Family run, DOG friendly, and a great back Porch. Enjoy this off-the-beaten path restaurant. Load up on the cheese specialties and enjoy the nice breeze that comes down from the Mountains.

Mid-Afternoon on a Sunday and it isn’t crowded or crazy busy. Dang — the kitchen is slow. Over 30-minutes in, order was placed for one fried cheese entrée, and we sat there waiting and waiting and waiting. Heinz ketchup pours out of the bottle faster than frying cheese at this place. And the cheese was cold. Reviews online are pretty good so it must be a hit or miss experience. For us, it was definitely a miss. Verdict is «been there, done that.» Likelihood to visit again — highly doubtful.

5 stars because we are reviewing it for what it is, a fried cheese place! The fried cheese dishes we had were all amazing. I highly recommend you go next door, get a beer to go, come back, sit on the patio and enjoy fried cheese and beer! It will make you visit to Helen that much better.

We would have licked the plates if I could have held any more food in my tummy! Hubs had the bratwurst, with kraut & red cabbage. The red cabbage was a veggie that be yummy enough for dessert. I have the fried cheese appetizer & we shared the big bowl of chicken noodle soup. EVERYTHINGWASOUTSTANDING! Inside is very small, maybe 20 seats. Staff was very attentive. We got a German chocolate cake slice to go. They DONOT sell beer or wine, but you can bring your own inside. Total bill $ 40.

Amazing little place to eat. Our first time here. We ordered the Goulash soup and fried cheese sandwich were delicious. The mozzarella was not overpowering at all. The Goulash had a delicious beef broth. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who comes to Helen, GA.

This place is alright — it rides the border between 3 and 4. PROS: — The food is decent, and they have a good selection of dishes. — The staff is friendly. — The interior is very clean and attractive-looking, with the exception of the bathroom. The bathroom is clean and perfectly serviceable, but it also serves as a storage area for cleaning supplies and mops. CONS: — It’s small. I think there are only ~six tables inside. If you have a group of 5+, you’re definitely going to have trouble. If you’re visiting on a day when the patio — The food is decent — not mind-blowing. Neither of the dishes my party ordered were hot when it came out. The bratwurst platter had so much potato salad, which served more as filler than anything else. — The price. Everything is too expensive for what it is. Most dishes range between 18 and 22 dollars. This place is a cut above some of the tourist-trap places in the area, but it’s still not worth these prices. If the restaurant were to cut the entire menu by about three dollars, it’d be much more reasonable. If you’re looking for okay-ish German-ish food in Helen, and you’re willing to pay for it, this is a charming little place.

This place was amazing! My friends and I travel alot and met someone you advised us to give Helen a try. We got there and instantly fell in love with all the little shops. Then we decided to get some food and stumbled upon this café and it was the BEST thing that ever happened to us. The whole staff was awesome and so welcoming. They were super nice and gracious. The food. Yes I had to put a period because it was life changing. It was absolutely delicious. We all ordered different things and literally were licking each others plates. We also made the choice of doing desert and it was equally as amazing. Everything was so amazingly delicious. I recommend this place to everyone in the world! EATHERE! You wont regret it!

My husband and I came on reservation. The restaurant is small, and I am sure you would have a hard time getting a table if you come without a reservation during the peak season. We came early for dinner on a cold winter night, so reservation was not really necessary since there were no one else in the restaurant when we arrived. However, customers did started to come in around 7pm, so I think making a reservation is the best way to secure you a table. I ordered a Grilled Bratwurst Platter, which was delicious. Although I wanted to cut down my calorie intake for the day(I had a plate of fried seafood for lunch), I could not stop digging my fork into the dish! The homemade potato salad was just right for me. With some spiciness from raw onion, not overpowering mayonnaise, and creamy potato, I just could not have enough of it. The sauerkraut was delicious even by itself, and it is definitely much better with the juicy Bratwurst! I found the Wursts were a little bit salty with both sauerkraut and the mustard, but they went well with either of them. However, I had really high expectations for Bratwurst because my mom, who cannot tolerate pork, highly recommended Bratwurst to me when she visited German. I did not find the Bratwurst here to be that exceptional. They were delicious, but probably missing that WOW factor to me. My husband ordered Original Hungarian Goulash with Bread Dumplings. He found the traditional Czech bread dumplings were just the same as Chinese white buns lol. He said the beef was tender and flavorful, and he was very happy with his dish. For desert we shared a piece of German Chocolate Cake. I just want to tell you that the Cake was HUGE! The picture I am going to upload is missing a huge chunk, though I had played hard with the angle to hide, because it looked fantastic! It was decadent as it was advertised, and the coconut flakes inside of the cake elevated the dense while rich chocolate cake! The whipped cream on the side was also delicious! I did not add Ice Cream to the cake but I could imagine how wonderful the cake is going to be with a scoop of ice cream! Try it!

This was our first time in Helen and we are so glad we chose mullers for lunch! The staff was friendly and the food was wonderful & authentic. We tried the goulash soup, then had the fried Brie with ham and the pork schnitzel sandwich with potato salad. We’ll definitely be back!

What a tasty gem of a place in Helen! I had the chicken noodle soup which was extremely good, and bunny had the cordon blue schnitzel. Oh and we had the cheddar cheese and ham fried cheese app which was freaking delicious too. Great service, and just yummy home cooked food.

Restaurant is very small, we arrived and the staff didn’t have space to accomadate a party of 10 so they asked us to return in 45 minutes. We left our phone and went strolling around the town. We came on a cold day so we couldn’t sit outside with the babies. One of the kids was very hungry and we ordered a chicken soup to go and fed it to her outside. It was delicious. After an hour, they had made room for us but we had to sit at two different tables. We were famished and this was ok. The gentleman waiting on all the tables seemed to running things, not sure if they were the owners. He was super cool and was working hard to keep everyone happy. Since it was Sunday, alcohol could not be served they allowed us to bring in outside beer from the bar next door. Which we did. we started with the fried cheese kabob appetizer, amazing. Hubby and I shared the Jäger Schnitzel. It was delish. Service was not perfect since it was being operated by one cook in the back and the gentleman handling the floor, orders, the drinks, the outside pick up orders. a little chaotic when it was time to go. I did request a hot chocolate to go and it was perfect. I highly recommend.

The restaurant is small and located one block behind main street. The service was great, and the staff were very friendly. After reading previous reviews, my husband and I tried the goulash and ‘must try’ fried cheese sandwiches. The food not only came out pretty quickly, but everything was piping hot as well. Everything was delicious. Who knew that fried cheese sandwiches could be so good! The goulash was very hearty with heaping spoonfuls of tender stewed beef as well. The best thing to have on such a cold day. We loved our experience here and definitely plan to come back.

The food is amazing. I had a pork schnitzel sandwich and my wife had a bratwurst hoagie and both dishes were delicious! They don’t serve beer, but you can buy it in the pub behind it. Totally recommended.

Of course fried cheese is going to taste good; it’s nearly impossible to mess up, but this place puts such a homey panache to everything that coming here wasn’t just about the food, it really completed our Helen experience. We will be coming back soon just to come to this restaurant. We came before the dinner rush on a Saturday during Oktoberfest. Our server and the manager were like those really friendly neighbors down the street. They were just cheerful, casually friendly, and glad we were there. The food was so much better than I was expecting based on the offerings across the street. The fried cheese was wonderful– perfectly crispy and crunchy on the outside with that smooth creamy cheese on the inside that goes with everything. The sausages and sauerkraut were the best I’ve ever had. The sausages had a flavor that was subtle and complex and just melted in my mouth. The sauerkraut didn’t have that heavily acid flavor and actually complemented instead of overwhelming the sausage. The potato salad served on the side was simply heavenly– light and fluffy, everything you love about real mashed potatoes with a potato salad twist. For dessert, my SO had the first bite. I was worried at first because his first comment was, «Man, they messed up.» «What’s wrong?» I said. «Now you gotta learn to make strudel. This is all the best parts of apple pie.» And it was– all melty and crusty with real vanilla ice cream, it was a great finish to the meal. HIGHLY recommended. Do not miss this place on your visit to Helen.

This is a place to which we will come back. We had the Jäger Schnitzel and the Chicken with Mushrooms as entrees. Both were good. They let us get the cheese skewer as an appetizer(without the sides) that was totally delicious. Strawberry crêpe for dessert was a perfect ending. Thanks for the great meal! :)

We were tired and very hungry tourists looking to get our hands on some scrumptious German Bratwurst. And we did exactly that at Mulller’s. Small eatery perfectly for an afternoon lunch or brunch. The food was just as we had anticipated thanks to the very descriptive menu with close to actual pictures. A part of four we all ordered individually to taste and try as much variety as we possibly could. The grilled platter of German Bratwurst served with Sauerkraut and a side of potatoes salad topped the list. The sausage was abundant in flavor and crisped to perfection on the outside. Not too oily it went perfectly with the pungent Sauerkraut. The next in line was the Hungarian goulash serve with bread dumplings. The promised flavors of paprika and onions was definitely detectable and the beef chunks were soft and tender, however, the portion seemed to be considerably less than anticipated. It is perfect to be had on a rainy day, simmering hot with lots of gravy to dip the bread in. We also ordered the Jäger Schnitzel which is pan crusted pork topped with a delicious mushroom and cheese sauce served with a side of salad and potates wedges. The sauce must get a special mention here since I simply had to ask for some extra on side. It was creamy with a generous portion of chewy mushrooms pairing very well with the crispy pork. One down side, however, which could have been avoided was that the pork was a tad bit too oily. Last on cue was the Chicken Noodle soup serve with a bratwurst sandwich. Both tradition german preparations, the combination eaten together did justice to their individual flavors. All in all a very satisfactory meal which set us off very nicely on our quest to explore the town. It set off just the right mood and left us with a very comforting after taste.

Really good fresh food — and this is without any qualifier of ‘for a tourist town.’ If this was near home, it would be on our regular rotation. The dining room is small, but there is additional seating outside if you can stand the heat. The wait staff is über-friendly and very accommodating. Both times we ate here we were a party of seven with two young boys. We tried just about everything on the menu — no stinkers in the lot. When the seven and nine year old stopped the waiter to ask him to complement the chef for ‘the best chicken ever’ we knew this was a winner.
