OMG I never write a bad review. This place is the worst place I have ever eaten in my life. Turned me off hawaiian food for life. Was super hungry and ordered the chicken with half salad and vegetables. Whilst waiting I needed the bathroom. I was given the key for the bathroom on a huge lid which was pretty gross. This was a bad sign. I entered the rest room only to be greeted by a toilet full of fresh feces :(I was pretty disgusted. There was no toilet sanitary covers and no toilet paper. I decide I can wait. I kinda instantly have lost my appetite too. I return the huge lid and key to the server. This thing has been in the restroom area and now he has a hold of it and is handling the food. Im done. The food comes and by now I am wondering how this place is still open for business. The food was bad, the salad was brown and stale and the cucumber had what looked like freezer burn. I ate nothing, tossed it all in the trash and left. I wanted to ask for a full refund but instead of causing a scene I just decided to leave. WORST and dirtiest place for food and cleanliness I have ever been to so far. I rarely write bad reviews but this place is really bad. AVOID!

Solid food. Try the smoothies, they’re delicious! The first place I’ve seen in the area with Katsu and bbq chicken musubi.

I love this place. It is right off the freeway so it’s super convenient to go to. Their best thing is the Wednesday Chicken Katsu deal. $ 5 for a large box of awesome and delicious food. It comes with a large serving of Chicken Katsu, rice, macaroni salad and cabbage. It is the best deal of all the hawaiian places I have ever seen.

This review is for the service, not for the food. I called my order in over the phone, have a precise order as this is a chain and the menus rarely differ. I was quoted my order over the phone requesting to sub sides. This is usually not an issue to not have a bed of cabbage versus more rice or Mac. When u got there the person told me I wasn’t able to substitute, after I’d confirmed that in my phone order. When I asked to just pay more he tried to charge me $ 2.50 extra for 2 scoops. I let him know I only wanted 1. He told me it comes as two. When I asked why I was being charged more he said for 1 it would be $ 1.50. Now I’m not one to haggle over $ 0.25 but on principle that was pretty lame, especially considering all I wanted was 1 extra scoop of rice. So when i asked why I was quoted differently on the phone he tried to convince me that I wasn’t. Lame again. When I asked to speak to the person I’d ordered with less than 10 min prior he again lied and said that person wasn’t there, when absolutely sure the phone person didn’t have an accent and if seen him standing just out of obvious sight. The big deal? Bad customer service. Not honoring the information you gave is poor taste. Maybe I’m a princess and I’m just PMSing so I’m making it bigger than it is, or maybe a little customer service could go a long way. Didn’t help that he incited the favor of the other customers in line to bully me into feeling bad about standing up for myself. Long story short, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. The Mac salad was eh, the fish was great.

Sorry, but this is the BEST hawaiian BBQ spot in Hayward. Period. Everything is delicious and they make the best musubi. Love the smoothies too! And fish tacos… Just a great place! And totally convenient for me, love how it’s only a few blocks a walk away from my place. Been going here for YEARS, when my papa was alive we’d go and get the ribs and BBQ chicken. He only trusted them to make it right. Love the soups too!

I got the short rib meal. One out of the three rib I had actually were a decent cut of short rib or just had the least amount of fat to meat ratio. The flavor was okay. The macaroni salad and rice were good. The place had a steady stream of customers. The host has great customer service skills. He is ready to take orders and does it with a smile. The men’s bathroom. Was out of order so I had to use the woman’s. Very clean. One of the cleanest. You just have to carry a plastic lid with the key. The door handle is tricky and requires a little finesse. If you need help with it, the host will assist. Lol I’d come back again to try the chicken katsu. That looks hella good and that dark sauce… Ummm. ;)

This review is on their to-go service. Chicken katsu is always always on point!!! Although I’ve never ordered there myself, I really like this place. My brother in law goes there like at least once a week and he always invites me over. I love their chicken katsu. One day, I shall venture out there with my hubby and check out the rest of the menu.

Friendly staff, big Hawaiian menu of assorted goodies from loco moco, plate lunch combos, short ribs, chicken Katsu, bbq chicken, saimin, Kalua pork spam musubi. Got the bbq chicken, yummy marinated chicken thighs in a sweet soy bbq sauce and grilled. Lots of food for your money, came with mac salad and plenty of rice. Plenty of grilled chicken choices from Katsu, volcano, bbq and more. Will try more later. Fast service and plenty of room In the dining area.

DONOT get the chicken Katsu misubi. It’s pretty much 90% rice and 10% chicken. I though it was the fluke the last time I ordered it but it’s not. I complained and all they could say was«it usually comes like that.» I used to come here for 4 years so I know it didn’t used to be so little. I guess they want to be more stingy now. Never returning here again.

I had the BBQ chicken which was cooked perfectly and it came with rice and macaroni. They have daily specials and it just happened to be BBQ chicken tonight which I got for only 5.50. Nice clean restaurant and friendly staff. Would recommend people to try the BBQ chicken

I had the BBQ beef saimin here. Although I didn’t care for the bed of salad in my saimin bowl, which really doesn’t make me think hawaiian-style, but more Japanese style noodles, I did like the BBQ beef in it. It had a lot less gristle in the meat than L&L’s BBQ beef, making it a lot easier to chew through. That was actual a downside for my dog, because normally I don’t eat even half of my BBQ beef at L&L and end up taking it home for him. This time, he ended up with nothing since I ate it all: P

BBQ — chicken cooked perfectly but the sauce was too salty to me. The cabbage bed that they put under the chicken is almost entirely inedible. Wasn’t so much raw as almost old and/or hard. I rather they not put anything. Smoothies — more like a slushy. Prob just use ice and juices, not real or whole fruit.

I had not ever heard of Ohana BBQ. I had come back from Kauai not too long ago and found myself missing Hawaii and awfull lot. So my girlfriend knew this and mentioned«Hawaiin food!» I said OKAY! We went to Ohana and surprisingly, it’s A LOTLIKELLANDALLTHEOTHERHAWAIINPLACES. Hardly any difference really. I gave them 4 stars because the food truly was good! At the end of the day, thats all that matters :)

Ohanas. The place where only feasts can be accomplished. I found this place in Davis, CA and instantly fell in love with it. The amount of food they give you is absolutely perfect. I am not really a big guy but I can definitely put food away. If you are ever in the mood for some really good hawaiian grill, this is your place. The rice and the macaroni salad are great with the three meats. The location is not the best but the actually place itself is fine. My only recommendation for this place is that they get new silverware because the plastic forks and knifes are weak. Clearly not fit for a feast they provide.

This is the closets Hawaiian spot to my house and I’m so glad it’s there. It’s in the same shopping center at Kenkoy’s, Nations, Lucky, and Radio Shack. It’s a bit congested here but if you’re not lazy or handicap, just walk 20 feet farther instead of waiting 5 minutes for a closer parking spot. Irritating. This location is set up just like all other locations. You order at the counter and whether or not you place your order to go, they serve it in to go containers. The last time I was here I ordered the BBQ combo and asked for salad instead of rice and more veggies instead of pasta salad. There are tables for two but some are pushed together to make a table for four. Also add your business card to the bulletin board here.
