I bought steaks, the cut free type ! When I got home to freezer wrap them, half of them were all fat !!! We were very dissatisfied, and will not be going back anytime soon!!!

Catered event, one item was BBQ chicken, it couldn’t be more dry and kinda burnt, way overcooked and very disappointed.

Was at the Thurmont Colorfest, Thurmont MD with the family and stopped at Sensenig’s Meat bbq booth on a beautiful fall day. I ordered on of their huge turkey to munch on while walking around. The T-​leg was outstanding. The leg was smoked, juicy, and full of flavor and full of meat. Normally turkey legs at fairs are dry and kind of stringy. These legs were incredible. These legs were bbq’ed slowly to help retain their moisture, flavor, and smokey pink hue. I definitely get another one next near.

First and last time I will ever try to do business with them. I ordered 4 lbs of pulled pork for Sunday at 5 pm for my daughter’s ballet party. Several days in advance. They left a message for me a day later informing me that they are only open until 4pm. Tried to call them back but couldn’t get ahold of anyone. This is the definition of bad business! !!

*shudder* dirty dirty place inside. flies and grime abound. they once tried to sell my mom a rotten filet. when the butcher handed the bag she asked what is that smell and knew it was coming from the bag. butcher said oh i guess that one wasn’t good. go here at your own risk!

I like this place. Meat, pork, chicken, etc. are all good. You can buy local eggs here, that’s a big plus. I have purchased briskets and pork shoulders for my smoker and the meat is fresh and high quality. Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is one lady that’s a little gruff and not the most polite person I’ve ever met but one bad apple shouldn’t spoil the bunch. You will know her when you hear her, she has a completely different tone than the rest of the staff.
I went today and made a large purchase for New Year’s dinner. They were having an issue with one of their coolers. They still found the time to assist me with my needs while they were working on the cooler. Everyone was super friendly today and very helpful. I purchased a pork shoulder, huge pork tenderloin, a ham bone, turkey sausage, 1 doz eggs, house-​smoked cheese (DELICIOUS STUFF), 1 lb of bacon, and 2 containers of house-​made sauerkraut.
A previous poster mentioned the market stands that are run by Sensenig’s. There is also a stand on Saturday mornings at the Hanover Farmer’s Market. I like this stand. There is this super cute and friendly lady that works there. I like when she waits on me. She is top notch.

Good local butcher! Also has stands at Eastern Market in York on Friday as well as Morningstar Market in Thomasville on Saturdays and Sundays. Highly recommend their meats, freshness never an issue and often have really good specials. Particularly recommend the turkey sausages, all the varities, make a good healthier alternative to many recipies that call for pork sausage, even can stand alone on a roll with some peppers and onions. Not a wide varitity of cheeses, but do sell one of my favorite sharp cheddar cheese. Also sell pit meat sandwiches, which I have tried and can recommend.

We had Sensenig’s cater my daughter’s graduation party and have to say — they are the best! We got the baked beans (excellently sweet), pulled pork, pit beef, rolls, ears of corn, potato salad (made from other local company). Everyone at the party raved how good the food was. On a whim after picking up my new Traeger BBQ smoker grill, I stopped in for some steaks to ‘break-​in’ my new grill, I got 15 cuts of New York Strip for $ 65! This was purchased in a bulk slab that they sliced on the spot. It was likely one of the best steaks I’ve grilled. Maybe it was the grill, maybe it was the excellent cuts of organically raised beef. I will not purchase meat anywhere else from now on…

Sensenig’s serves a great beef sandwich. It is not «pit beef» baltimore style, but is a great smokey, slower cooked beef sliced thin and served on a kaiser type roll. You add toppings. Their bbq sauce is great a tangy lightly vinegary bbq that adds to beef flavor not overpowers it. I get bbq, onions and horse radish. The hr is always fresh so go easy on it or you will pay.
You can get beef inside when bbq trailer is not outside, but if the bbq is active outside (seems like mostly Saturdays when they are not at some event). The beef is at its best, don’t drive past…
