Great bar for a couple beers after work. Great staff and friendly crowd.

A staple in the East Bay. Extensive history, great vibes, solid selection of booze, and cool bartenders (Erica and Brandon are awesome). This is one of my favorite bars to frequent any day of the week because you never know what to expect (in a good way.)

Great place. Always passed it by cuz I generally hit up The Bistro. The Bistro was closed so I was like «Let’s check this place out.» I was having a pretty crap day, just got off work, and wanted to just relax with a nice draft beer. The bartender Brandon was really welcoming and even listened to all the crap I went through that day. (Basically I was just whining) really chill vibe. Awesome décor. Pool table. Juke box. Not an amazing selection of beer taps but they did have black diamond imperial which is one of my favorites. I was surprised they had it on tap! Definitely a great first impression. The locals I met were also really great individuals. Gonna definitely be coming back!

Went here about 6 months ago. Experience was okay until the bartender said last call was 1:15 and had us out the door before 2. Super rude… won’t be back.

I adore the Stein Lounge! Best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had, and I’ve had more than a few. Any review I’ve seen here with a slam on the patrons or bartender 99% likely means the reviewer is an a-​hole, because the folks who work there and the patrons are always rock solid. House pickled eggs? Yup! killer top shelf bourbon selection? Definitely! Pool table? Of course! funky shit hanging from the ceiling? You betcha! This is and shall remain my bar of choice in Hayward, and I highly recommend getting the Bloody Mary — you will be glad you did. As for the 1 – 2 star reviewers, you should probably avoid their recommendations because these people clearly have no taste. The Stein is a great place to go for a drink, and hasn’t been yuppified. Down to Earth, relaxed atmosphere and always a generous pour of a cocktail. I’m shocked that the area’s hipsters haven’t taken it over because it’s that kinda joint — funky, original, old school and I pray they keep it that way forever.

Sorry about the bad review. But many of the people who were there when we walked in wanted us to come back in. Kind of a creepy way to start off an introduction, We were warned by locals to not go here but did not heed their directions.. .. Sadly.. .. This place smelled liked an old hospital/​clinic…

Came to study at Peets. Needed a break, so I went to Stein Lounge to watch the game, Broncos vs. KC. Walked in. Typical bar ambience. Loved it! Sat on the back corner of the bar with some fellows. Friendly people. Good bartender. Enjoyed my time there.
Would come back.

This was my second time coming here. The first time I went it was nice the bartender was really good, got a few drinking paid and was out. Overall my first time here I had a good experience but I went there last night and I got the worse service I could ever get actually I didn’t even get a drink. The lady bartender refused to even serve me just because my ID has a blue portion where it said that I will turn 18 in this so and so year (I am 21). The lady said I can’t serve you and you can’t even be in here, no bar should even be serving you. WTF!?! This was ridiculous I am never going back there again.

Came here yesterday with friends to watch the Seahawks game and we had an awesome time. Brandon and his brother are super attentive and friendly. Love the history of this place and how it’s family run! Not to mention the drinks are fantastic. One of the best bloody Mary’s I’ve had! We will definitely be back!

Hands down my favorite bar in Hayward. They treat everyone like family and Carol (one of the owners) makes home made drinks for the seasons. Oh and did I mention homemade whip cream for the jello shots?! I love this place!

Stein lounge is the spot to be either after work during the week or late night on the weekends. The brother bartends I met are really cool people. Good conversations with them. It’s a really nice bar chill and relax. Tvs are on, music is good and you don’t have to worry about an angry/​fight atmosphere.

Absolute gem! Great owners, great prices and fun times. You wont be disappointed. I went there with a coworker and we didn’t know what to expect. Several drink specials and new friendships later we definitely marked this as a return destination.

Came here on a Sunday morning to watch my Chargers, I liked it. Their drinks are relatively cheap. has fair amount of TV’s so you can watch more than one event at a time. I will be back

We really love this place. We frequent often and love Erica, a bartender who really kicks ass. The owners are nice and the regulars are cool. They play the games a lot and when the games aren’t playing, they have a jukebox that mostly plays great music.
The steins hanging from the ceiling is really cool as well. The place has a pool table, but it is always taken, so we just sit at the happy bar and drink and mingle. Have met a lot of fun people there.
Definitely one of our fave hang-​outs in Hayward! Hoping they got their wi-​fi fixed though, as I can’t always check in when we get there because the wi fi is sketchy. Get it fixed Raul! lol. This way I can keep checking in and telling everyone how awesome palace Stein Lounge is!

I went during the day time and it was empty. I was not having a good day but the minute i went in the bartender welcomed me and made me feel better. I forgot to ask his name but he is from Vegas!
You have to check out the interior décor, they have some really cool things hanging from the ceiling, and on the walls. Definitely going back.

The place is a true dive bar, people are always friendly. small town atmosphere and service is great. A jukebox… beer…always a good time

One star for the bartender on Friday night. She is a shrude (enter bad word here). I will never come on a Friday again. Wait until Sunday thru Tuesday
