My fiancé and I were at Tanger Outlets and this Hurricane Bar & Grill was the closest to the outlets. We were both starving and craving for hurricane wings. Hurricane wings never disappointed us in Old Country Westbury, but this one in Hauppauge definitely did. We ordered wings and hurricane nachos, both of which took a lifetime to come out. When it did come out, they forgot the celery and carrots and I had to ask for them since they failed to realize it was missing in the first place. The food was below mediocre. Needless to say, this will be the first and last time here.

So, I’m from patchogue and decided to drive to the hauppauge location to pick up 50 wings for superbowl. The girl on the phone was obviously miserable with orders coming in, I understood but she was still a major B**** on the phone. I was told to give them a half hour, gave them at least 45 and drove all the way there. The waiting area was packed and they had everyone’s orders on a long table in the back, there were a good 15 orders just sitting there waiting to be picked up by the customers at the door. The two idiots at the front podium couldn’t handle matching names to orders and when I repeatedly told them my order was for boneless wings they still tried giving and charging me for old looking bone in wings. Every employee was dumber than a box of rocks. The manager(or equally moronic older fella who finally came to try and clear things up after people had been getting aggravated after 15 minutes of sitting there) offered to redo my order. I had already been there for and extra 20 minutes with too much to do to wait another half hour for these dumbasses to get it right. I left with out an apology or a box of wings. I drove from 20 minutes always to wait 20 minutes for absolutely NOTHING. The place was empty with a few customers at the bar and a doorway jam packed with miserable people dealing with the worst managed place I’ve ever seen. I wish they’d be held accountable for how shitty they handled everything, and hopefully they lose business often because of their incompetence, I wasted half a damn and just barely made it in time for Super Bowl with some pizza and heroes instead of this places wings.

I’m a fan of Hurricane Grill & Wings in general, and this location was no different. The grouper tacos make a great lunch selection. It’s a pretty good deal and comes with one side. I usually get the house made potato chips which are crispy and have good flavor. The tacos are really tasty and the grouper has delicious, crisp breading around it. Whatever sauce the taco comes with adds some great flavor to the grouper. Another thing I like about Hurricane Grill & Wings is that they always have local beers on tap. It’s a chain but the bar has more of a local, friendly feel. In my opinion the food selection is better and has more variety than a Buffalo Wild Wings.

They need to get rid of those Jumbo wings! They are so gross! I have never thrown a chicken wing out before in my life! I always eat my entire order. Well I just threw out half of my order because it was so gross! Big meaty foul wings! They need to make them crispy and use smaller wings. Nobody I know likes big meaty nasty foul wings. They have no idea what wings are about! And there sauce is just OK. Nothing special.

The service was amazing. Our server was on top of things. I highly recommend the blu cheese and jalapeño dip with kettle cooked chips. Wings were great as well. Highly recommend this location.

Just left here, dad wanted to go out for his birthday. I am so embarrassed I brought him here. It took over 10 minutes to even get menus, another 10 – 15 to get drinks, our server was completely flustered even though the dining room wasn’t even completely sat. I asked to speak with the manager on duty, very nice man just not good at his job. It would have been better if he made sure our drinks were always full instead of taking care of a round. I asked the MC doing trivia to relay a message for chocolate cake for my dads birthday but instead he got a bowl of ice cream, which would have been great if I could have reordered cake but nobody came around to ask us. Very disappointing experience dad had a great lunch experience here once at the bar, totally different experience today. We are headed to Dave and busters now so we can actually get drinks when we want them, this place has lost customers, and being I am in the hospitality industry I will surely make sure none of my colleagues in the industry attend this establishment.

I was in the mood for wings and I usually go to Buffalo Wild Wings. but since this location was near my house i figured. I’ll give it a shot. I ordered the buffalo wings and the honey bbq wings. I don’t like light skinned(potentially undercooked) chicken. it was so light it doesn’t even really look appetizing, them omg the sauce, was so minimal. The honey bbq wings had no taste ATALL, and they barely put any sauce on it(at least add some salt). Idk. well I’m never ordering that again. The buffalo was ok. but still felt undercooked, and barely any sauce. I just can’t believe they actually serve that mess… I also was in the mood for some chocolate, so i ordered the fudge cake thing. and it felt like I was eating paper, duncan hines boxed cake was way better!!! I will never ever waste my time here again!

I visit here quite often as it’s close to home for a few quick beers. The menu is plentiful with a large selection of sauces, burgers and sandwiches. However, there is nothing wow about the experience here. Just a tip! You must specify well-done wings otherwise, you will get these fatty, slimy, half-cooked monster wings. You will leave there literally sick. The folks are accommodating for any dissatisfaction and that’s why I would return. Parmesan fries are good and for the daredevils like me, certainly go for their Garlic Inferno wings!

Watching football today we had to have wings. Great variety. We ordered two types plus onion rings. Excellent food and great value. We picked up but they deliver. Busy and cool atmosphere. The staff was courteous and friendly. I will use them throughout football season and look forward to trying their wide menu variety.

Just moved back to NY from RVA. Went to this place today at 8:00…it’s not dinner time that I know of and the hostess asked how many. Just 2… she said there was a 20 min wait. We looked around and the place was half empty. We asked if we could sit elsewhere and she said they were under staffed. Maybe I’m crazy but as a business I’d rather sit someone and just make them aware of a delay in service vs. refusing their business. We just walked out. I know I should not be so judgmental but that’s just not good service. Maybe I’m just Hangry!

This place is simply the worst, food is so bad. The servers are very helpful only good thing. Hopefully they can put something better in the motor parkway shopping center. (Don’t normally eat at most chain restaurants unless nothing else is open or I’m on the go)

If you own a restaurant and will have an all you can eat wing night, make sure you have enough staff to serve and cook. 45 minutes between orders is ridiculous. When they would arrive, the wings were prepared well but the sauces have much to be desired. Sauces advertised as hot should not be sickly sweet.

I should ask for my money back. This was the worst experience to date. The wings are gross! Slimy and some piece unidentifiable. They had the balls to serve Kraft Mac and Cheese as their own. I bet Kraft would love to see them reselling it. Terrible service as well. When asked«what other sauce do you prefer» the nasty bartender says, «we have a menu». This place will be closed very soon and we can’t wait. Shitty food and shitty service. Should have know– Florida based nothing good comes from there.

I come here for the mango bbq wings(and the car shows in the parking garage under the restaurant). The bar gets crowded quickly and there aren’t enough tv’s for it to be considered a sports bar.

Our pistol of a waitress couldn’t save this mediocre restaurant. The room is nice, prices are good, and the menu has something for everyone. So, what’s the problem? The problem is that the food is lousy and prepared poorly. We ordered two kinds of wings(parmigian and teriyaki) and both were poor. Burgers were less than ordinary. They were larger than most, but dry and tasteless. Chicken sandwiches were better and seemed to be top pick around my table. With so many other similar places around…

Good service can make all the difference… I just came from having a quiet Monday night dinner here and what would be my first experience at Hurricane Grill and Wings. I have to say that I really liked it. I didn’t have any big expectations judging from the previous mediocre Unilocal reviews, so I was pleasantly surprised. A very laid back and casual eatery. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess who led us to our booth and informed us that Rebecca would be taking care of us. Rebecca was the star of the show. Her customer service skills were impeccable. Being this was our first time trying HGW, she took her time with us, told us a little about the chain and went over the menu pointing out popular dishes and offering us recommendations. Also brought us out a few samples of their hot sauces to try. So pleasant. We ordered an array of items such as Manhattan style Conch Chowder(pretty damned good!), wings of course(5 Jamaican Jerk, 5 Garlic Inferno –their hottest choice), a build your own burger, and a Chicken Margarita Rice Bowl. All were really decent, especially the burger which tasted very like they use high quality sirloin and came on a bakery fresh roll with a mound of fresh produce piled on top. So good and all reasonably priced. Everything was 12 bucks and under. The décor is cool and very much like Caribbean beach bum. My only recommendation would be to lower the lights a little and maybe put some votives on the tables to create some type of atmosphere in there. It’s all a little too brightly lit and gives the feel like your eating inside of a warehouse with the open layout of the place. I would definitely go back and easily recommend Hurricane Grill and Wings if you haven’t tried it yet. A solid 3.5 star place but rounding up to 4 solely based on our server’s exceptional customer service. Ask for Rebbeca!

**BEWARE** This place over charges you and the prices on the menu are not the same as what they charge you on the bill. I was told the prices were changed over the summer(a few months ago) and they never changed the menus. How in the world can you hand someone a menu instore sit down and eat and get charged different then advertized? I had a togo menus in my hand also(for the office) and they also were not accurate. When I asked if I can get an updated ones I was told they had another box or two of the old ones to go though before they ordered new ones… are they insane? I can’t eat at a place that acts this unethical and deceives customers in this way. Shame on you!

I was psyched when they opened this location in New York. I have been eating at Hurricane Wings for years at their Florida locations when visiting relatives in Southern Florida. This new location is right near my mother-in-law’s house, so it’s very convenient when we’re out on Long Island for a visit. I’ve been to this location a handful of times in groups of 2 – 4 people. The food is comparable to the Florida locations I’ve frequented. It’s not the healthiest menu, but that’s not why you would eat here anyway. Although I did manage to order a healthy item when I went last weekend. They have Shrimp skewers which I ordered with steamed broccoli. This was the first time that I strayed from the boneless wings, and I have to say that I was impressed. They give you a choice of sauce and it is served on the side! I was excited about that as we ordered a few different sauces. I would definitely order that again, but the boneless wings here are awesome! I love their teriyaki sauce(minus the sesame seeds which you can request without). They have a good beer selection, including some Florida brews which is nice that they are sticking to their roots. They also have an ample amount of TV’s plastered on all the walls, so it’s a great place to catch your favorite ball game. They offer various specials throughout the week(sans Saturday night). I seem to always be there during the hours when there aren’t any. It’s a little hard since I live in New Jersey. Hurricane Wings is always on my list of go-to places when we are visiting Long Island.

I really wanted to like this place. At first I was attracted to the concept. It seemed diferent than your usual McRestaurant, The menu and atmosphere represented something original. However after eating there five or six times I realized that this establishment will not last due to poor managment and poor execution. Every time I go there I notice that there are less people in the restaurant. First of all when I walk in the hostess never says hello or welcome to Hurricaines. I’ve noticed on several occasions that the bartenders and waiters are not friendly at all. They don’t seem to like their jobs. The wings are okay but they are far too large which makes them tough and difficult to eat. On several occasions my food was not correctly served as ordered. And I have NEVER seen a manager walking around to make sure that all of the customers were satisfied with their food and service. They have a nice variety of beer on tap but the IPA’s are way too expensive. Recently they have introduced some ‘specials’ to compete with the McRestaurants down the street, however the specials are weak at best. Half price onion rings and Bud Light… are you kidding? Overall the experience has been disappointing. The only reason I didn’t give it 1 star is because of the variety of sauces you can order with the wings and chicken fingers. But once again the service and execution are lacking. The food is also way too expensive. I give this place six more months at best.
