Pot Pie Paradise is off the beaten path. Like way off. Like in the warehouse district. In a food desert something like pot pie is a treat. Walking inside it looks a bit like a deli — to the right are drink in refrigerated display, easy grab. A few more steps and you’re at the counter. There is a long list of possible pot pie delights — I went for the standard — classic free range chicken on the recommendation from the guy at the counter who admittedly didn’t like much spice. That said I was underwhelmed. The pastry was very good, light, flakey and well… very good. The filling was good, fine — just not wow for me. I wish I had tried something more garish but I didn’t. The service was quick and friendly. Pot pies or Sandwiches. Water is handy — a couple eating areas so it’s small entryway is certainly not limiting the seating. Clean and home spun.

I love this place. I’ve only had a pot pie once, but it was amazing. I come here at least once a week for a lunch sandwich. Their bread is always super soft and the ingredients taste really fresh. The ladies are also extremely friendly and remember you after only one or two visits. Overall 5 stars for this place!

This place is just too cool. I used to work nearby, and now I make excuses to drive up that way just so I can swing by :) Their vegan selections are both numerous and tasty!

This is our goto spot for lunch. Where else can you get a yummy hot pot pie for lunch? I am ruined for anyone else’s pot pie because these are so good. So many choices, you can have a different pie for every day of the month.

Finally tried this today and was really happy with the outcome. I wanted to start off with a deli sandwich and potato salad m, but because of the gloomy weather, ended up with a the vegan Thai curry pie instead and It was AMAZING! It was filled with sweet potato and vegetables, perfect curry flavor throughout. At first I felt the 5in pie would not fill me up, but it was actually the perfect amount of food for lunch hour, kept me full until dinner. I will be coming back next week to try out their sandwiches, can’t wait!

I used to work nearby, like most of the people who visit here, but no longer have an office in that location. Still I sometimes come by when in the neighborhood at lunch time. the Jamaican and classic chicken pies are the best i think. a pot pie here will bring you this nostalgic feeling of looking at rain fall on a cold day with close friends enjoying something warm.

Pot pies here are amazing! Who knew pot pies could be so creative and tasty?! I’ve tried quite a few pies, and have never gotten a bad one, so I would recommend you try anything! You definitely cannot go wrong. I did take one star off because of the salads. My coworkers like them, but I’m not a fan. The lettuce wasn’t as fresh as I expected and the protein is just pilled lunch meat. I wasn’t impressed at all when compared to the quality of the pot pies.

I met the owners and their brand at a farmer’s market. They were so nice and generous with their samples. But I was sad to hear that they do not always give samples. The first time I stuck with the Classic chicken pot pie because that’s what I have been craving for! They have their pot pies frozen and in a to-go packaging to take home and bake. After walking around I thought about it and wanted to go back and get another one since I have been wanting pot pie for a while. When I got there, the owners asked me if I wanted to go with their turkey pot pie since it’s very similar. I thought… well why the heck not. After bringing it home and baking it, I was sad to find out that it takes much much longer to heat up than their packaging suggests. I had to heat it up almost an hour in the conventional oven for the middle to be warm. Also the crust on the bottom was quite soggy. I do like that they put the crust on the bottom of the pie nonetheless. The taste was great in both of the pot pies. The meat chunks are big, but I feel like it’s a small pot pie so I wish to have smaller but more in quantity chunks of meat.

Awesome little hole-in-the-wall hidden in the business buildings of Hayward. I’m soooo glad that my friend recommended this place to me because I absolutely love pot pies(yay, I don’t need to wait for Thanksgiving anymore). I came by for lunch on a weekday and omg, I was super overwhelmed by everything on the menu. Duck, chicken tikka masala, steak, etc, I want to try everything! But since it was my first visit, I had to go with the classic traditional chicken pot pie. The staff behind the counter were very friendly. I can’t say it was extraordinary service(because they were busy), but it definitely felt like I was welcome at their restaurant and they wanted to make sure everything was good. Anyways, when you order, you’re given a number if you plan on dining in and they’ll bring it to your table when it’s done. Each pie is a good portion, but if you’re a huge foodie, then it may not be enough. For a regular person however, one should be good enough! I’ll definitely be back again, I need to try everything!

Where can ya get a homey feeling pot pie nowadays without trekking into a sit down restaurant? Pot Pie Paradise! You heard my concern, and I’m glad to have found ya! Tucked away in the industrial side of Hayward lies Pot Pie Paradise. Their menu is extensive(talk about overload of choices). However, I’m always a safe eater, and went for their free range chicken pot pie to go. Hearing how long the lines are and how that’s not my cup of tea, I called in an order. Down a star because it was a game of calling and reaching their voicemail, hanging up, calling again, reaching voicemail, and calling again to finally get through. You have the option of to take it to go hot or cold, opting for a hot pot pie, I received it in a plastic container. Bummer, because it began to sweat so fast in the plastic all warm. Luckily I wasn’t going far before I could indulge in it so it wasn’t too big of an issue. Full of veggies, potatoes and chicken, all wrapped up in a puff pastry, definitely hit the spot. Their hours are in such a small window(they must be doing well!). Luckily they sell at farmer’s markets as well, so if I need my pot pie fix on a weekend, I’ll know where to go!

Pot Pie Paradise, or more like Pot Pie Oasis because it’s location in the middle of industrial businesses make it a diamond in the rough. I actually ended up driving past this place at first when I tried finding it: P After first hearing about this place a while back, I finally came because I had a day off and was able to come during their limited hours open. It’s a quaint shop, and when I came in, business was thriving, yet not too busy, especially considering their limited hours open. I ordered a Classic American Chicken pot pie, and it was the bomb! The crust was nice and flaky, as it’s filling was savory with a good mix of chicken and veggies! I’d definitely come back for more and possibly update this review once I get the chance to try their other flavors!

Finally got to try these pot pies! My bf ordered 35in pies for pick up since he was working from home(lucky me!). The hearty seafood and free range chicken pies were frozen and the thai chicken curry was cooked(they didn’t have a frozen one). The reheating direction says to bake at 375°F for 20 to 25 min. I guess it depends on what oven you have because my pies were still cold inside. I decided to bake it at 300°F covered with foil and watched it closely until it reached an internal temp. of 160°F. It took almost an hour, but it turned out amazing! Golden brown, crunchy, flaky crust on top and flavorful, well seasoned, chunky filling in each pie. The free range chicken was delicious but the favorite was definitely the thai chicken curry and hearty seafood. Don’t underestimate the size of the 5in pies. We were stuffed! *TIP: take off the foil and broil oh high for 2 to 5min.

Co-worker brought these for us to try and they were legit! Amazing and must gets: Shrimp Creole — beautifully spiced with large, fresh shrimp and a blend of cajun spices, absolutely 5 stars Beef Paneng Curry — takes me back to Thailand, with a London twist Chicken Tikka Masala — yum! Just like the Indian dish in a nicer shell Average, skip it unless you like these flavors. Not bad, but just regular pot pies: Chicken pesto Spinach quiche I live nearish and want more of the top 3!

I had Pot Pie Paradise bookmarked for quite a while and since they are only open on weekdays during lunch I never got the chance to make it out to Hayward. However, last week I happened to be in Hayward on a Friday afternoon so I decided it was time to get my hands on some vegan pot pies. Unilocal said they closed at 3pm at it was about 2:45 pm, so I called and they said they are open for pick up only from 3 — 4pm. Pot Pie Paradise has over 30 different kinds of pot pies with about 6 vegan options. I selected 4 out of the 6 vegan options and went with the Mushroom Piccata, Sweet Potato Thai Curry, Javanese Tempeh and New Delhi Vegan. Some were in the refrigerator case while some were pulled from the freezer. The owner provided me with instructions on how to reheat. I asked if they were open on weekends and she mentioned that they visit the farmers markets on weekends in Danville, Castro Valley, and Temescal(Oakland). She was a nice lady and really reminded me of my step mom. The interior of the café was very cozy and you definitely feel like you are being served a home cooked meal. At home we reheated a few of the pies and our favorite was the Javanese Tempeh. The tempeh was cooked perfectly with eggplant and it was a bit spicy but so delicious! The crust was flaky and perfect. I’m really happy they offer vegan options and will try to look for them at the farmers markets on the weekends. P. S. Their Facebook page shows shows what pies they have available currently.

Not your average pot pie, better! We ordered three 5″ pies to go — Classic American Chicken, Thai Chicken Curry, and Sweet Potato Thai Curry Vegan. All were delicious and each had distinct flavors. The crust was nice and flaky with the perfect amount of filling in each. Out of the three we tried, I really enjoyed the Classic American Chicken. They were out of the Chicken Tikka Masala, so that gives me another reason to go back and try their other pies. They have plenty of seating inside and the owner is very friendly. If you have your heart set on a specific pie, make sure to call ahead to see if they have it. They also have special pies of the day not on the menu.

Super rainy day brought us out to Pot Pie Paradise so we could snuggle up at home w/some warming pot pie comfort food. This place is outrageously outstanding! They didn’t have the beloved Butternut Squash in their lineup when we visited but given the deliciousness of their other pies, we’ll be back for sure! Everything we got was from the deep freeze except for 2 freshly made & you totally can’t tell the difference — the fillings are just as saucy; the crusts are just as flaky — it’s a win-win! So what did we get? Don’t be shocked… * Mixed Mushroom — OMG this was mushroom nirvana — such an intense mushroom flavor that I can only liken it to a beef bourguignon but this was vegan. Huge eye rolls from Mom, the MR& me! * Thai Sweet Potato Curry — nice kick & tender yams in a peanut-butter sauce. So good! Repeat for sure! * Spinach Ricotta — tons of spinach & creamy cheese — Mom said it was divine! * Lentil — chocked so full of lentils & potatoes in a delish black peppery sauce * Vegan Tikka Masala — sad to read this had eggplant & lemon as their 1st2 main ingredients but happily discovered that there was minimal eggplant but lots of beans & carrots in a wonderfully spicy sauce — winner! * Broccoli & Cheese — not really full of broccoli or cheese but lots of other veggies plus broccoli. It was another delish pie but wouldn’t have really categorized it as broccoli & cheese. But the veggie combo was yummy enough to make it a repeat pie So yeah… we ended up w/TEN pies total we got that day & I’d do it again! In fact I plan to on my very next visit — too many temptations to limit myself! AND — they have a bonus card — buy 20& get 1 free… this will NOT be a problem! :-)
