Ordered a cake for my son’s 1^st birthday. Anyone who knows me, knows I love cake. Their Tres Leches cake was so delicious, all my guest complimented us. Also, I’ve never seen another bakery that offers complementary cake tastings each week; it made it convenient to go after work and try/​order our cake.

Is not the best but is not the worst, they r a lil pricey. The bread was soft when we bought it, nxt day was a rock (bolillo to be exact). So far is an ok bakery compare to any others that I have tried on the east bay. I would come back only if I’m craving bread really bad and haven’t found another bakery. In addition, all the other reviews about an attitude ladie, she is still there with same attitude.

I ordered a wedding cake for 200 people, must say it was one of the best cakes I have had in my life, we ordered a Tres Leche which was moist and extremely delicious.
Do not judge the book by its cover, as the location may not be the true judge of how amazing is Jorge with his cakes and service, I live in San Ramon and all the people I called here were overpriced and had long wait times, Jorge was very responsive and professional

I come here most every Sunday morning to eat with my little girl and fiancée and this week will be the last time I ever come here. I found a roach inside my coffee and it totally turned me off from coming back here. I told the staff and they requested to see the roach as if I was lying or put the roach myself in my own coffee. Just disappointed in the way it was handled so I won’t be coming back here I didn’t want to make a scene in the store.

Best bakery in East Bay! Excellent cakes, both in taste and appearance. Highly recommend trying this place out.

We ordered my daughters Quinceañera cake from here. We attended the cake tasting only ten days before the party (what was I thinking?) and they took my order without hesitation. The price is very reasonable. We ordered our cake and it was delivered on time at our venue that was thirty miles away and the cake exceeded all expectations I had. The cake was BEAUTIFUL and everyone said it tasted delicious. I’m so happy I ordered my cake from Don Polvoron and will definitely order from them again!

My family and I went to do the cake tasting today that they offer… The cake was horrible. The ones I bake from Betty Crocker are more moist then this place. It’s safe to say I will not be ordering my cake from here.

Ordered the cake in advance. sent the picture as well. clearly mentioned which colours I want. went there to pick the cake an hour before the baby shower starts .they freaken did the wrong colors and wrong designs. even told the guy to call me with any questions. Never did. messed up my cake .no one there to fix the cake. The worst customer service ever. called him he goes or we forgot and shit. blah blah and tells me will never do your cake again. You mess up my cake and expect me to not to be mad. I was not happy at all. Worst and worst customer service.

Everything I tried here was so fresh and tasty, from the empanadas, to the sponge rolls.
The variety is unbeatable,& so are the prices!

Never judge a book by its cover. Don Polvoron Bakery on Tennyson is not a fancy bakery with the frills of a European bistro bakery. It looks like a traditional Hispanic bakery. The bakery offers a wide range of traditional Hispanic breads and cakes you can choose from the display case.
The cakes in the display are good enough for a quick must grab.
I came into the bakery to SPECIAL order a cake for my fathers birthday.
the owner of the bakery personally attended to me. I had no idea what i wanted, he was very patient and made some suggestions to fit my crazy ideas. He is a cake artist, and he acted as such in his recommendations using photographs to assist my process. His service was excellent, it is obvious that this bakery understands the concept of assisting coupes and quinceaneras in creating a dream cake in a private consultation.
On my way out the bakery i sampled a piece of cake from the case. It was just ok.
I left uneasy, unsure of what my cake might be like.
Well I am happy to report that my fathers 73^rd birthday cake exceeded my expectations.
This cake was superior to the cakes in the glass case. It tasted like a SPECIAL order cake. Relief…
I ordered a Coconut Pineapple cake. Delicious!!! All my guests ate up the entire cake and asked where did I buy my cake.
Even those guests that never eat cake, had cake. I was so pleased.
The design was beautiful, my guests posted pictures all over FB and Instagram.
I have been ordering cake from a prestigious bakery for 20 years. The last couple of cakes I purchased where very pricey, gorgeous design but unfortunately I was left with more than ½ of the cake because the taste was mediocre. Guests did not like the cake .
Taste is everything!

Where to start, I got to tried their churros, ones when they where selling them out side the bakery during the summer and I loved them with cajeta inside. i came back the week after and came in to get some empanadas and cemitas freshly made they also had hot coffee to go. since then i got at least ones a week to pick up a box of fresh bread for all my employees at the restaurant. really friendly people.

Was craving something super sweet and stopped here to see if I could pick up some Tres Leches. The lady at the front was nice and pointed me to the orange cake since they did not have any Tres Leches. They also some ice cream and breads here. Unfortunately, the orange cake was not good. It was dry and I did not finish it.

Ordered a cake 2 weeks in advanced. Got a call 2 days before to send a picture of what I wanted on the cake. I had already sent it the very day I ordered it. A day before, I get a call that for that type of cake there is only one type of filling and that it was already made so I couldn’t change it. Then when I went to pick it up turns out they also made it the wrong size. They only discounted like $ 7. What a fucking rip off. Only reason I even bought the cake was because I had my guests and daughter waiting on it. I should have known not to order from them after they messed up on my sister’s cake as well. Wouldn’t recommend ordering from there.

Best bakery I have known I purchased all my cakes from here, they have made my 15ñera, Wedding and my 3 yr. Old sons cakes the latest one was an Angry bird cake and it was an outstanding cake they never let me down. Thank you!

Bread was just ok, not that great. The girl behind the counter was not friendly at all, she looked like she was ready to go home.
There are too many panaderias in Hayward to choose from! I wouldn’t come back.

I ordered my Quinceañera cake here after one of their free cake tastings on Tuesdays. The cakes that we tried were awesome! We spoke to Jorge and he was very kind and really wanted to hear about what I wanted my cake to look like. He gave us an excellent price and I highly recommend this place to anyone!
