Love how helpful everyone is here! I’m from Hawaii, the Aloha state for crying out loud, but their grocery stores got nothing on how nice and helpful the staff is here! Wish they had a bigger asian section but I know that’s not something I can hold against them.

Publix, you know I love you. You are my go-to supermarket at my Florida location and I thought I’d continue the love affair while on extended vacation in Tennessee, but I was wrong. My bad experience has to do with trying to cash a personal check at the courtesy counter. I’ve done this many times in Florida and the clerk was nice enough about accepting an out of state check. My check, however, was denied by the third party vendor Publix has put in place to screen checks. I was given a print out with a phone number to call for the vendor that denied my check, a company called Certegy. It turns out that Certegy doesn’t access your bank info to deny a check. They couldn’t tell me what their criteria is for accepting or denying a check. I was cashing a check for $ 75 on an account that has over $ 4000 in it. Perfect credit, no bounced checks. I was told by Certegy that I was now converted to «VIP status»(because I was calling them and grilling them on why I was denied), but then they also said essentially that it meant nothing because the check could be denied again. I don’t understand why Publix has hired a vendor that is denying checks based on nothing but arbitrary factors the phone rep could not even articulate– not my check writing history, not my bank balance, not the history I have writing checks at Florida based Publix stores, not my credit score, etc. Writing a check for cash at Publix in the first place was due to the fact that my two banks in Florida don’t have branches in the Tennessee town I am visiting. It was embarrassing and my immediate thought was that I was a victim of identity theft, but upon calling my own bank and the company Certegy, it turns out that there was nothing compromised on my bank account and that this was just some stupid arbitrary decision made by some 3rd party vendor that can’t explain its screening policies. Publix, you need a new check system.

Our favorite place to shop for all our grocery needs. The staff are always amazing ! They always talk and make our three year old daughter, Ireland smile. It is simply the best Publix we have been to and continue to support ! The only thing I’d wish for? Is that people to treat the staff better. They all seem to work very hard and always make sure they make you smile. I saw one lady who wasn’t clearly crippled or in need of that service. She made this young man take her cart out to her car in the freezing weather. She was very rude to him and it appalled me. She just hopped into her front seat and spoke to him like a maid. I would like to see more individuals thanking them for doing that service and to be generous instead of acting like the staff are to be used for this service in laziness and to take advantage. I can understand the elderly needing help & people who truly have their hands full. There is no excuse to treat them like dirt though. Overall this place is simply amazing !

I have always loved Publix but yesterday they not only confirmed that for me but exceeded my expectations. My kids had their soccer parties yesterday and at the last minute we were in need of sliced tomatoes, lettuce and onions enough for 100 hamburgers. I found the manager of the store and told him my problem. He not only helped us out but went back in the deli and put on the hair net and helped them get it done for us!!! Thank you Publix for coming through for our soccer party!!!

It’s a Publix. They’re all good, with prices marginally higher than most other chains, but commensurate quality. Better stock levels here than the Goodlettsville location, if you are between both like me, but this one has a more crowded lot and requires negotiating local traffic. No complaints about the store itself.

I moved from So Florida 13 years ago and was lost without my Publix. Was so happy when they finally came into TN. Prices aren’t always the best, but you get what you pay for… clean, friendly and variety! The produce, meats and fish are always fresh. They seem to be well staffed; several times I have been 3 or 4th in line and someone runs over and opens up a new register! I shop at Publix 95% of the time and LOVEIT!

Best of the best in terms of chain grocery stores. Prices may not always be the lowest around, but you can find some great deals. Check the weekly flyer for the best deals. Service is excellent. Publix will fix any problem, no questions asked(most of the time).
