Snotty people at the door. Trying to talk to the older woman, she tells me to hold on and then she says someone better talk to me and I said I’m trying. The older guy was nasty also. The show better be good

I went on Feb 6, 2016. The venue was good.(saw Anthony Boddin). Get there an hour prior to your show to get good parking plus they require you too be there one hour before show. Also the event is only CASH!!! I wish they would say that on the website. Besides that I had a great time !!! Def going again.

Came here on New Years with my family. Worst wait staff you can imagine. It’s New Years, we all wanted to get a drink and an appetizer. We got assigned a waitress named Vena. My sister and I asked for our drinks and received them 30 – 45 minutes later. Simple drinks, a vodka cranberry and an O’doulls for me. Later in the night we needed refills, our table to be cleaned. There were no waitresses or waiters paying attention to us. I had to get out of my seat(which was horrible to begin with, we couldn’t see a single comedian without breaking our necks), I ran around trying to flag someone down to get us a drink. Finally I got the attention of a girl, we told her what we needed and she complained that she was not our waitress but she would see what she could do. I ordered my drink, and as my sister was ordering hers, the girl rolled her eyes and walked away. 45 minutes later, almost time for the countdown, no drink. Our assigned waitress finally came back and rudely claimed we said we didn’t want anything else. This was ridiculous. I was infuriated and said, can we just get our drinks please? Ofcourse our drinks didn’t come. She came to our table to pour champagne and with a smirk poured me and my sister less then an inch of champagne, everyone at the table had a full glass. We asked, «can we get a full glass?» The woman accused us of drinking it and did not fill it. After our miserable toast, we get our drinks and the check. Which, the countdown was incorrect as they toasted us at 11:55. The comedians were dry, boring, corny. It was a pathetic performance and an incompetent wait staff. Our New Years was ruined, thanks to Bananas Comedy Club. I most definitely will not be returning.

With a comedy club, obviously by far the most important factor is the quality of the comics. Bananas gets many national headliners – Gottfried, Burr, Carey, Mason, etc. Their quality is second best in the state north of AC, behind The Stress Factory. Crowds are very enthusiastic and polite. Acoustics are good and the minimums are lower than most clubs – 1 item, not two. The staff is pleasant and the room is plain, but not too big, so you get a good view. Prices are fair. It has a long history and draws good crowds.

I’ve been here a handful of times over the years and have always had OK experiences. The comics are pretty good for the most part. Expect to laugh. They have a one item(I think) minimum which isn’t so bad. 3 of us ordered a pitcher of sangria and that was good enough to meet the minimum. Decent sangria. $ 25 for the picture. As for the seating, I was really disappointed this last go around. They seat you in long banquet tables(rectangular — holds about 12 – 15 people). The head of the tables faces the comic(no one sits at the head and the foot of the table). That means that half the people will generally have a good view and the other half of the table has to turn their head 90 degrees the entire night to watch the show. Terrible. I had to look away several times throughout the night just to relax my neck. Why wouldn’t you just turn your chair? You might ask. Well you can’t. The chairs are so close to each other that any slight movement caused me to brush up against the stranger sitting next to me. I would’ve enjoyed it more had I been able to turn my chair. Show is good; seating is not. If possible I recommend you come early and ask for a good seat/view and maybe they will accommodate.

Even though it’s a small venue, it’s cheap to get in with a minimum of one item(food or drinks) and great entertainment. Comedians they get are excellent. They made a small crowd tonight sound like a full rooml laughing. Will be coming back for sure.

I watched Drew Carey’s stand-up here and I loved it! My seats were great as I had a direct view of the stage and was not too far away. You will have a comfortable distance between other people at the tables. There is a purchase requirement for the shows. Their drink prices were nothing to rave about, but the food prices were alright. The chicken tenders were pretty good but the nachos tasted like they just took them out of a bag. Parking was a breeze as the comedy club is located within a hotel. Make sure not to bring outside drinks as they are not allowed. Oh yea, I probably should mention… Drew Carey is hilarious!

Was here the other night for a sold out Sebastian Maniscalco show. He is hilarious and if you ever get the chance, you MUST see him! Anyway, Bananas! I wasn’t expecting much since this was at a Holiday Inn but it surpassed my expectations! The only thing I would say that was confusing was finding the entrance/not knowing that that is also where«Will Call» is. The workers were friendly and sat your party where seating was appropriate. We were close in the middle. I loved it here, it was very intimate and you were able to see the show and felt like you were part of the show. The menu prices for food and drink weren’t expensive and their drinks were actually good. Not too strong and not too weak. Another fun thing was after the show, the comedian had a meet and greet as well as a signing! I know that I wouldn’t get that experience anywhere else! It’s safe to say I will be back!

Went yesterday to see Sebastian Maniscalto and I had a blast. At one point I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to pass out from the lack of oxygen. Very funny and his warm up act was decent. With that said I was pretty disappointed with the venue itself. Basically a small banquet room with long tables and people pack in like sardines. I felt bad for the people that had to turn their necks the whole time to watch the show. The food was basically what you might find in a college kids fridge. Pretty bad as far as bar food goes. And once the show started the drink service was pretty slow. I’ve been to many other comedy clubs and this one really needs work if they want to call it a club. Despite all the shortfalls we had a really great time and Sebastian delivered the goods. I honestly can’t remember laughing that hard at any other place. I needed a napkin to wipe the tears from my face. But I think next time I go see him or any other great comedians in will be in Atlantic City or someplace with real food and tables.

I was here feb 21st for a 30th birthday celebration and the party got the dinner/show package. The price fixed menu started off with a normal iceberg lettuce salad, I didn’t eat it, but no one complained so it seemed ok. The choice of entrees was the normal chicken, salmon or beef selection. I ordered the chicken it was very salty, but edible. It came with mashed potatoes, which were also salty but tasted good and had a nice texture. Like all dishes of its ilk it came with normal roasted veggies. A couple people ordered the Salmon(all of the dishes have the same sides). They all seemed to enjoy it. However, the majority ordered the beef dish. The beef really looked like dog food. Everyone ate it and said it didn’t taste too horrible, but it really looked disgusting. There was no option for dessert and everyone was given a small piece of tiramisu topped with some whipped cream. I was disappointed in that because I am gluten free and was hoping for some options. On a positive note there was a vegan in the group and they were very accommodating to her needs during dinner. The comedy club itself is very spatially awkward. It’s basically half of a carpeted ballroom with several long tables and chairs shoved in. Theres a very small stage at the front and that’s it. The owner Jamie was very accommodating and friendly, however, I can’t say the same for the gentleman who owns it. They get a lot of big names and its definitely worth going to if someone you like is there, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a date night or night out with friends.

Went to see Jackie Mason and he was terrific! We arrived an hour before the doors open. They converted the room where they had a party to a comedy club in less than an hour. Show started about 10 minutes late as folks were still coming in. Jackie gave us over an hour of great material and laughs. He seemed to really enjoy himself. For 37.50 and a one drink or food minimum well worth the price. 9 bucks for a frozen drink which was a nice size and good was reasonable. Would definitely consider going there again to see another top tier comedian.

Meh. I’ve experienced Better is the perfect Rating for this comedy club. The place is not bad, but I’ve had better in terms of the comedians. The service was okay, no complaints there, the drinks were in line with other comedy clubs, but the comedians were just not doing it for anyone in my group. We were a bit disappointed. I would look elsewhere if you really want to have a night of laughs. I would not visit Banana’s Comedy Club again.

Never again at our dinner we found a flies in our Sangria and although nice enough the staff was about I thought they would put our drinks on the house no such luck, then as we went to go to the show we were kicked out due to my husband wearing a hat. Mind you we were all dressed very presentable. We talked our friends in to staying while we left only to find out from them after we left they let some slob women wearing sweat pants and a skull hat in and didn’t ask her to remove it even after our friends mentioned what had happened previously(a little sexiest if you ask me.) For a comedy club this was not a laid back environment or a pleasant night out!

I love going to comedy clubs! I have been to Bananas a few times and every time I laugh and laugh. The venue chooses the comedians very well and the wait staff is friendly. Will-call tickets are in the same line as the rest of the venue. Seating was prompt and the acts started on time =) If you are in the area this is a great spot to have some laughs; there is also a grille and hotel attached to the venue. So come for a laugh and stay for the weekend.

Prices are ridiculously inflated, and they add 18% gratuity to every party, regardless of size. Tickets are also cheaper at other NJ venues in the area. Seating is awkward, so you really need to get there early to get a good, comfortable view of the stage. If your favorite comedian is performing elsewhere, I’d recommend going there before coming here. I emailed them to ask about their prices, being that I never received a receipt and wanted to get confirmation that I was charged a ridiculous price for a couple of sodas, and their email reply consisted of a blatantly rude, completely unprofessional attitude. They just lost my business for good.

You know what, nothing like coming to a comedy club to watch one of your favorite comedies doing stand up. I’ve been to this place a few times and I must say, if you’re into comedy and you know who’s performing ahead of time, you’re off to a great start. The problem begins when you get there. If you don’t come early and they got a pretty famous guy there, the line will literally wrap around the inside lobby. Let’s say you get there early, parking is and will always be terrible! I don’t understand why they run out of spaces. You can park on the sides, but where are you suppose to park if everything is taken? Okay, so you found parking, you’re a little late, what else can go wrong? They can and will sit you against a wall if they need to. There is no point in paying $ 25 for a stiff neck! So show up early! Overall, you know paying $ 20-$ 25 to watch a good comedian isn’t too bad. It’s when the server comes and you HAVE to order the minimum required. We went to go watch Adam Ferrara, the guy from TOPGEAR. Honestly, he was funny. The place was packed. I ordered fries… by the time they go to me, they were soggy and cold. Normally you would send them back, but we were hungry. Overall, it’s a nice cozy spot.

I came here last weekend to see a show with a friend of mine. We purchased the tickets before hand online for 20 a piece plus a convenience fee(we should’ve just waited to purchase them at the door to waive the fee!). I agree with a previous review that the interior was cheesy(deocated with bananas). We were seated right smack front and center(not sure if this is a good or bad thing?) Other comedy clubs I’ve been to let you select your own seats as you walk in. We ordered a pitcher of sangria for $ 23 which was tasty and strong. Each person must purchase at least one item and 18% gratuity is added to the check(typical of comedy clubs). I enjoyed all of the comics that performed and the staff was very friendly– I’d go back.

You’ll have at least one comic comment on his or her career status now that his/her performance is in Hasbrouck Heights. But there are great performers there at a great price, generally with no drink minimum. This is an awesome place for jersians to see some great comedy without schlepping into NY(and all the tolls/parking that entails). They have rooms that expand into one another, ensuring that all the shows are in intimate environments, but are not too crowded. Just a warning: unless you have a big drinking group, your table service may not be that great. I’ve seen some of the best acts here just before they made it huge — awesome option for a night out!
