Didn’t go in for a long time because I thought it was a sushi place based on the name. It’s not. SO delicious but REALLY expensive! Would eat there again! Definitely recommend!

I ate here with a friend the other night. Atmosphere: Really cute… smelled like incense(which I didn’t like that much), had big pictures of people like Mother Teresa on the walls. Service: Extremely slow. I would say it took us 30 – 45 minutes to get our entrée. They don’t give bread or anything while we wait. But, they were exceptionally nice so that was a big plus. Food: I had shrimp mac and cheese and wanted to love it since shrimp and mac and cheese are probably my favorite foods in the world. But, the shrimp had a weird chlorine taste. And the macaroni and cheese also had a bizarre taste(maybe it was the truffle oil?) Cost: It was $ 25 or $ 29 for that mac and cheese. $ 20-$ 25 for a hamburger(I can’t remember how much). I thought it was expensive. Would have preferred going back to Market Bistro in Jericho for a similar price. I love the fact that they service organic, grass fed foods and are anti-GMO and really want to support them. I love that it felt like a more spiritual place. But, as a Unilocaler, I can’t lie. I wouldn’t go back. It was pretty expensive and I didn’t enjoy the experience all that much.

Zero stars if possible. And I will be updating this with a substantial write up. Horrifying Mother’s Day brunch with a long wait for food and then an over cooked meal only to be replaced by an under cooked one. Then when I tried to pickup the dish I was severely burned with no warning from some moron food runner that the dish was hot. Not once did the manager come over after waitress was informed. They gave me some ice and tried to pacify me with a $ 20 gift certificate. Told them to keep it. Still no interaction with manager. Completely poor and disturbing experience. If they showed even an ounce of concern I wouldn’t take this to the next level. Rest assured this will be taken to a legal level. Completely and utterly incomprehensible as to their actions and lack of concern for an injured patron. I work with my hands for a living and my fiancée is writing this due to my injury. I’m far from done and will update this as soon as possible. STAYFARFARAWAYFROMTHISMESSOF A SOCALLEDBISTRO. Follow up. There were multiple people running around asking tables how their meal was. Never once did anyone come to the table after the burn happened. Your approach to this issue is absurd. All of a sudden you are concerned. Good luck. Trying to minimize my injury on here and Facebook further prove your lack of concern. This matter has been referred to my attorney.

Brunch is amazing! Attentive servers, three course prefix menu, and a variety of drinks available for less than $ 30. I think it’s the only truly bottomless place in Naussau county. It’s a gem for brunch!

West East is one of the few places you can find local sourced & organic food at a restaurant on Long Island. Beyond that. Flavors are amazing. The gumbo is insane. And the owners passion for both food and wellness leave you with a delicious meal where quality is never compromised.

Cool place with an uncommon but interesting Indian-inspired menu. Food was expertly prepared. And the service was friendly. I shall return.

Fell in love with this place from day one. First thing that got my attention was that they offered GMO free/organic/pasture raised food. That’s a huge deal in my book. Second was the décor. With large paintings of prominent peace promoting figures on the wall and ethnic trinkets all around, the vibe was very laid back. I’ve been back three times and the service was always spectacular. Not to mention how delicious the food was. My favorite dish was the Bombay gumbo… oh and everything on the menu! Seriously, you can’t go wrong.

Wow this menu is AMAZING! The Branzino and Halibut were prepared perfectly. The fried rice, ramen, pork belly, and lamb are on a whole other level. I absolutely cannot wait to come back here. I can’t wait for the new location to open! Make sure to get the Kulfi, best choice you’ll ever make.

My Wife and I went their last night. We only found this place because we checked Living Social. It is to 100% something different in Nassau County. Small restaurant in orange colors with pictures of some of the greatest people in world history. This night Steven was our waiter. He guided us very well trough the night and the Dinner. West East has a mixture out Indian, Asian and American farm to table cuisine. We started of whit pot sticker and potato slider(so good!!!) than we had the kimchi shrimp and the beef burger(that’s the only minus I will give i ordered medium rare and got a well done, but still was a great dish) both of them went really great dishes and we enjoyed the dinner. The final end was the crème brûlée which you shouldn’t miss at at all. All at all 5 stars for the night and the restaurant. Thanks

I really wanted to like this place. Great concept, fantastic ambiance, plenty of interesting vegetarian options. Every seat was packed, a good sign. Live music from a guitar player/singer on Saturday night. Things started to go downhill with the confused servers. Someone took our order… Then someone else came right after offering menus and to take our order. The wine came after some time. The appetizer, just spring rolls, came a few song’s time later. They were ok, good sauce, still feeling good about our choice. We are very patient people. But almost an hour from ordering… Still no entrees. Our original server asked if we were waiting for our check. Um, no, just for our meals. Shortly after, the food arrived, severely undercooked. Ever have al-dente risotto? Well, this wasn’t, it needed another 10 minutes and a cup of liquid to be al-dente. And to be called butternut squash risotto, and only find a few tiny diced pieces in with other vegetables. I didn’t send it back, since it was so late, but I never had the chance as no one ever checked on us. My husband’s Burmese Eggplant curry was not curry… Just spiced undercooked eggplant chunks over rice, no other elements involved. I looked forward to dessert but we gave up by then. My jaw hurt from crunchy rice and I preferred to get home and open a pint of ice cream rather than wait another 30 minutes for a piece of cake.

I’ve eaten here several times and I will return again. My most recent visit was last night. My sister and I came for dinner and the big bonus for her is that the restaurant is gluten free. Rather than bread on the table we had a bowl of kale chips. We both ordered soups. She had a pumpkin soup and I had a Bombay gumbo. it was an Indian Cajun fusion that left me very satisfied. My sister’s curry chicken was very good, but oh my was the lamb shank I ordered amazing. It was flavorful with pomegranate seeds and I was able to cut the meat with a fork. It killed me to not pick up the bone, chew off the remaining meat and suck the marrow out of it. If you love food, I recommend coming here. Last night was not the first time I visited. I’ve been in the dining room when the owner Jay was present. First it was a weeknight and he chatted with my friend and me and then offered us each a complimentary glass of wine. Because of the food, the atmosphere, and the great service we knew we had to come back, and we returned a few months later with another friend. That night I had a groupon for four or more but we were three. They said it was all good as long as we ordered four entrees. Hello family style. Three of us, four dishes and a bottle of wine. All four dishes were amazing. I only remember that one was venison, but all four were great. When we were done eating, Jay approached the table. He had a bottle in each hand and explained that because he was serving local produce and meats, why not local booze? He had a local bourbon and a local rum he wanted us to sample. They were good, but again, so was the conversation. The hospitality alone should earn this place five stars, but I love the food too. I can’t wait to come back.

Such mixed reviews on Unilocal it’s hard to tell the real ones from the fake ones. Well, here’s a real one. West East Bistro is ok… just ok and nothing memorable. I didn’t experience bad service… in fact the service was excellent. I didn’t experience a long delay to receive my food… the pace was perfect. I didn’t experience a waiter who was untrained or not knowledgeable about the menu… he knew it all. I didn’t experience bad wine pours… they were the same as any other restaurant and they actually had an excellent selection by the glass.(of which the server was knowledgeable about as well) What I did experience was a creative farm-to-table menu that’s pretty organic or sustainable just not executed all that well. The chef definitely needs to learn how to develop deep flavors but then show some restraint with flavor/texture combinations. The concept is great and I’m willing to pay extra for it… but not until the food improves a bit. Again… not bad, just not memorable or worth returning to.

Looking for something different in Nassau County? Here is an opportunity to try something unique. Eccentric, daring, exotic, almost gluten-free are some of the adjectives that come to mind. Take a peak at their menu and you will see what I am referring to. Great selection of wines. Very interesting dessert menu as well. This is worth a try. My only complaint is the location out in the middle of Hicksville/Bethpage industrial area. The food is delicious but the location is not. That being said, the trip is worth it– again for a different dining experience. 5 stars as the food is excellent as was the experience.

Tried this place again two more times because of all the great reviews. Yet again it failed both times. Service is bad and it is inexcusably slow. Both times we visited this month we were only one of two tables there so I can’t understand why the terrible service. The food is overpriced, the portions small and it varies between tasteless or spicy hot. In this visit and my last, I ordered the $ 14 tuna for lunch. It was flavorless, too small of a portion to be considered an entrée and the avocado varied between some pieces unripe and others rotten. Awful. Try Tula’s in Bayshore instead. You’ll easily pay half the price and receive 3x the portions of actually tasty healthy food.

Atmospheric– Simple and hidden away in a strip, this restaurant was surprisingly crowded. The live music was a blend of easy listening with a clear hippie vibe that goes along well with the décor and style. Service– I got take out, and all staff members were friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food came out in an expected time. Food– Asian-inspired options for everyone: gluten-free, ethical meats, local veggies, vegetarian, and vegan. The vegan cream of cauliflower soup was good, though a little bland. The pot stickers were tasty, and the accompanying sauce was delicious. My husband enjoyed his grass-fed cheese burger with duck bacon.

This place funkin rocks! Came here with a party of 9 since we were in the area and it was awesome! I got to try so many different dishes, all of which were scrumptious. They have a very reasonable prix fix menu on Sunday lunch when we went too, which most of us took advantage of. I love how all of the food is locally sourced, organic, antibiotic-free, and fresh as hell. Not only can you taste the difference, but it’s nice to know you’re not eating garbage. Some of the highlights included the wild boar ribs; the gumbo; smoked salmon; spring salad with rhubarb; «steak and eggs» which was local duck, bacon, eggs, and salad;, egg sandwich, and french toast. The warm chocolate cake and mango custard for dessert were delicious as well. Hell everything was extraordinary. How can I forget the Apple Rutabaga soup, which was revolutionarily orgasmic! Service was spot-on too, very attentive, quick, and accommodating. Considering the quality of food, I would say the prices are extremely reasonable. Really nice atmosphere too, I dig the vibrant paintings on the wall and the incense in the bathroom, which was spotlessly clean too by the way. So glad to have found this place, can’t wait to go back for dinner!

When we made a reservation here for a few reasons sparked my interest. Before me and my boyfriend try a new restaurant we always check OpenTable. I noticed that West East bistro was offering 1000 point tables. All of the times were available. Before I make the reservation I checked their reviews on Unilocal.A lot of the food that was posted looked really good and everyone enjoyed it. I did see some mixed reviews as far as the service was but something like that doesn’t defer me from trying a new place. When we first arrived we nearly passed the place. It is in a shopping center off of the main road and it looked lonely. When we enter the restaurant there was no hostess but another waiter came over and was able to seat us. Not soon after we did our waiter Sean come over. He was very sweet and made a great drink recommendation of a Sauvignon Blanc. My boyfriend ordered a mai tai. We decided to order sushi for our appetizer we been ordered the lobster mac & cheese to share as a side because it is offered as a main meal. I ordered the mahi-mahi and my boyfriend ordered the lamb shank. I originally wanted to order the salmon but they were sold out. While waiting for our food which I felt took a little longer than expected we were enjoying each other’s company and talking about life. When the food came out it was very well presented and looked delicious. The monalisa sushi roll came out first I really enjoyed the mayo sauce to dip the sushi in. They did a different twist instead of wasabi on the side they put horseradish. When the entrées arrived I was very excited. The lobster mac and cheesehad huge chunks of lobster meat. The white truffle oil was very aromatic. It was not overpowering but the perfect amount. The mahi-mahi was well doused in the coconut curry sauce. The curry sauce was not very heavy but a very light curry flavor which I Personally would prefer. I tried the Moroccan lamb shank and I loved the stew like mixture that the lamb was in. The lamb was super tender and very moist it pretty much fell off the bone. Up until this point I was very impressed with the food and our server Sean was very attentive. He asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu I said yes. When you check into the restaurant on Unilocal you are entitled to a free dessert with the purchase of two entrées. We each decided to order our own dessert and share. I couldn’t resist but choose to order the warm and fuzzy chocolate cake. My boyfriend decided to order the the banana flambé. I was very impressed that all of their desserts and most of their menu they offer gluten-free options. In addition to A good portion of the menu offering gluten free or vegan options they also obtain their meat and food sourcefrom reputable hormone and antibiotic free distributors. This restaurant really goes above and beyond just great food but food that is good for you! When our bill came we also noticed that our drinks were comped. We each had one drink but that was a real nice surprise! I can’t wait to return to try something new! I also think that this restaurant cooks foods seasonally. But I did not ask.
