Smashburger

I was underwhelmed. I actually went to this spot a while ago. Unless they beefed up there burgers I don’t see what he hype is. Thin burgers with lots of toppings. Not really impressed.

I had heard a lot of hype about Smashburger and they always have commercials on ESPN, so I finally decided to go find one and try out one of the burgers. Overall I was pretty impressed, but not blown away. The Smash Fries are much better than fries from most places and I’d say they’re right up there with the truffle fries from Yard House. The chicken sandwich I got was pretty good, but not quite as good as I was expecting it to be. The actually piece of meat could have been bigger, but I do appreciate that it was lightly breaded and didn’t seem like it was dunked in oil and fried to death. I’d go back, but I’m not going to say Smashburger is life changing. Easily above anything you’d get at a typical fast food joint, but on par with Shake Shack and Five Guys.

Had a chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I usually do not go to places like smashburger or shakeshake but the chicken sandwich I had was delicious. If you have nothing else to eat and want chicken salad sandwich, try it.

I had an avocado Blt burger from here last week and it was so delicious. I hadn’t been to a smash burger in so long before this and I truly forgot what I was missing. Then I remembered the best part, you guessed it! The FRIED PICKLES!!!
They are so crunchy and cooked to perfection. There are places where I’ve tried fried pickles and they don’t have the right consistency and just taste soggy and gross, but here they really know what they are doing!
Dip the pickles in their ranch dressing and call it a day! It’ll be the best thing you’ve tasted in a while!
Trust me! Also try the burgers! But make sure you get those fried pickles y’all!

Not the best burger joint but not the worst. It’s very over priced for burgers that are just okay. I love the oreo shake they sell there but everything else is just okay.

Eh. Its decent. Not the greatest. They give you a piece of lettuce that is like bigger than the burger itself. Small location not a lot of seating. I am sure its empty later on in the day. They have shakes which is good. I enjoy that with my meal. The fries arent the greatest. They are cut thin and get cold real fast. I would come back if I had to and couldnt find anywhere else to eat.

The fries are always cold. Last time I went I asked for «smash fries» which are the Rosemary fries. I get home and see that they gave me regular cold ass fries.
Being that I don’t eat beef, I can’t comment on how good or bad their burgers are but their chicken sandwiches are dry and tasteless.
Just another overly prices fast food joint. You’re better off at McDonalds honestly.

Great salad at Smashburger. even for those who want to eat relatively healthy but enjoy a little indulgence, this is a great place to go. Great service with quality food!

Hey there burger fans… I am not an expert when it comes to rating food, and the places that serve it, but one thing I do know is what tastes good, as well as looks good, and well if you got those two, a little extra $ doesn’t really matter…
I waited patiently a few months for this location to complete building, and open it’s doors for business. Finally I could go in, and try these new kind of burgers, that are literally smashed before they are cooked, that puts a new spin on creativity. my first burger was their Mushroom Swiss Burger, wow wee it was hot, huge, juicy, and the taste was awesome, combined with the order of sweet potato fries, and their own Iced tea… a meal savored… and a memory made with my buddy Mickey Filippone Sr, we continued to eat there on an almost daily basis… My best friend is no longer around to share in dinner there anymore… but for a year straight, till he passed, we ate everything on the menu, and it was all good and very tasty… THUMBS UP SMASHBURGER, THUMBS UP!!!

Pretty much as good as it gets for fast-​food cheeseburgers, in my opinion.

What a joke ! They lost business of 6 people because they were closing in 20 min !! Bad business !!!

Spicy jalapeño baja burger = YUMMMMMMMY in my tummmmyyyy. Fresh jalapeños, guacamole, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion & chipotle mayo on a spicy chipotle bun need I say more. The burgers are always cooked just right. The kids that work here are mostly on point although that can change from time to time but so be it. Hagen Daz milkshakes are aswesome. Smash fries, french fries, sweet potato fries, haystack onions, spicy buffalo fries, fried pickles I mean come on my mouth is watering just writing this review. You know what I think I am going to head on over now for a quick bite. It’s that powerful folks I recommend you give it a taste as soon as possible and you won’t be disappointed…

I think this place is highly overrated. This place did not live up to the standards that I was hoping for… really disappointing

I have waited a while to post this review as sometimes I find myself doing so as not to outright give a negative review without considering that sometimes people mess up and if the food is good, it’s worth a second shot. It’s time, however, for me to voice my opinion as a long time customer.
I’ll begin by saying that the food is good. I’m not a big fan of the veggie burger but the other burgers are good. The establishment isn’t dirty but also isn’t what I would call clean, it could definitely use more cleanings in between rushes. I highly recommend Dirty Burger in Plainview as opposed to Smashburger.
Moving on, anyone who has been to this location knows that the parking lot is hopelessly small. If you do get a spot right out front, it’s a tad difficult to navigate and pull in/​out of. I was attempting to get out of my spot recently when I see there’s a car who pulled up behind me, blocking me in. I wait a few seconds and roll down the window, stick my hand out and indicate that I’m trying to leave. The car remains where it is. I continue to wait and realize the car is waiting to pick someone up. The Smashburger employee eventually gets into (what looked like) his mom’s car but they still aren’t letting me out. I now beep the horn and out comes the big, tough, 22 yr old employee (who first removed his Smashburger uniform shirt) over to my window! He proceeds to yell at me and shout expletives and threats that I won’t repeat. I told him that he had 15 seconds to get away from the window before I called the police, as he was behaving in a physically intimidating way. He gets in the car with his mom and they drive away. I walked right into Smashburger and let the manager (Luis) know how appalled and disgusted I was at the employee’s behavior, that just because we were a few feet away from the front door, didn’t mean it was even remotely okay for him to behave in such a manner. Luis uttered a few apologies, asked if I got his name. I didn’t since he removed his shirt before coming up to my window. Luis said he would look into the matter and I left even more mad than I was before the entire incident.
To add insult to injury, I heard that another employee insulted a group of policemen at this very location just last night. Something about throwing his hands up and screaming, «Don’t shoot!» at the large group of men.
Management of this location: What on earth is going on here that these are just 2 of I’m sure what must be many, many incidents regarding a serious lack of professionalism on the part of your employees? I will never, ever return again to this Hicksville location, or any other ones across the NY metro area, which are opening up very rapidly.

Listen, if I could eat these burgers and fries /​onion rings daily… I totally would. Yes! I don’t mind overpaying!
The burgers are not greasy (I mean they’re not as greasy as the average) and they are 5 stars.
Why not 5 star review?
1) the cashiers sometimes act like they’re NASA engineers (superior)
2) the kids’ burger is pretty much the same as the regular burger… just much cheaper.

Nous étions sur la route pour aller à Montauk quand nous avons décidé de nous arrêter dans cette petite ville pour déjeuner. Nous imaginions manger quelque chose de franchement pas terrible mais quelle né fut pas notre surprise !
Pour commencer la prise de commande est bien organisée et va donc vite. Qui plus est le service est très agréable, on nous demande d’où nous venons, avec le sourire en plus !
Je prends le smashburger et des smash fries et mon convive le burger au bacon avec les mêmes frites. La boisson est à volonté.
Nous allons nous attabler, notre commande nous sera directement servie à table.
Nos plateaux arrivent et là… C’est l’orgasme culinaire dans un bain de gras ! Oui parce que c’est franchement bien cochon tout ça ! Si vous êtes une âme sensible et que pour vous un burger se doit d’être sec avec un steak à 5% de mg vous pouvez passer votre chemin.
Le pain est ultra moelleux et se tient bien, la viande a du goût, les sauces et le fromage sont vraiment délicieux. Quant aux frites, bien fines et croustillantes, elles sont très savoureuses.
Nous avons commandé en supplément après tout ça leur Hot dog qui est une pure merveille. A côté Shake shack n’a qu’à bien se tenir !
Malheureusement, plusieurs jours plus tard nous sommes allés dans un Smashburger de Brooklyn et leur soucis d’un travail bien fait n’était pas le même. Nous n’avons pas pu manger nos frites parce qu’elles étaient extrêmement molles et baignaient dans le gras… Quant au burger il était moins bien préparé aussi.

I hate reviewing chain restaurants, but Smashburger is one of my favorite quick stop food shops around. The staff in this location are usually friendly, and the food comes out fast. Smashburger sells a variety of burgers, sammies, and hot dogs for any savory craving. My favorite part of coming here, however, are the fries and fried onions! Yeah, the fried onions get greasy, but I usually just take those puppies and pile them on to my burger. And the rosemary fries are deeelish, something new from the usual poutine/​truffle/​waffle offerings by many burger chains as of late. I am a repeat customer, and it’s worth checking out for sure.

I am trying to stay away from carbs except on my cheat days and that day I came is not my cheat day. My friend mentioned she orders a salad with a large beef patty and that is what I did.
Their was no choice of medium rare but that didn’t matter because when it came out it was juicy as F*. the greens was fresh which is always a plus to me. The salad had some «PURPLE» onions (yes I know red onions but WTH it’s not even red) but it’s chopped really small so it was not a big deal if you don’t mind onions. I like it so I didn’t mind it at all.
I would definitely come back and hopefully on a cheat day so I can get a shack and fries with my meal.

Nice, clean place with one of the most friendliest staff ever. Elena was so pleasant as she came around to check up on how the food was and to help clear out the garbage. I’ve never been to a fast food burger joint where someone was actually looking to help us after we got our food.
The burger waa food and I liked their smash fries. I would come back here again prices were reasonable. I loved the fact that they gave out free fries coupon for our next visit. Food marketing technique.

Beware that all the burgers are cooked to medium well unless told to cook to order.
Also. An egg bun doesn’t really have an egg in it. It is like a fancy potato bun.
The atmosphere of this place is really nice. It may be because it is a new place but there was plenty of place to sit. The seats are pretty flimsy though…
I got a classic smash burger. Basically… a burger with lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle, cheese, mustard, ketchup. Keep in mind that these all come with the burger by default. So if you don’t want mustard you should probably tell them ahead of time.
The burger was great. Nice crust to the meat and fresh ingredients. The meat was juicy and well seasoned. No complaints. Better than the red robin down the road.
My wife got a avocado burger. It comes on like a whole wheat bun. Mayo, ranch, avocados, and bacon. She really enjoyed it.
I went there a second time and got a smash chicken sandwich the new yorker and was not impressed. Chicken was cooked way too fast. The outside was suuuuuuper crispy burnt. Inside was cooked correctly though. Toppings were pretty good. Sandwich was flavorless.

Smashburger is such a great alternative to «fast food.» The choices are many and the best thing is that everything (and I mean everything) is fresh. Salads are nothing like the pre-​packaged ones at their competitors places. Food is beautifully-​presented in plates, bowls and trays; it’s clear that management knows that we taste with our eyes too.
Burgers and sandwiches are yummy too, with some of the best-​tasting sides anywhere. You can go for the traditional fries, with or without cheese, chili, or fresh spices. Or walk on the wild side with fried veggies, onion strings, chili, or fried pickles.
The one drawback here in Hicksville location is a daytime manager who seems completely aloof when it comes to customer service. Not surprising that he is probably younger than 75% of the staff.
