Spirit always has the best selection of Halloween costumes, make up and decorations. Caveat emptor: Check the costumes for all the pieces. Littlest M wanted to be Fiona from Adventure time, but the hat was missing from every package. I guess they need to keep a better eye out for shoplifters. Also, one of the costumes included socks which had dirty, worn soles from someone trying them on and walking around. Ewww! We did get a nice spooky yard decoration… but I forgot to use the 20% off coupon that I had tucked in my purse before we went. Dummy.

I rarely dress up for Halloween. With a face like mine, there’s no need to(when I answer the door, kids end up giving me candy). Anyway, this location opened last year(I’m surprised that no one reviewed it earlier). It replaced Halloween City(it was inside the mall near HomeTown Buffet). : I’m glad that my wife didn’t buy the dragon costume. I’m sure that it would have been worth $ 40, but our son would have been burning up in it(like me, he doesn’t like to be covered up too much). The employees here are friendly and somewhat helpful. The female cashier who helped my wife last year could have been more articulate(her«directions» were a bit confusing), but she did lead her to the right aisle(my wife wanted to be the Scarecrow from«The Wizard of Oz»). Kids costumes are on the left. Adult costumes are on the right. There aren’t many accessories for kids(I’m glad, actually, that my wife didn’t find a fire hose for our son– he would have swung it at people and choked out some stuffed animals). The selection for adults is at least decent. Not surprisingly(this has been a pattern for years now), many of the costumes for women are sexy(I’m not complaining). If any hot women want to try on any costumes in front of me, feel free. Hehehe. The store is fairly clean and organized. The prices here are average. You’re not going to get ripped off, but don’t expect to find any deals(this makes sense, as Halloween only comes around once a year– sadly, some of my coworkers didn’t get that memo). The dressing rooms are makeshift, but this is Spirit, not Nordstrom’s. The scary props that decorate the store are fun and interesting to look at. This is a cool store. I can’t guarantee that you’ll find what you’re looking for(these days, there are so many costumes and accessories that looking online is a good idea), but the selection of items is solid.
