we have been back two more times after my first review, both times the food was great as was the service we had this time the fried rice and general tso chicken and shredded Szechuan chicken. oh by the by they do not use MSG(monosodium glutamate) in any of their food which is awesome, I will have to ask the other restaurants if they do I think they must after I eat in other places my heart feels like it is going to pound its way out of my chest this place does not give me that feeling. I did just look up about msg and your heart racing and it can be an issue for some. they would get five stars if they would only give you more rice they pack it so light fried, white the same come on man it is so inexpensive and your prices are so high. when you order the fried rice as a meal they really need to add more, we will continue to go back regardless

I love this place! Always clean, friendly and fast. I typically order take out and I’ve never experienced any problems. Food is tasty and always fresh.

No matter how good the food, which in this case isn’t that amazing, if bad service and rudeness are expected from the restaurant manager(same girl in glasses as reported in many reviews), I would rather take my business somewhere else. I won’t be coming back to East Ocean. There are plenty of better options around.

Used to be my favorite Chinese food spot to come with my dad and they would even bring you a free little fried honey banana dessert after your meal which I thought was nice. We’ve probably been there maybe 20+ times by now and it’s always the same girl with glasses taking our order and she acts like she’s never met us before every single time. She’s slowly been getting more and more rude to us and the food has also slowly been getting worse. The General Tso’s Chicken was always my favorite, but now it comes with 50% hard overly chewy barely edible pieces of chicken in it and it’s just not worth it anymore. Plus their sodas are always extremely flat and taste old? Will no longer be going here and will be looking for a new favorite Chinese food place.

Crispy Chicken Proper and the Mongolian Beef are absolute favorites! This is our go to Chinese restaurant. Wish they delivered to Warrenton, but worth the drive!

We tried this restaurant for the first time and the last. My biggest issue is service. I’m not sure why businesses don’t understand that treating their costumers right will in return bring more business? The lady that took our order was rude and short tempered. I asked to switch an item for my child and was simply told, «no, we don’t do that. What’s there is there.» I would have appreciated a different tone of voice. The server never came to our table to check on us nor to offer more water. I read all the other reviews about the food but I beg to differ. I’m a foodie and this food didn’t cut it. The food at Asian Garden in Bristow is way better.

Love this place. Best Chinese food I know of in/around the immediate area! Singapore Rice Noodles, General Tso’s chicken, crab rangoon, egg rolls, all much tastier than options available at their competitors in Warrenton. I will drive all the way to Haymarket and back from Warrenton to get East Ocean over the options I have in town that will deliver to my house!

MUSTREADIFYOUHAVETHEMDELIVER… CREDITCARDFRAUD!!! We ordered from them last night, and have been regular customers due to the quality of the food. However, after last night, we will never order from them again! When the delivery man got to my home, he handed me the receipt to sign, but I was given the«customer copy.» I asked for the«merchant copy» to sign and it was attached to the back of another receipt… WITHTHETIPALREADYFILLEDINANDSIGNED(I suspect, by the driver). I asked why he did this and his excuse was that it «was someone else’s receipt». Which of course isn’t true since the«merchant receipt» filled out was attached to my order and for the exact same price. I again asked why he did this and he nervously mumbled and turned around. I crossed off the amount written and filled in a new amount, while he continued to watch on, nervously. If this was another customer’s receipt, he would have stopped me from crossing out the tip and signature, and changing it. However, he continued mumbling to himself, knowing what was done is not only wrong, but illegal. I called the restaurant to complain to the manager and while doing so they put the driver on who again, gave me the same b. s excuse. Granted, the tip added was a dollar more than what I was going to give, what they did was still fraud and makes me wonder how often and how many other people have fallen victim to this type of behavior. If you chose to eat there or order delivery, LOOKATYOURRECEIPT! However, based on the behavior of the driver and the reaction by the management, I recommend looking elsewhere for food.

This is remarkably good for Chinese delivery! The food is tasty and not at all greasy, which sets it apart from most Chinese delivery places. The service is friendly and extremely fast. I’m thrilled to have such a great option for dinner delivery!

First time at this place. We reallly liked the food and atmosphere. The prices were very reasonable also. We ordered the PuPu platter and soup. The egg drop soup was delicious! The only thing I was disappointed in was there was no little fire that it normally comes with.

Their dishes have become too sweet and too salty lately, the place doesn’t seem to be busy like before, maybe raising the price had something to do with it. We ordered two different chicken combos for lunch, that tasted practically the same. Gonna take a break for now.

I love East Ocean! That being said, I’ve only ever gotten General Tsos chicken and a few different varieties of fried rice, so I can’t speak for the rest of their menu. I usually get a delivery once a week, and they’re fast and courteous. The food is hot and fresh and I’ve never been disappointed with my meal. They really pack in the fried rice, which is great because you end up getting a lot more than expected, and it tastes and smells great. I’m lucky to live close enough for delivery, as the only negative is they have a 2 mile delivery limit.

Our household has been looking for a reliable place to get Chinese takeout from. We gave East Ocean a shot over the weekend. We ordered vegetable spring rolls, egg drop soup, curry beef, and crispy beef«proper». The crispy beef was good and there was a lot of it and all beef, no veggies. The curry beef had much better flavor than other local Chinese restaurants, but was very heavy in bell peppers. Egg drop soup and spring roll tasted as expected. Right now I’m putting them at the top of our short list. But there’s still more exploring to do.

Was nearby and craving hot and sour soup and king pao bean curd(I am not a vegetarian) the only reason they get a star is the kung pao. Was not full of veggies bean curd was soft and lightly fried first but not swimming in grease like most. Problem…The hot and sour soup was by far the WORRIED I have ever had and was I edible. Every spoonful was caked with red pepper and enough hot chili oil on top it looked like the valdez oil spill. I had bought extra soup for lunch the next day and ended up draining all the broth and replaced it with beef stock the next day but it was still so spicy that two spoonfuls sent me into horrible stomach pain. I normally order from China East delivery and they are fast and good. Hot and sour is so flavorful without too much spice it leaves you wanting more. Unless you can basically handle Thai hot do not get the soup at East Ocean

I came in for dinner and ate inside the restaurant. The place was very clean. The staff was friendly and the food was served fast. I ordered my old stand by — chicken and broccoli — it was great! As I was eating, a woman with a cane had come in to pick up her order. The man behind the counter opened the door for her entering and exiting. You don’t see that often and it was very kind. The price is reasonable which makes the experience even better. This is definitely my place for Chinese food.

The ambience is much nicer than most Chinese restaurants in Northern Virginia. Since they are a new place-everything is new and clean. We were there only customers around 1130 – 1230 for lunch Saturday. The service was good though the food was not. For the prices the charge, I expected better. The lo mein had dried up roasted pork and was really blah. The salt and pepper shrimp set us back around 16 dollars and was oily. I bit down and oil spurted out. I think they fried the shrimp before the oil was hot enough. The best dish we had was curry beef. All in all, I suspect that they use a lot of MSG. They gave us fried banana for a complimentary dessert along with too crunchy fortune cookies.

East Ocean finally opened this past week. I hit the place up for some Chinese food to go for dinner this evening. As per my usual — trying out a new Chinese place — I ordered my Chinese Trinity: Hot & Sour soup, fried spring rolls(with a side of House Chinese mustard), and Kung Pao Chicken(extra spicy). I called my order in ahead of time — I was told 10 minutes. I arrived a few minutes later and picked up my order. — Hot & Sour soup was spicier than I was expecting — but it was excellent! Some of the best that I’ve had; — The House Chinese mustard was potent! I was coughing and hacking from the nasal head rush it provided! I’ve not had Chinese mustard like this in a long time! Here’s to hoping they don’t ruin it and water it down due to complaints from wimpish individuals! — The spring rolls were average — crispy and cooked perfectly, but nothing to distinguish them from any other spring rolls; — The Kung Pao chicken was excellent! Not loaded down with a bunch of filler vegetables like some places. Chicken, peanuts, and chiles in a spicy brown Kung Pao sauce! Cons: — They left out the crunchy fried noodles for the Hot & Sour soup — While it did not affect the quality of the food — the owners of this business neglected to have someone proof their menus: The Dining in menu has on the front cover — a glaring spelling error: «Dinning Menu»(See attached pic — should read as «Dining menu»). The to go menu has a couple of spelling errors on the front cover: «We accept major credit card»(they accept MC, VISA, Discover, and Amex — it should read as «We accept major credit cards»). «No personal CHECK please»(should read as «No personal checks please»)(see attached pic). They do offer delivery — I believe they stated within a 3 mile radius. Overall, food was excellent! I will be frequenting East Ocean again in the future!
