Rochester Institute of Dog Grooming

Having attended and successfully graduated with a Certification and First aid, the Rochester Institute of Dog Grooming is wonderful! They were extremely accommodating of my money issues in the beginning of school (I had many good, personal discussions with the owner!), and they were extremely thorough in teaching me as much as possible. The teachers I got to know were excellent, and they worked very hard attending to many students and dogs, as well as keeping the place very sanitary. The work area is chaotic for many dogs, I would highly recommend calling to make sure this environment will work for your dog! As a alumni, I have been very successful after attending and I still love grooming!

This is a terrible place, they are money hungry. It cost thousands And they DONT teach it’s more like paying a fortune to work for them and get treated like dirt. They don’t really care about teaching students how to groom it’s all a big lie to get people to come to the school. They make $ off there students and customers dumb enough to bring there dog, & if u decide its not for you they won’t refund your money. I didn’t even get to decide it wasn’t for me I was told that I didn’t like grooming & basically bullied into quitting so she could make $ off me and then have a opening for another student. They left me on my own the first day and expected me to know how to groom on my own & like my 3 rd day I asked a question and got in trouble for asking 4 help doing a sanitary on a girl dog because I didn’t want to injure her, I was told you should no how to do that by now. Oh & our first day I was told obviously you don’t want to be a groomer if I’m afraid of being bitten & she also says you need to be comfortable with grooming a really old dog that could possibly die on the grooming table because it’s a fact of life… It’s honestly a nightmare
