the last time or 3 that we ordered. But my Mom was visiting from FL and wanted Chinese. Where do I begin?: 1. My Mom ordered Shrimp and steamed veggies — it was 75 to 80℅ extremely undercooked broccoli — for $ 11.252. The spare ribs that my son and I ordered were FATTY, some undercooked, some burnt to a crisp! How do you manage that in the same order? 3. The wontons in the wonton soup were soggy, and the pieces of pork looked practically SHAVED off the Pork Loin, instead of the thick shoestrings they used to be! And the«porkless«fried rice? Greasy, stiff, old looking, etc. What more can I say? WHAT A TERRIBLEWASTEOFMONEY!!! That’s the LASTDOLLAR of mine that they get!!! They’re getting the 1 Star for nostalgia!

We had lunch here. I like their buffet. Food is always good. We never leave there hungry. I love their hot & sour soup & their sweet & sour chicken. Lots of different dishes to choose from. I love their crab rangoons.

I don’t agree with the other reviews either. We have been going to Dragon Wok for 10 years. The food is always consistent and it is always good. My family loves the family that runs this establishment. They are terrific people!

We’ve eaten here as a family for over 10 years and this might be our last visit. What’s up with the state of Chinese food in High Point these days? I’d rather pay more or receive less rather than get lots of crappy food. My Veggie Delight was good, but the rest of my crew is complaining loudly and graphically about the meat dishes. Chicken is dry and stringy, beef is chewy and greasy, pork tastes«weird.»

I get takeout from here when I am in town. Food has been always been good. Little hard to understand the people on the phone. So order with the menu. I have also had the buffet, which is a good value. I have never had any qualms about eating here.

I will not be returning to Dragon Wok. Each time I have been in this location it is about 82 degrees. Literally. I looked at the thermostat. Is the AC broken? Do they just enjoy sweating and making their customers suffer? The food was horrible and the owner was rude as could be about ordering. He acted as if he couldn’t be bothered to answer the questions we had. The tables were sticky as if they hadn’t been sprayed and wiped down in weeks. Totally disgusting store.

Unfortunately, we tried Dragon Wok last night. When we got there we were the only ones there. Placed order 3 different groups came in ordered and got their food 20 minutes before we did. Wish we had left then. I ordered spicy & it was not only cold but very bland. Egg roll was at least 3 days old, spring roll was all grease, like it was put in cold grease & it absorbed it all. Besides that, the place was extremely dirty, table was sticky & dirty & trash can smeeled like old fish. Disgusting meal & restaurant.

Rude owners and no customer service. Dinner was blah. I ordered a schezwan chicken dinner and a sweet tea. The dinner was blah, not much flavor. When I went to fill my tea glass there was very little tea in the urn. It didnt even fill my ice filled cup ¾ of the way with me tilting the urn almost sideways. I told the lady at the front counter that there was no tea, that there was not enough for a full cup and the urn was empty. She said yeah and pointed at it. I finished eating in hopes of filling my cup and/or getting a refill when the urn was filled. That never happened. When I went back to the counter and again asked for sweet tea. She said no more sweet tea. I stated that again that I never did get a full glass and wanted a refill. She said no more sweet tea. I asked for another beverage like coke or sprite. She said«it costs one dollar and seven cents if you want coke.» I stated tha I would not pay for a refill since I never got a full cup and there wasnt enough tea for a full glass. She again said«one dollar seven cents for a coke.» Just plain greedy and knew what she was doing. Beware and check the tea urn before you order tea.
