I was not very impressed. When the employee asked if I wanted everything on my sandwich, I said yes. I found a hair in my sandwich. Maybe that’s what he meant when he asked if I wanted everything? Gross. This place was not much different than Subway and was more expensive.

Really, really annoyed right now. We ordered Amighetti’s today at work since it’s just down the road and we were craving their bread. Their bread is AMAZING, which is the ONLY saving grace for this place at this point. Unfortunately, their prices have gotten WAY out of control, and BEWARE if you are calling in an order; the prices have a way of changing when you pick up your food. I ordered a side Caesar salad. I really only wanted the bread, but I figured I should probably eat something other than bread. I recieved the world’d smallest salad, about 8 pieces of lettuce and about 5 croutons. The dressing was on the side, which I thought was odd, since it was impossible to «toss» the salad in the tiny styrofoam container. I was disappointed because I thought the $ 3.79 it was listed at in the menu was a bit high for what I got, but it was tasty, so I was ok with it… until I looked at the receipt and saw I was charged $ 5.59! WHAT??? NOWAY was this salad worth close to $ 6. Keep in mind, this is a SIDE salad. I figured there must have been a mistake, since the whole salad listed in the menu at $ 5.95. I called. The girl who answered the phone said that they don’t have any menus with the right price, but that that is correct. WHAT??? I asked to speak to the manager, who conveniently had just left for the day. According to the menu I just found on their website, $ 5.59 is the correct price for a SIDE salad. Let me repeat that… a SIDE salad. It had better be an EPIC side salad for $ 5.59. But no, 8 pieces of lettuce, 5 croutons, and dressing. No chicken, no additional veggies. Absolutely crazy. Even crazier that they have NO printed menus with current prices, and their prices went up nearly $ 2 since the last time they printed some. The bread is AMAZING, but not worth the crazy prices. :(

This place was ok. We ordered 5 hills specials which were huge sandwiches. They were talked up by all the locals so our expectations were high. They were just ok. The bread and meat and special sauce all good just nothing special. Subway and Goodcents are just as good and cheaper. The staff was really sweet and loves to talk. They were friendly and double checked my sandwich to make sure there was no cheese on it. They were fast and close to the Ameristar so easy to get in and out of. If in the area again I might stop in, just don’t expect a great sandwich just an ok one. Oh side note they close at 6pm

Without a doubt the WORST sandwich EVER. Pre-made and refrigerated, it was worse than a 7 – 11 sandwich. The bread was stale as refrigeration is the worst thing you can do to it. There were 3 paper thin slices of meat on the $ 7.79 premade yesterday sandwich, 1 ham 1 salami and 1 roast beef. 1 miserable unripe tomato slice, a handful of lettuce bought from taco bell suppliers and a half jar(at least) of pickle slices(THATWERENOTMENTIONEDWHEN I ASKEDATTHECOUNTER) made for the worst sandwich I have EVER had. Even the iced tea sucked. Go to Subway instead – it’s half the money and it’s made when you order it, not two days before you got there!!!

Snow days are great for remembering what is close-by and not frequented! Some friends and I hit up Amighetti’s after coming home from Art hill and a day of sledding. We didn’t have a whole lot of time to eat and wanted something different, it is in a good location, snuggled into Village Square at 270& Lindbergh. My beef dip sandwich as average, I did like the chili, it was very hot both temperature and spicy. Overall it was pretty average, but I would go back.

When having to work overtime on the weekends, my employer busy lunch. Yesterday, they brought in Amighetti’s from the Hazelwood location. We had the salad and spaghetti with meatballs. I believe the bread and butter were brought in from elsewhere, so I’ll refrain from commenting on those. The salad was your pretty stock St. Louis Italian restaurant type — iceberg lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, and pimentos with the house dressing. The salad was fresh, and I really enjoyed the dressing. I’m also glad the dressing came on the side. It’s not pre-soaked a la Olive Garden, which is always nice for leftovers and portion control. I didn’t think the spaghetti noodles were much to mention — pretty stock, but I thought the meatballs were yummy. Very well seasoned. Would I go out of my way for this meal again? No. Would I look forward to it being brought in for a work lunch or a random in the area and hungry stop? Yes. My mom also loves the Amighetti Special sub, so note on that. I can’t comment on the service or the state of the location itself, as it was brought in to us.

Do you dislike purchasing a namesake sandwich only getting 3 slices of meat? You’re left wondering what the heck is «special» in 3 freaking slices of meat? Do you find it unnerving when toppings aren’t evenly distributed across the whole sandwich? No two bites are at all alike? There’s only one tomato in a 6″ sandwich? Remember in Boondock Saints the mob boss was listening to a joke and he opened up his sandwich as if to say, «What the fuck is this?» That’s how I felt when I was munching on my sandwich at Amighetti’s. The service was awfully nice and the bread’s tasty. But seriously. I’ll have a coke. *pause* In case you have no idea what I’m talking about…
