Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name. This is a go to in the Miami Lakes hood for us. Fresh sushi. Good sashimi. Good curry. Thai donuts. It’s all very good. Nice staff. Quick service. Clean place conveniently tucked away in the Lakes. Ambiance: We always enjoy the fish tanks and kabuki masks but from an ambiance perspective, it can do better. Would I go back: all the time.

Not at all worth the trip. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else for Thai food in the local area.

I live right by this place and never tried it before, but always heard it was good. My daughter and I ordered a couple of things to see how it taste. We got the Miami roll, spicy shrimp roll, salmon tempura bagel roll, and we couldn’t leave out the Thai donuts(for my daughter of course lol) Everything was really good and fresh!

Been here over 20 times love the food, you can call me a regular. Even bought the owner ice cream once down the block and came back to give it to her. But today sat down for about 15min didn’t even get water or any type of acknowledgement and when I told my partner that I think we should just leave the waiter over heard me and told another customer«if they want to leave, they should just leave.» I am so upset at the horrible customer service.

Its good, but not GREAT. Service can be shotty. However, in the vicinity, it takes the number one spot for sushi.

Sushi and sashimi was good. Friendly service and cozy place. Salmon teriyaki combo was a lot for 1 person, but good.

My mom loves this place! We always go to have some sushi and fried rice. She usually gets the fried salmon roll and I’ll get the volcano roll. That and some fried rice is enough to leave you stuffed. Have a cold beer and it’s always a great evening at the King and I, plus the service is usually quick and attentive.

Very expensive, I ordered Yakisoba(noodles) with chicken, very simple well on my plate was greasy chicken, pea pods, carrot slices so WHERESTHENOODLES. VERYLITTLENOODLE!!! Okay Bagel Roll, they didn’t soak the seaweed long enough, it was tough and stringy, so very little salmon huge ass chunk of cream cheese, the frog legs were so small it seems like them frogs were starved! Very expensive for very little food and a RUDEWAITRESS!!!

Why is this place not called«The King and Thai»? Never been impressed with the food here, you can do a lot better in Opa Locka.

I’m not really sure why it’s taken me so long to review King and I, considering I eat here at least twice a month. This place has been in Miami Lakes for over 30 years, and I’ve witnessed a lot of changes the to the space in the 20+ years I’ve been having dinner here. Still, the food remains consistent and delicious. Although I usually do take out, I love starting my meal with a Thai tea if I’m dining in. My favorite appetizer is the Thai spring rolls. They are loaded with veggies and chicken and perfectly fried and crispy every time, and the dipping sauce for the rolls is sweet and tangy. Typically, I stick to ordering Thai dishes here. My favorites are the pad Thai and the red curry. However, I’ve never ordered any of their Thai dishes and not enjoyed them. I also love their veggie fried rice, which they will make with brown rice(for an extra charge) if you are looking to make it a bit healthier. Their sushi is pretty good; I’ve never had a roll I didn’t like. The Daimyomaki roll and UM roll are a couple of my favorites, but all the classic rolls are also good here. As far as dessert goes, I’ve only ever had the Thai donuts, but they are decadent and delicious, as is anything that involves dipping in condensed milk! King and I is probably my favorite local restaurant in Miami Lakes, and I definitely recommend you try it if you are in the area!

My wife and I come here always to get our sushi fix and Thai donut addiction handled lol. The lady at the door is super friendly and our server made sure we enjoyed every part of our meal. We ordered the Tuna Tataki as our appetizer and loved how fresh and quick it was brought to our table. We also ordered Spicy Tuna Handrolls that were spicy but perfect to our liking. Again the sushi was fresh! My wife ordered a Tom Yum Goong, which is a shrimp soup with lime juice, mushrooms, hot pepper and specially flavored thai herbs, lemon grass and scallions, Amazing! The teriyaki chicken was nothing out of this world, but still good. And last but definitely not least, the Thai donuts are my favorite treat to indulge in for dessert! Overall a great place to enjoy dinner!

I come here all the time. The staff are friendly and kind. The service is prompt. The red curry with fried tofu is delicious and well-spiced. The sashimi is always fresh and comes with great presentation. Would recommend this restaurant as the«go to» place for Thai to anyone living in the area.

One of the best sushi /Thai restaurants in the area. I eat here at least once a month! The staff is friendly and the sushi is pretty good! Some of my favorite dishes to order are the tuna tartare, soft-shell crab, and naruto salmon.

The Thai food here is great. It’s always tasty and fresh. The spring rolls are yummy as is the chicken satay. Fried rice and meat dishes never dissapoint. I tried a fried duck dish once that I didn’t like much but other than that awesome Thai place. Never had the sushi so can’t say much about that.

:takes a deep breath: I’ve been here a couple of times simply because it is convenient. But every time I’ve been here, I have had to wave down my waitress, reminder her of my drink, and remind her for the bill. But despite all these things, I still went back. Now let’s get to the REAL reason of my review. Last week(Friday) I decided to come because I wanted some sushi in a place that wouldn’t be too crowded(like RA). So, the place«closes at 11», so I thought I would have more than enough time. I showed up at 10:20 and the lady that is always in the front(an older blonde lady that smokes like it’s going out of style) says to us «for pickup?», I politely said«no, we would like a table.», she rudely responded with«the Sushi bar closes in 3 minutes!» REALLYLADY? then why does your door say you close at 11? Let’s say I didn’t want sushi. I immediately said, «never mind.» Moral of the story. Don’t say you close at 11, when you really mean 10:20. Don’t be rude to your regular customers because your rudeness may just inspire some to learn how to make their own sushi! All joking aside. This really pissed me off! I got there with plenty of time. They lost a customer. Plus, they weren’t that good anyways.

This restaurant is my go to for sushi near hialeah. The food quality is superb and the customer service is as well. The staff is so personal, they remember their customers. When I dine there I am treated like family. The volcano roll is fresh and tasty, they even warn of the wait time due to the dynamite baking. The cashew chicken is light and tasty and for dessert the thai donuts are to die for. King and I definitely deserves this five star rating for the attention they give their customers and their food.

I went for lunch and ordered the basil chicken. It lack flavor and the sauce was very watery. I wouldn’t recommend this place forThai food. For Sushi is average. The nice thing is they have small TV’s in each both. I rather go eat Thai elsewhere.
