Hoopty’s Pizza & Pasta

F Hooptys. I’ve called there twice in the last month they can’t figure out how to make change for a 50 or hundred dollar bill that’s an awful way to lose business. Go to the bank down the street. Sad u don’t want my business just crazy.

I ordered a tomato pie and chicken nuggets and here’s what I got (see pics)

UPDATE: This was the 2ND TIME that I placed an order at Hoopty’s and therefore doubly disappointed. When I had complained the 1ST TIME I received the promise from the manager that it wouldn’t happen again. A week later the same subpar food was delivered– and LATE by almost an hour. There’s no excuse for this and too many other options in this area for me to move on with. As for the employees that the manager claims are hurt by this review, perhaps he should reflect first how browbeaten the gal is who takes the orders. LOL

Usually we love hooptys their wings are great! Sadly this time was the worst experience ever. We ordered a very simple dozen hot wings and plain pizza and what we got was far from plain. We ended up with our delicious wings and a pizza my father described as «an order for a pregnant woman». Firstly we opened the box and I honestly thought my boyfriend was joking. I was expecting a plain pizza and we got four pieces of a pie with barbecue sauce, cheese wiz, bacon, cheesesteak meat, and onion rings. It’s not that the pizza tastes bad it’s that we knew we couldn’t call to let them know, because even though they’re «open till 10» they don’t answer the phone after 9. I’m sorry hooptys you guys are usually great but there are too many pizza places in Havertown for that.

My husband and I have gotten pizza here three times and have yet to be disappointed. Each time we used a coupon, they gave us the discount, and then they handed the coupon back to us for the next time we come in! They are so friendly! Highly recommend the Greek and the Hawaiian.

We visited Hoopty’s for the first time on Wednesday and ordered the small hummus platter and Cheesesteak Pizza. The hummus platter came with a huge scoop of hummus, cucumbers, olives, buffalo mozzarella, bruschetta and pitas. The cook even offered to cut us up some more toasted hummus if we needed more. The cheesesteak pizza was delicious! There was enough steak on the pizza to fill a large cheese steak, fried onions, tons of cheese and topped off with swirls of cheese whiz on top. My 3 year old daughter ate nearly two huge slices and couldn’t stop saying «Mmm mmm good!» between bites. The only downside is there’s only two small tables for four people each and a bar area with 4 bar stools so it’s a little tough when eating in. Otherwise, I’ll definitely be returning to Hoopty’s again!

Wings were average pasta was ok hardly and sauce two tiny meatballs, cashier forgot to give me all my food and food was bland.

Best Wings in Havertown. We just moved to Havertown and so we tried every pizza place and cheese steak joint over the past few months. The wings at Hoopty’s have made this our spot. It’s hard to say that their pizza is better than Pica’s but that’s hard for any pizza joint in the area. Also — Pica’s doesn’t deliver so unless you wanna make the trip down WC Pike then this place is your delivery spot for Pizza and Wings.
**Also — the owner and his crew are awesome. I asked for a 2 Liter of Coca-​Cola along w my order and the owner mentioned that they had recently switched to Pepsi products. I told him never mind then bc I only wanted the Coke to make a few mixed drinks anyways. 30 minutes later the delivery guy showed up with our Pizza, Wings… And a 2 Liter of Coca-​Cola on the house. How many places would do that?!?**
Great Traditional Pizza and My wife loves their White Pizza. They have awesome Cheese steaks and Phenomenal wings. This is the best overall spot in Havertown. Definitely recommend you give them a shot.

Very good food, nice people, and prices aren’t bad. Loved the wings and pizza. I’ll definitely be back and do recommend this place.

I was hosting a party and ran out of time to make food so I called in last minute for 6 pizzas. They were very accommodating and nice! The pizza was also good, which is a huge plus. Havertown has sooooo many pizza joints, but this one’s a keeper! Very happy I found this place due to their many great reviews!

Our family loves Hoopty’s pizza! So much so that my son made it his persuasive art piece last year. :) The white pizza is the best in town and the plain is «solidly» delicious. I do not order his other items on the menu as much as I would like however they have been spot on in the past. Definitely worth the time and money.
Also important to note is the owner and staff are very friendly and nice and I think that goes a long way.

Best pizza in Havertown. maybe the best in Delco. An extra large pie, well done is as close to a NY/​Boardwalk pizza as you are going to get. Some of their specialty pizzas are not only creative, but excellent (The C.A.S.A comes to mind).
Sometimes delivery will take a little longer as word has gotten around and Hoopty’s becomes more popular, but for the most part I usually have my food in 30 mins or so.

From the menu, location and constant flow of orders, this is THE neighborhood food spot. We’ve only had the carnivore pizza here, but we keep coming back for it from across a neighboring town and haven’t ventured to try any of the other choices. Aside from the taste, what keeps us coming back is that the owner is all about making sure you get a good pizza — he even insisted on remaking ours during one visit because it didn’t come out to his satisfaction and ended up giving us both — in spite of us not finding any issue with the first one.

Food is average at best, not horrible but wouldn’t rush back. Potato skins way over cooked. The cream cheese was bad had chunks in it. Wings wanted well done, they were almost well done. Cheese steak was fine. As a restaurant consultant n designer back room/​cooking n prep area if wide openrd could use little paint n floor. Just my opinion Matt!

All of these wonderful reviews for Hoopty’s made me feel the need to give them another shot. I have probably ordered from HPP at least five times since they have opened. Their pizza never grabbed my attention enough to gain my loyalty but I guess it was enough to give them another spin.
My most recent order included their buffalo chicken pizza as well as a half pepp/​half mushroom pizza. Neither were out of this world but both passed as fine and adequate pizza.
It is hard for me to admit this, but Wegman’s (non-​specialty) crushes it on their buff chicken pizza. I found HPP’ chicken to be somewhat dry and the pizza lacked that anticipated «Buffalo» bite. The p/​m pie was fine, but nothing set it apart from their neighbors.
The staff was very friendly. They greeted and said good-​bye to my 5 year old who just came off the soccer field. The Darby Rd parking lot also lends itself to being extremely convenient for customers.
I am still looking for that Havertown pizza joint declare as king. Maybe this critic has become too tough…

I just went, it was a few minutes before 8:30 p.m. and the doors were locked. The hours posted on the door were the same as on Unilocal,closing at 9 p.m. The only employee visible was seated at the counter with her back to the door, enjoying a meal. She did not even acknowledge us. I bet her dinner was good. I wish I could have had dinner, too. :-(

Pizza from Hoopty’s is the best in the area. Being on antibiotics I wanted something fresh and healthy so I ordered the brown derby cob salad to go. I was so disappointed to see mounds of blues cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers and a thin slice of avocado.
I also had mounds of bacon that looked like it came our of Kraft jar. Fresh crunchy bacon makes the salad. Yellow iceberg lettuce was tousled in the mix with a small amount of romaine. I was really look forward to fresh homemade salad while recovering however I could not eat the processed bacon and yellow lettuce. When I recover and my stomach can handle it I’ll be back to ordering pizza –Omnivore is thee BEST!

The best pizza I have had in a long time. The use of FRESH mushrooms on the pie made a great difference in how it tasted. It was huge, cooked to perfection. My mouth wanted more but

Great pizza, great service, great attitude by all. It was a Friday night around 7:00. The place was busy and packed. Although most of the customers expected to wait a little extra, the owner apologized for the wait and was extremely accommodating to anyone who waited (in his opinion) too long. The staff, as in most pizza places, was young. However, they were all extremely professional and efficient. I worked 25? years in the restaurant industry and they are impressive.
Great place, great food, great people.

With a name like «Hoopty» as a place of business you know you just have to stop in.
I came in, well I finally stopped in I should say after driving by this spot for almost a year now I have to say good call on me. This little corner pizza joint has some pretty damn good tasting pizza and cheesesteaks.
I went with a traditional single slice of cheese, I’m telling you this was a pretty big slice. We all know those boardwalk slices down the shore, well Mr. Hoopty mimics that. Thin slice with a great crust to it, almost a Neapolitan style. Great taste to it, not that bland flavorless crap, but this was good, down to the sauce. Now as far as the crust would go there are only a few places I would eat the crust, Celebre, Anthony’s and Vesuvio. Mr. Hoopty you are now a part of that list, good taste to it, you can tell this wasn’t frozen.
I also have had the pleasure in trying out their cheesesteaks. Now if I see a spot that has cheesesteaks this just makes me want to give it a whirl. Compare it with others to see what they are lacking or how they impressed me. I was very impressed, a nicely filled roll with great flavor to it, the meat chopped up, salt and pepper with that cheese holding everything in place. A toasted roll, but not over toasted where it breaks apart and causes more crumbs than there is meat.
The staff is great, I actually met an old friend of mine who works there, also as I was leaving more people I know just from bowling were coming in there. This tells you something about this place. Havertown has its fill of pizza joints in the area, some good and some just why are you even open joints. Looks like Hoopty Hoop is here to stay. I will be exploring their menu, I saw a meat lovers that is just screaming at me to order.
Great place over here, also there is ample parking located next to these guys.

I’ve been bad! I was the first to review these folks and that was almost two years ago. They were new at the time and I gave them 3 stars. Since then I have been back many, many times.
Most of the time I order their Carnivore Pizza ($ 10.50, $ 15.50, $ 18.00). It’s topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon & meatballs and I absolutely love it. I’ve also ordered hoagies and salads and they have been great. I’ve never had a problem with the service and the parking lot next door is incredibly convenient.
For me this is definitely a 4 star place and the competition is tough in Havertown!
