I’m going to my first Indian wedding! Of course I’m going to go in style, so I had to find both a suit for Gurdwara and sari for the party. I visited many Indian clothing stores on Mission Blvd in Hayward — four to be exact and found many beautiful items. However, at each I felt less than cared for. At two I didn’t even get a «hello» for the first five minutes after walking in the door. I did try on suits at another, only to find the price to be very high, and the person working there unwilling to negotiate. Finally I found from other reviewers on Unilocal: Bibi’s Fashion! It is one of the smallest Indian clothing stores I went to, but she had a TON to select from. And, in my size! Which apparently is not easy to fit. With sincerity, Bibi talked to me about the different types of clothing. She showed me what is really in fashion right now, and even told me the one sari I was looking at was a bit out dated, but some people may still wear it. I appreciated that she didn’t pull out the same exact dress the other four stores had. It seems there is a very inexpensive dress that all non-Indian women are sold. I seriously was shown the same dress in four stores all in various colors, with the same exact beading, for wildly different prices. Not Bibi! She showed many different styles, and eventually got right in there with me and showed me how to properly fold a sari(several times). I had her full attention, and she was genuinely happy to do so. I bought a beautifully heavy beaded sari, petticoat, bracelets, and earrings for less than $ 180. Every store I went to prior to Bibi’s the plain sari of much less quality cost a minimum of $ 150 by itself. So you may be asking why only four stars? It’s not because of the service, price, or abundant choices — those were stellar — five star. It’s the fitting rooms. I understand the store is small and space is at a premium — but if there was some way to put a small stool, or shelf inside the dressing room it would have improved my experience. I don’t like to put clothing on the floor. Also, when I visited it was extremely hot. A fan would have been much appreciated. Nothing is worse than trying on outfits and breaking into a sweat. It makes me frustrated and want to just walk out. But I didn’t. I had a lot of fun — in spite of the sweat! I now have a beautiful sari with all the bling a girl can wear — thanks to Bibi! If ever in need of Indian clothing again, I will be back. And, I will absolutely refer all my friends to Bibi’s. What an awesome little gem this store is!

Really good service, the gentleman was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately they didn’t have what I was looking for, but their prices seemed fair and selection was good. Just wish they had more of a selection.

I have been shopping at Bibi’s Fashion since they opened. You can get everything you need from Sari’s, Salwar suits and Bling accessories. I always buy something when I stop in. He has some of the best prices in the Bay Area. Small business like this know how to take care of its customers for any Indian holiday or Bollywood style wedding. I have all my family and friends shopping here as well. They all love it.

This is a cute little shop! I needed a petticoat to go with my sari outfit for the weekend and after calling a few places around for their price ranges, I ended up here. He has petticoats from $ 6-$ 15. I didn’t have my sari with me so I eyeballed the matching color. And yay! It was a perfect match! A silky petticoat for $ 10. The store has typical Indian clothing store items, but he also carries colored contact lenses. I don’t see that a lot but it can be good if you really really want to match your outfit or bring out a color. The store is worth checking out. Especially if you’re looking for something pretty general like I was and don’t want to pay more elsewhere for the same thing. One more note, they are located in a small plaza and the parking lot is very small. If you can’t find parking, you can always park across the street at another plaza which has a bigger lot :)

Abdul, the owner here has five star service with a smile. I came here looking for a saree for the Unilocal Elite event last night and Bibi’s had everything you could possibly want to get your Bollywood on. From beautiful silk sarees, to whole outfits complete with scarves and pants, to bangles, to jewelry – if you don’t leave with a ton of stuff, something is wrong. I left with a sale saree, a jewelry tikka set, a scarf for the husband, and bangles for myself and my two daughters all for $ 100. Not bad considering if you shopped elsewhere you’d pay way more. Plus you get the added benefits of chatting with Abdul who is the kindest soul you’ll ever meet. He told me he knows kids that have grown up coming here to shop and who still come here as grown adults. Now I understand why. Small business like this know how to thrive and it is through service, kindness, and honesty. No low balling or up selling. So tell all your friends far and near to come check this place out.

I came here to buy some stuff for a wedding. The older man behind the counter was great and really helpful. He has a great selection at much more reasonable prices compared to places like sari palace in berkeley. He also doesn’t pressure you to buy anything — which i appreciated. Thanks and Ill be back for more shopping!
