Delicious tacos rancheros! I hope they fixed their bathroom door, though. I also love the location, and their late hours on Friday and Saturdays.

They should make sure the food is cooked and warm before serving it. Terrible experience… walk to El Sol where the food is actually hot and delicious and the price isn’t much different. Ridiculous prices for how shitty the food quality is. Step your game up Taco Solo… I would have rather had Taco Bell!

Got the taco platter, 1 chicken, 1 vegetarian, 1 grilled fish. I will definitely be going back and getting those again! chicken was perfectly seasoned, grilled fish wasn’t too fishy, but not over powered either. Vegetarian was good, just as stuffed as the meat/fish tacos! You get a good amount of meat in each; They were so full I couldn’t even wrap them fully, which is awesome because the tortillas didn’t fall apart. Medium salsa is SPICY — but i have a low tolerance for spice. Although, a little in the tacos was perfect. Also got the nachos and cheese, chips were good, not salty and cheese was good but once it gets could you should warm it up.

I like taco solo. The burritos are really good, but aren’t so massive that you feel stuffed after eating the whole thing. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, and the dining area is comfortable to eat in. Also, they are open really late, so it’s a great place to stop when bar hopping. Staff is pleasant and are accommodating. I frequent here about every other week.

Delicious! I got the Chipotle barbecue burrito with chicken and my husband got the same thing with steak, very tasty!

The recently revamped menu added a selection of delicious seafood options. I highly recommend the shrimp tacos, they are flat out amazing! They also added a stylish new dining room, so there is room to just sit and relax while you eat.

Sure it’s in a better part of town. It appears cleaner, and the hours are convenient, but aside from that? Bland meats that are only helped by over spiced extras. At $ 7 a piece? You can get three superior tacos for $ 6 at the Mexico Lindo Taco Truck on Allison Hill near 15th and Market. I was not impressed enough even with a wider selection it just isn’t worth the cost verses the inferior product.

Good Tacos — fresh vegetables — good selection on drinks. Solid 4 star experience. Watch out for the $ 3 an hour parking — not this places fault — the garage has cheaper parking — not much cheaper :( Stop Reading — review is over — This experience is one I will not soon forget. In order for this review to live and fulfill its destiny as a review, there must be more to it — if not it will only live as a tip. Unilocal, sometimes I don’t want to bore readers with trite, useless thoughts. Some reviews are too long in my opinion.

Not sure why I’ve been to this place twice, because I only needed to go here once to solidify my feelings. The second visit just reinforced the same thoughts. The atmosphere is horrific. The fans are blasted so high that it’s freezing cold inside. The only stools are facing a wall, so while there are seats, sitting inside is a completely awkward experience. The food is acceptable at best. It is not delicious by any means. It relies on spice over flavor, which to me, feels cheap. I should also mention that I felt sick after the first time that I went here, but I was always unsure if the food was the cause. After my second visit, I think it was the food…

Tacos were fresh and delicious. Generous portions of filling and salsa. Kind of annoying to have to pay extra for sour cream or cheese, as that seems like a standard for tacos.

Authentic and delicious. El Sol carries on their strong tradition of great food and now quick takeout. Shawn does a great job making sure customers are happy. Well done.

Small spot, good for take-out. Only a wall bar with stools to sit at otherwise. The are advertising that they are now delivering to downtown workers at lunch too. The man behind the counter was friendly and helpful. My food was ready in 5 minutes or less. Decent portion sizes. Not as fresh and flavorful as El Sol, but not bad for take out. I ordered a fajita salad with grilled chicken added. The chicken could have been hotter, but overall, it was very good. I also got a soft-shell taco for the next day, which held up very well until then. If I would have wanted to eat it right away, it probably would have needed warmed up some as when I checked it, it was a little cool. Definitely not too spicy as I saw in another post. Everything was well-packaged. The bathroom was also very clean and smelled clean and fresh.

Living on the edge of the Mexican neighborhood in NYC(Sunset Park, Brooklyn) and having about 70% of my calories come from tacos(~4 nights a week) I know my tacos. Starting with the strong points — the salsa. If you like spice you’ll get it. Same salsa as Papa restaurant El Sol. No Tabasco or other cop outs here which one might fear passing it on the street. The sour cream used to douse the spice is also well done and came at no additional charge. Service is friendly and fast. Perhaps too fast, and this is the most concerning issue. The meat, the core, although well seasoned is a bit too dry. On the first bite it is obvious that the meat was already cooked and reheated/regrilled. This saves an enormous amount of time but also dries out the taco. The exception is the chorizo which contains enough oil that this would’ve been almost impossible. I understand this to be a special and not a permanent option, which should be an adjustment ASAP. Generally, a dried out taco could be somewhat revived with a dose of lime juice but this approach is not recognized as it is at many taco joints that make very lime-y tacos . Overall, the price is right and the tacos are slightly above decent. The meats are marinated well, but they taste reheated and not at all freshly grilled from raw to order. I could be wrong but the point is they are dry. As far as balance the tacos contain way way too much meat but in ‘merica this is overlooked. This place is good, but with fresher meats cooked straight from marinade to table it could’ve been great. I’ll be back, partly because it satisfies my fix, and partly because the authentic Mexican taco spots in Harrisburg are ~20min drive away. If you have time, a car, and a sense of adventure combined with a love of tacos check those out. That aside, this spot is convenient and will most certainty hit the spot if you’re craving a fix.

I felt inclined to provide a review after a first(and last) visit to «Taco Solo». We ordered the adobo chicken tacos and they were dry and unflavorful. I also don’t believe the staff behind the counter has ever heard of the expression, «service with a smile». And to add insult to injury, they questioned my friend whether or not she had paid for her soda as we left the place – she had paid for her bottle of soda no more than 2 minutes previous. Go across the river for real tacos and better hospitality.

Totally bummed! We love el sol so thought this would be amazing. Guacamole was great. Tacos were way too spicy(chicken and pork). We stopped for dinner and no one else was there, yet the counter service was not exactly welcoming! I have two young kids who love Mexican. Unfortunately, they only could handle the guac.

Really great addition to Harrisburg! Even though the line was out the door, I was in and out in under 10 minutes. 3 tacos are $ 7.99 and you can add sides, like guacamole for around $ 1.50. I got the Al Pastor(signature) tacos and they were amazing! Everything was well cooked and seasoned and seemed really fresh. The guacamole was really great and they give you a lot. I also loved that the salsa was on the side to prevent soggy tacos. Definitely not a place to eat-in. There are some seats, but its more of a take-out place.

To the owners, thank you! This is deliciousness — hands down the best taco place in this area, easily. I’ve been here three times now, and I’m probably going to keep coming back for the guacamole alone. It’s just SO damn good. Better than what we make at home, which I never, ever say. The tacos are full of fresh, yummy ingredients. I’ve tried the carne asada and the carnitas taco and each were amazing in their own way. The meat is really amazing, especially for a little taco shop, it’s cooked and seasoned to perfection. Their salsas are really good too — my favorite is the salsa verde and I tend to get it with whatever taco I get! It’s good for pick up, but not eat in because it’s so tiny. There is only a counter to eat at. I suggest taking it outside and eating at the capitol or taking it back home or back to work or where ever.

Filling, flavorful and fresh! This location just opened and they are great. Service was quick and freindly, they prepare your tacos or bowls right in front of you. Small simple menu but easy to custom order to taste, good variety, has vegetarian options. Meat and veggies were seasoned well, hearty but not greasy or overcooked. Tacos are stuffed so they arevworth the price, just be prepared to get your fingers a little messy… wish I’d gotten a fork! True to ‘street taco’ style seating inside is minimal, but there are a few seats and counter. I’ll be back with friends :)
