I didn’t know this place till I saw groupons for this. Where do I start with the review. The interiors are quite simple and nice. It was a pain finishing all 3 coupons. I always hoped the next experience would improve but… My review would be the highlight from all 3 experiences. The rice was always dried out. The brown rice was totally underdone. The onions and peppers are so overdone. The burrito bowl is too big in size for the quantity served . The food lacks flavor. The salsa choices are quite good… Overall it was 3⁄3 bad experiences.

I’d agree with a previous poster, below quality of chipotle or Moes. The server gave us free drinks because the ingredients where«not that fresh,» and she was right. It’s convenient, you get lots of ingredients for a low price but we will not return.

Ok upped to 5 stars. I went in for the steak burrito and although I expected chunks of steak it was shaved. To my pleasure it was all tender, not a bit of grizzle, fat or tendon. None of the when you bite into a piece you’re ripping, tearing or what you couldn’t bite through comes with you and falls on your chin. It was so good. That’s it so good, done, last words, so good!

Ordered on a Sunday evening, and gave a very complex special order. They got everything perfect as to what I wanted, and delivered it fast and hot. The Shrimp Burrito was absolutely delicious. The steak on romaine salad was OK, but not as great as the other. I will try them again. They get SIX stars for the polite person on the phone and for getting the order right. I don’t think I’ve had a TO-GO order perfectly correct from any fast food places in a very long time.

I didn’t know this place existed until I saw it on group-on one day. I decided I would give it a shot, $ 9 for 3 burritos! I would place this joint below Moe’s and below Chipotle. If the burritos were always $ 3 then yah it would be a great deal and It would do tons of business with the local high school population. You walk in and its a fairly standard take out joint that does have a few tables. I got wheat burrito with brown rice, a mix of steak and chicken, a mix of white and black beans. I got a good amount of vegies and they don’t charge extra for sour cream, that is one good point they have. Foutnain drinks are over prices considering how cheap they are but that’s old news. The burrito was ok, but that’s about it. The ingredients were not particularly fresh, they all just came out of the steam table. The place were Cowboy Burrito really fails are their chips and their queso. Fairly basic staples for any kind of taco/burrito/Mexican/Tex-Mex joint. This place’s suck and they barely give you any. 3 for chips and queso isn’t bad at first glass. But the chips are reallllly bad, they are horribly stale and flat, they are NOT fresh. The quesso like most of the food on the prep table just comes from a can and sits on the steam table. This is hardly the worst place to grab a bite to eat but said and done your gonna get ear $ 20 for 2 people. I’d pass. The only major pro to this place is if it’s on your way home, or you don’t want to wait for the line at Chipotle or Moe’s but still want a burrito.

Not sure what Mr. «Burrito Expert» ate, because the burrito I got was one of the worst I’ve ever had.(I’m tickled that he eats at Moe’s and Chipotle and considers himself a burrito expert). The place is a kind of Chipotle knockoff, with a few perks to differentiate them: queso, a variety of different salsas, a quirky take on meat preparation. It all seemed very promising. I ordered a smoked pork burrito with jalapeño verde salsa. I was stunned at how dry the meat was. It’s almost inexplicable — it’s borderline impossible to overcook pork shoulder. Yet, they did. And the salsa, though«hot,» completely lacked«flavor» — never mind«heat.» Oh, and the rice was undercooked, to boot. It was just an across the board failure. Avoid this place. Sol Burrito, John’s, or even Chipotle are all far better options.

We just had our second meal(burrito and nachos) at Cowboy Burrito, and this time was a let down, worse than first time we ate there which was good enough for us to want to come back. They are modeled after and I am comparing them to Chipotle, the king of consistent quality ingredients, albeit not exactly authentic Mexican cuisine. The positives — the serving size is generous, the chicken was very good with no noticeable gristle or fat, lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and the service was pleasant although a bit slow. The negatives — preparation and presentation was sloppy, sauteed onions were hard and undercooked(threw most away), the guacamole had an off flavor with zero avocado taste(threw that away too), the tortilla chips were off flavor, cold, overcooked and nothing like freshly made, their Cilantro rice was a bland pile of starch and the smoked pork taste was fine but very fatty. There was a waiting line and they were in such a hurry that they forgot to offer sour cream. We also had Guy’s pizza at the same establishment and that was fairly good. We may go back again for the pizza, but for burritos we’ll pass and instead, for the same price, head over to Chipotle’s. I always try to support locally owned businesses but CB management needs to get their process down to become more consistent and address poor quality ingredients that turn customers off; a shop like this cannot afford to lose even one return customer but they just did.

Tried this place for the first time today. Had lunch with a few coworkers, and the service was great, the burrito was delicious. Burritos were really big and filling. Lots of choices of fillings and salsa’s. We each tried something different — pulled pork, steak, and chili burritos. A lot of comparisons will be made to Moe’s or Chipotle, and it is a similar type deal where they make your food in front of while you are deciding what to put in. Similar to Chipotle, the chips and salsa are an extra charge, but the chips tasted better at Cowboy. Pricing and quality of ingredients very similar, but the dining area was quite a bit smaller.

Tonight we had a chicken burrito and a steak quesadilla. They were both pretty good and there are different salsa’s to choose from. The toppings were good with a nice variety. But here is where things go wrong. The tortilla chips were very stale and had some weird lime flavoring to them. The soda selection was very basic and I like to have some out of the box choices like Mr Pibb but that’s just me. The people working behind the counter while very nice, were all new and not so sure how to take an order. The person behind the counter tried to built two orders at once instead of just doing one then go back and do the other. It was hard to keep the ingredients separate for the two different orders. The quesadilla took forever to come back from the pizza kitchen where the cheese was melted. All in all I would still recommend Moe’s over Cowboy Burrito any day. But if you are in a hurry and near by I would go again and not pay the extra $ 1.50 for very bad chips. Who ever heard of paying for chips when getting a dinner? Not me…
