Dirty bird lives up to his name. Good amount of bottles on disPlay. A lot of regulars. Bartender was polite even when I acted like a drunk fool. Two pool tables and an outdoor patio in the back. Welcome to Hayward.

It’s an awesome place to hang out. So much, so that I’m reviewing as I’m dunking down a blue moon while playing pool. :)

This is what a hole in the wall type of place should be like. Cool atmosphere, incredible drinks and good music. They have sporting events on the TV’s, pool tables, some nice spots to sit and chill that are cozy and a good selection of music on their«juke box». Not too crowded early in the night, but it does fill up. This is definitely not a dress up spot, so if you are in a dress down, hang out mood, hit this spot up!

A great place to go if you want to get out the house and enjoy a few drinks with friends. Juke box, not a live DJ on the night I went, but the ambiance was still good. They have pool tables and a good bartender. My friends and I went on a night when there was only one bartender but she was amazing under pressure and our drinks were still amazing. I would suggest going if you just want to be out without the club ezperince

I was honestly scared of the people in this bar. Very sketchy and unsafe. Would not go back

The perfect local spot to have a drink, chill and just be yourself. A clean, friendly, warm and musically eclectic environment. The bartenders must be hand picked from The finest because they truly are. You expect to meet someone new and should go with that mentality. The art on the walls, the mix of J Boog and Amy Winehouse with some rap and hip hop thrown in, the friendliest staff, GREAT drinks and the opportunity to just relax and be yourself… That’s what you’ll find at the Dirty Bird. May she never close.

So I don’t really understand how this place was empty. Oh, it was a Tuesday night so that makes sense but seriously, it’s pretty cool. Couches. Pool. TV. CHEAP drinks. I mean… what more can a girl ask for when it comes to dive bars. The location is kind of strange but then again, I don’t live in or around Hayward. I went for a date and we were both quite impressed by what wale found inside. I would definitely like to check this place out on a Friday or Saturday and see what’s going on because it has a lot of potential.

If there was a way to give it no stars I would. The bartender Jason was a a total dick. We came in asking for drinks and before we could even finish our order he cut us off saying«look at the menu and memorize it before ordering.» Excuse the fuck out of me. You are here to serve me drinks, not tell me to memorize the menu, that’s your job boo boo. Than it took him 15 mins to get our drinks. He served others around us who came after us as well. And when it was last call for drinks, he shouted really loud. «let’s call, fucking finally» well sorry you don’t like your job, maybe you shouldn’t be a bartender dude. I wouldn’t go back unless it’s a different bartender, he came off douche and that’s not cool at all.

I came here with a couple of friends to grab a few drinks. The bartender was nice. He chatted with us at the bar. We also watched sports news on the TV which is right next to the bar. People brought pizza from another place and ate it inside the bar. So I guess that’s okay there. The bathroom was decent… I think we went on a Sunday night. There weren’t a lot of people there. Plenty of places to sit at the bar and couches in different places. Dim lit bar. It has a juke machine. Of course you have to pay for music. For some reason it was playing a lot of slow songs, so my friends and I decided to change the atmosphere and play some Big Sean. We were able to sing a long and chat while listening to the music we like. Overall great experience. I would definitely come here again.

Great bar! Been here a couple times. If you enjoy good, cold, drinks, a great party atmosphere, and different types of crowds, you will enjoy the dirty bird! I was skeptical about coming here being its on the outskirts of Hayward, but that is actually a HUGEPLUS! The drinks are great. The bartenders are super friendly and know how to make you feel at home. And that’s pretty hard to do when you have 40 other people asking you for drinks. So that’s also a plus! I see a couple people on here complaining about the parking lot… The parking lot is fine. You shouldn’t even be driving when you go to a bar in the first place so… Overall: great bar! Cheap drinks! Good times! Good people!

Look, Hayward is kind of a shit hole for social activities when you’re under 65 or when you don’t have kids to be responsible for. Finding somewhere«cool» to drink that you won’t get raped in(financially or otherwise) is difficult. I’ve gone to the Stein Lounge and had a lot of crappy experiences in a row. The Bistro has gotten really clogged in the last few years and overcrowded with 50-something ex-meth heads. The Dirty Bird is all college-age kids, for the most part, with some questionable older people who are either here to get drunk, reliving their lost twenties, or to pick up some young booty. Typically it’s a sausage fest every time I go. The bartenders have some bullshit to put up with. The parking lot is really small and there’s no on-street parking so you have to go to the back which gets sort of seedy… so just be careful, ladies, and watch yourself. The bouncer is always pretty cool, and the staff sort of look out for trouble makers and eject them. Décor is neat, bathroom has 1 stall and there’s lots of random places to sit/nooks and crannies including a patio to go smoke your choice of herb on. Good liquor selections and they can make you just about anything you want. My next try will be a white gummi bear — no idea what’s in it but who knows, it sounded good. We live down the street so we’ll go back regardless since it’s not horrific and it’s closer than Oakland.

Ha Ha the Dirty Bird. Great dive bar in the stack. The bartenders are great they sure do make a strong one. the crowd changes all the time… it can go from hood one minute to laid back the next. so go in get a seat or a table to shoot some pool. Pick some music from the jukebox and let the good vibes roll.

Went here last night. late arriving at 1230am. First time coming here so I didn’t know what to expect. The parking lot is a joke. TINY! absolutely no spots and barely to drive thru the two little rows. We drove in two big circles down mission looking for street parking. There was nothing. We finally turned down a little side street and parked there. Park in the first place you see or else you’ll be doing circles! Once inside it was packed! Barely any room to walk. The people there were very diverse so it was actually nice to see. The bar itself is divy. Two pool tables a few chairs and a bar area to sit at. And a few private party areas. It took about 5 – 10 mins to get a drink but let me tell you she hooked it up! Strong! And HUGE shot. For two shots of. crown and two crowns and cranberry 28 $. Not too bad! The noise level was loud, that you couldn’t hear the music. Which was very disappointing since the main reason we wanted to, go out was to grab a drink and listen to music. Also be prepared at 110am they start telling everyone its time to go! But there’s a great Mexican food. truck parked.out.side. cheap. and authentic!

I had to bump my rating. Visited on a Friday with Mike and Iya. Mike took care of me. I am am pretty sure he could run a bar twice as big… by himself. As usual the bar is welcoming to new visitors. This place is customer service first. You should see how many red vines Mike put in front of me. Somebody selected reggae on the jukebox… goodtimes. I’ll be back… I have to try a Saturday.

Although the name is a bit of an eyebrow raiser, the ambiance is nice. They have pool tables, couches to relax, a back area to. smoke, and a jukebox that plays a great selection of music. Most of all, the female bathroom was CLEAN! My wife an I have been here numerous times and never had an issue. I say that that because I saw some very bad reviews about how it can get… we personally have never had an issue!!! I even created a drink which is the bomb. It’s called«The Brooklyn Bomber.»(Yes, I’m from NY, lol)(It contains all 4 Ciroc with a splash of cranberry and pineapple juice). The bartenders are awesome, I’ve never had a bad one yet, and their personalities are GREAT and they make a drink the way it supposed to be!!! ;) It took us a while to go to the Lounge, only because of the name, but when we got there, we made it our go to spot for great drinks and cool people to meet! Don’t knock it before you try it!!!

The crowd is always makes or breaks this spot for me. I been here a few times and enjoy the place, but then theres times when the crowd is obnoxious and I just want to leave. From the outside– this place looks pretty shady and a place that you wouldn’t want to go to. The inside isn’t that amazing but it’s a cool place to hangout and grab some drinks with friends or play pool. Theres an outside patio to sit outside and enjoy the night when the weathers nice. 2 pool tables in the back. Plenty of seating.

The Dirty Bird Lounge is the absolute coolest thing Hayward has to offer! I met the owner, Aric, several years ago at a gathering and he invited me to his ‘new’ bar… I guess I am dating the conversation a bit ;) I told him I would love to check the place out but I am rarely in the Hayward area and not a HUGE drinker. He said it might be worth the special trip… Yep – ITWAS!!! The atmosphere is dark, it really lives up to the«dive bar» stereotype. There is amazing art hanging on the walls from various artists. Aric has made a beautiful wall separating a tiny VIP type area from the rest of the place with beautiful peacock feathers. Truly spectacular. There are several pool tables where one can meet people, challenge a game or two, and win all their money $$$…at least this has been my very profitable experience(s). The bar is long and wraps around the front area where there is a juke box and a standing bar top as well. The stools are super comfy, and larger than normal bar stools – not sure if this is to cater to ultra inebriated guests or larger guests… but anyway, they are comfy. A super hot guy named Fidel is the bouncer and I feel pretty safe when he is keeping an eye on the place – thanks Fidel ;) There are so many personable bartenders at the Dirty Bird – finally, a place where the bartenders do not go out of their way to act«too cool for life» but actually remember you, your drink, stuff about you, and welcome you back each time. I have personal favorites: David(awesome, legendary) Wu(personable, honest) Kidon(beautiful, genuine) Aiya(courteous, funny) Jason(cute and sweet) I really like the people, the music, the unpretentious atmosphere and the staff. I recommend this spot to anyone in the Bay Area – worth the drive even if you live far away like me ;) Stephani Smiles at DBL ;)

Came here with a friend on a Saturday night. The crowd seemed pretty chill and there was still plenty of room. Not exactly sure where the name comes from, there’s a peacock display and I joked that it’s probably really dusty! The parking lot is a little small, but appropriate for the size of the venue. While we were there, the security made an announcement about moving your car if you parked anywhere outside of the lot to prevent it from being towed. On driving, careful that you don’t pass it. It’s a little recessed from Mission Road and the address can be easy to miss. The best thing to look for is the«Smog N Save» sign, which is just north of it. Drinks are reasonable. My vodka cranberry was $ 5 and specialty drinks run around $ 9. The bartender was really nice and made me feel at home. Also, the online boombox is really loud so be careful about what song you pick! Overall, this is nice place to stop by if you’re in the area.

Dive bar fun! Red dimmed lights… pool table… jukebox…people from all walks of life. Equates to a memorable first time visit. Stiff cheap drinks. I had three Jameson’s and was aiming for more and probably had more don’t really remember:) What I remember was the fun we had. The ability to be able to chat in this bar and hear what your friends are saying was the surprise of the night. Love that! Scattered couches, small counters with bar stools and a couple of love seats are the choices to congregate. The crowds are cool. The bouncer pretty chill. Bartender’s a-okay! Our new friend from Oregon was a hit that night. Drunk and chatty and so much fun to listen to! :) A first time fan!
