Yummy burgers and fish and chips. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back especially due to the great customer service. Everyone was super nice! I love the décor and beachy feel. They close @ 9 not 10 btw. The hours just hasn’t gotten changed on here.

Helpful staff, quick service, clean, cool décor, great burgers! I got the bacon cheeseburger and parm garlic fries. Mmmmm those fries… My breath could kill a vampire right now but so worth it. :)

I wouldn’t call this FAST food, but the fish and chips are worth the wait. I was craving something deep fried and crunchy, so I got the fish and chips. I’d read some reviews with people complaining about the cranky older woman behind the counter. So had she, I think. She was friendly and chatty and praising the chipotle sauce(which I also highly recommend), so you go girl. When you get the fish, there’s also a very good tartar sauce, lemon, and malt vinegar for your chips, as well as Old Bay on every table(speaking of tables, they are sooooo close together! I’m glad the place was nearly empty so I could scoot things). As for the food, I have to say that was the best part. The fish was flaky and juicy, and the batter was crispy, even after it had sat for a 20 min trip to Gresham. Next I should probably try the burgers.

Awesome fish and chips so fresh and hot a crispy house cut fries. Creamiest milk shakes ever. Little pricey but worth it.

Pros: very clean, Nice interior design and friendly staff. The food Visual appearance are OK. Cons: the food… garlic parmesan fries, taste like old pre-cooked fries and it was overly salted. Bacon bleu burger was edible but the bacon are so hard! I thought I was eating jerky. Burger bun were soggy because the cook put somewhat caramelize onions directly on the bun. Please train your kitchen staff more before you let them cook food for your customer.

Got a chipotle burger and a Swiss mushroom burger. Both were Meh. Not much flavor at all. Got large fries. The presentation was lacking but the taste was addictive. Rather have Killer Burger for the price.

Very disappointed… ordered the Mushroom Swiss. Burger heavily seasoned, CANNEDMUSHROOMS, raw onions old(meaning no taste) fries under done and over salted. Won’t be in a hurry to come back that’s for sure.

This is our first time eating here and we will definitely be back. The prices are reasonable and the food is very good. The burger was nicely seasoned and very flavorful, the bun didn’t get soggy and didn’t fall apart. They have lots of toppings to put on your burger. The large fries are large enough to share, although they were a bit salty in our opinion. The chocolate shake was amazing, very chocolatey and delicious. Overall this restaurants food was delicious and satisfying and did not break the bank. We feel this is a great alternative to five guys and we will be returning!

Never staffed enough. Beast of a woman at the counter. No one looks trained. Annoying oldies on the pa. Went twice. Little big burger is way better.

We’ve never been here before. We never know they’re here! I like their floor! Great burgers. French fries hand-cut, fresh. Exactly how I like them! Seats where we were(facing the street), kinda tight, I pushed the chair behind me as far as I could, so I could get in. What if there was someone there? I like to sit where there’s a view, and facing the street, there is a view. It’s also too close to the door! I also think they’re short-staff. But, we’ll probably try it again.

Half Way to A-Ok. Boardwalk is a tough one. It’s got spunk. It’s got just enough appeal to give you a twinge of nostalgia that makes you feel like your at a burger and fry shack at the beach in 1965. Then as you wipe away the grease and peer out the window at 82nd avenue in 2015, you quickly come back to town. Gave this a shot, and I think I will have to try again, but it won’t be soon. Like a lot of places that follow the trend in ‘premium’ fast food, this place has a great concept, and the fresh and cooked to order is worth a little extra money. I had an order of fries. $ 2.79 is cool for regular sized fries, more than enough to split with someone. Best fries I’ve had at one of these types of places, and a cut above the competition for sure. Hand cut, high quality, and not a total grease pit either. Fries come with your choice of sauce, and there’s like six options. It’s a nice touch. Chipotle sauce was great for me! Staff was very very nice, and even though they were running some promotion that was a long explanation to understand, I appreciated the effort. Plus they were doing a blood drive and I like that sort of thing from local businesses. You can tell they truly care. Main trouble here for me was the cleanliness. At 6pm when it’s dead slow on a Sunday and there’s greasy tables, seats with all sorts of crumbles, and a floor in need of a sweep, is inexcusable to this reviewer. While I saw staff members wiping and cleaning the back area, no attention was paid to the dining area which is priority one for customers. Boardwalk has a lot going for it, and I’m keeping it at 3 stars because I believe it will be better and they make a fine product but for me to come back I would like to see some changes.

Pro: Great hamburger. Really great bun. Love the fries. You can put a bunch of toppings at no extra cost. Made after you order them. Give you fries and drink in a combo deal. I like the restauant décor. Took a little from Chipotle style. Smaller space more private than five guys. Cheaper than them. Great for family. They have booths. I had to eat in car with husband cause Baby was sleeping. They let me go back to refill my drink. Staff was great helpful. Cons: minor stuff: fresh means it takes time. There was no crowd but if there were dont try it if you want super fast. Like i said cheaper than five guys but still a bit pricey. I shared fries and drinks with hubby. I used the Unilocal cupon. TOTALLYWORTHIT. Without it it would be too much. My husband wasn’t crazy about the mushroom topping but I loved it. We both got the single burger but if your a big strapping guy get the double. Im a big girl– single was enough. Give it a try. Great burgers really great fries.

This place the deadly combination subpar food with subpar pricing. Me and a buddy had a coupon so thought we’d give it a try. 2 burgers, large fry and a milkshake came out to be $ 23.00. Burgers were greasy, the paddy was thin, and fries were salty. There’s really not much more to say. Save your money and just go somewhere else.

Was disappointed. I’ve been to the Gresham location three times and always been happy. The food was blah and my fries were rock hard. We also had to wait for service because had to get something for her boss and he saw us standing there. I’ll make the longer trip to Gresham next time.

This is a good burger place. I’ve been to two of their locations now and continue to appreciate the quality of the food, reasonable prices and selection of toppings. I took advantage of the Unilocal deal and with that, we were out $ 11 for 2 burgers, one shake(at half price after 6) and a large fries. They have quite the selection of toppings — I had a burger with their chipotle sauce and paid extra for a side of chili. The wife added avacado to hers and we both were very happy. The place was pretty busy and yet the food came pretty quickly. The shake took a little longer but it was better than your average fast food milkshake so we thought it was worth the time. The fries are terrific — I’m a stickler for quality fries without any«coating» on them, and these are fresh and the real deal. The décor is fairly basic, comfortable and clean. Service is upbeat and efficient. The noise level wasn’t too bad. My only complaint is that the layout is challenged and there is a bottleneck when people try to pick up their food have to navigate around people in line to order.

My husband, daughters and I absolutely love this place. We first tried the one in Jantzen Beach last summer and fell in love with their food and REDVELVETMILKSHAKES!(Yeah, you heard me. They put an entire red velvet cupcake into the blender and the result is ridiculously delicious.) We prefer the 82nd location because it is more convenient for us location wise and the manager and staff remember us by name. :) Their burgers are solid. Fresh flavorful meat. Soft, squishy bun still sturdy enough to hold all the goodies. I like the Chipotle Burger, although I have had a few others and liked them very much, this is my go to. At BB you can add other toppings in addition to what already comes on it, and I always add grilled onions, yum! One of my other favorite things about this joint is that they have apple cider and malt vinegars, as well as Old Bay seasoning on the table. I’m a condiment junkie and who doesn’t love changing up the flavor profile of their ketchup?! And even in the cloudiness and cold of the Pacific NW, the ambiance in this place make you feel like you are sitting just a few feet from the beach at the Jersey shore.

I thought it was great. Vegan options, quick service. Son loved his burger, I liked my spicy bean burger lettuce wrap. Fries are good. Much better than vegan options elsewhere by a lot! Can’t wait for my husband to try. The shakes look amazing, but I’m not going there just yet.

Haven’t written a review in a long time but felt compelled after eating here yesterday. First I’ll say the fries are some of the best in town, I will come back for them. That’s what makes the next part sting so bad. How do you open a restaurant with BURGERS in the name and seemingly put so little effort or care into the burgers? The patty was advertised as «fresh made» but it didn’t taste fresh, maybe they make them and then freeze them… There wasn’t much taste to the burger and no sign that it had been fresh cooked, seemed pre-cooked and then warmed a la McDonalds. The lettuce on my burger was wilting, there was a tiny tomato slice, no dressing on the toasted top bun, so it was pretty dry. I got a BBQ cheddar burger and it had two tiny pieces of bacon on it that were indiscernible in flavor and texture. My wife had a mushroom burger and was equally unimpressed. I just don’t see how you put the effort and investment into a burger restaurant and then fail so completely to produce a decent burger. You could make a burger any way you want and you settle on this which I’d describe as what you’d expect at a baseball stadium or pre-killer burger rose garden. Not worth the money, and bummed me out as I am always down with a burger and a new business. Step your game up Boardwalk! Edited 1÷1÷2015: Okay, so I was contacted by the owner and asked to give this place another chance, which I obliged. I was impressed with the tone of his request and I appreciated that it didn’t feel defensive at all, and seemed to take what I’d originally posted to heart. So with that said, here’s my new review… The burgers were better this time, and good enough to be on the map as a place to get a burger. The buns were grilled on the flat top which I think is better than toasted by far. The fries are probably the best I’ve had in town. Both me and my wife enjoyed our meal and found the staff to be very attentive and engaged. I will say that with some of the burgers you have to specify that you want dressing on the burger, I’m sure the staff is supposed to ask but just in case they don’t, make sure you order them with mayo or mustard or something if it’s not expressly noted on the menu board. I had the Hawaiian burger and my wife had the Avocado Bacon and we were both pleased. So I’ve upgraded this from a 2 star to a 4 star and would recommend giving this place a try.

I see a lot of reviews that include a comparison to Five Guys, and I think that is spot-on. To keep it simple: * Fries: Equal * Food Selection: Medium Advantage Boardwalk * Food Quality: Strong Advantage Five Guys * Value: Minimal Advantage Five Guys * Will I return? No. I didn’t really know what to expect when I walked into Boardwalk, but it quickly became clear that they are in the fast-casual environment and very similar to Five Guys. At first glance it became clear that the selection at Boardwalk is quite a bit better than Five Guys. Five Guys keeps things REALLY simple, and Boardwalk likes to offer more variety. I can respect that. I also noticed that the price point at Boardwalk is just a bit higher than Five Guys. All other things being equal, I think this is fair due to the enhanced menu(compared to FG). Unfortunately, when I received my food, the comparisons became vastly different. The quality of the burger was nowhere near the quality of the burgers at Five Guys. Five Guys has hand-made patties(I believe) that are thick and very filling. Boardwalk has what appears to be pre-made patties that are incredibly thin. It was not at all filling and I would have received considerably more beef if I’d gone to McDonalds and ordered a McDouble off of their value menu. The inclusion of blue cheese is not enough to make the cost of this burger realistic. It is a VERY poor value for what you get. Outside of the food, the décor was nice and the process was simple, but the service was very slow and you could barely hear them employees when they called out the name on the order. Considering how close Boardwalk is to Five Guys, I will NEVER again go to Boardwalk. I will save a few dollars and get a MUCH better burger at Five Guys.
