Simple street food — your typical taco truck. But that’s the thing: typical taco trucks are awesome! And this one was no different. I stumbled upon it in Mar Vista late at night, and I forego-ed the typical asada route in favor of the much more exciting(and delicious) tripe, lengua and chicharrones tacos. I was not disappointed. Tripe Tacos: They have such great texture — crisp, fatty(in the best way possible) with a tiny bit of chew. These are delicious. Lengua Tacos: Tongue is just so tender — soft, flavorful, yummy. Chicharrones Tacos: For that extra bit of crunch. These were amazing, and definitely crave-able. The tortillas were perfectly warm, and when you ask to get these«with everything,» that includes, onions, cilantro, salsa and avocado sauce. Definitely go for it with everything. The tortillas were soft, the tacos were made fresh, and they were a steal at $ 1.50 a pop. I love L.A.

Love this place. When they got tamales especially cuz they’re tamales are good! Everything’s good actually. They setup on Inglewood and Venice every night at around 10pm to 2 or 3 am in front of a bar.

Valentino’s Tacos serves $ 1.50 tacos from its food truck for shoppers & locals looking for quick and cheap food. The truck sets up shop in the parking lot right in front of Valentino’s Market(604 Lincoln Blvd.) next to the Fox Supermarket(in Venice on Lincoln between California & Rose). It uses a long power cord connected to the market for power, so, I’m guessing there is a connection to the store even though the address on the side of truck lists Hawthorne. Barbacoa(lamb), Pollo(chicken), Tripa(tripe), Chicharron(pork cracklings), Asada(steak), Lengua(beef tongue), Cabeza(beef head), and Al Pastor(pork) are the types of soft tacos available from Valentino’s Tacos. I tried a Lengua and an Asada. Both come on soft Corn Tortillas with Cilantro, Onions, and a Salsa. For a bonus, they through in some Tortilla Chips. The Lengua was softer than the dry Asada, but it wasn’t the best tongue taco I’ve had. It was fine and definitely ok for the price. Besides Tacos, Valentino’s also serves Burritos, Tortas, Breakfast foods, and Combo Plates(platillos). If I’m in the area and looking for some cheap, easy, and quick Mexican truck food, I’ll definitely try Valentino’s Tacos again.
