I really appreciate bike mechanics who help me figure my bike out, instead of making it seem like magic and then just handing me the bill. Self-​sufficiency on the road is VERY important, and Les @ East Coast understands that.
In fact, he’s better than any other bike shop I’ve ever done business with. Last Saturday, all I asked him for was a bike box, but what ensued was a 10-​minute tutorial on how to ship bikes properly/​carefully as he searched for and found the plastic pieces to fit on my wheel hub/​fork when packing them up. Then he got me all the bubble wrap and zip ties he had on hand. and then he gave me advice on a new bike seat and how to avoid sciatic nerve problems … then, when I asked how one repairs a broken chain, he showed me that, too! I’ve gone to him many times, and have always come away with whatever I needed. East Coast knows their stuff but they also share that wealth of knowledge with their customers. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
