Made reservations for Valentines Eve for 4:30. Drove three hours to have dinner with my daughter who is attending college nearby. Great food, cozy place, but the service was so bad, I am not sure I will return.

This restaurant is a step above most restaurants in the area. The menu selection, food quality, and presentation of the meals are great. First night, had their wild caught salmon. Excellent. Second night, had their Pepper New York strip steak medium. Also excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

Never again. Ever. We went here for our birthday celebration dinners. His is the day after mine. We both got extremely sick afterward. It was obvious food poisoning. Quick, violent, and over very quickly. The only thing our meals had in common was the artichoke dip appetizer. I wrote an email to them the next day, letting them know what happened. The response I got was unbelievable. It went something like this: «We’re sorry you got sick, but it could not possibly have been caused by *our* food…» Things happen. Mistakes are made. It’s how you respond that makes the difference. This response tells us that our business is NOT appreciated.

I don’t normally write restaurant reviews, but I thought the service was exceptional and the food was great. I guess it’s more of a straight up recommendation than anything else. Wednesday was my third visit to Jessie’s and it once again didn’t disappoint. The ambience was dark, comforting(and surprisingly inviting), the food menu was quite extensive along with their tap & wine list. Prices are reasonable. They were fairly busy, especially for a Wednesday evening, but I called an hour in advance to get a table and we were seated immediately. There was a mixed crowd; families with children, couples, older and younger… it had a good energy. If you’re near Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital or in Hanover, it would be worth the stop. It’s possible that they may have ‘the best’ bread out of any restaurant in recent memory(or at least that I can recall:)…be sure to try it and you may think the same.

Good service most of the time. Very Good beef. Salad bar pretty poor… not as good as your average grocery store. They prepare fish well too. TOP notch Oysters. The brunches are pretty good too. Not a lot of negative to say other than their furniture is getting old and wobbly.

Went there for the first time with a friend. She has been recommending me to go there to try their prime ribs. oh, sweet Lord. I ordered a medium rare and it was perfect –i couldnt remember if i actually cried or not. the butternut squash was also heartmelting. i think i actually ruined my mascara –oh well, friday night who cares. hahahaha. my waiter Sarah was amazing! give this girl a raise! why: it was late around 8:30PM, and my friend and i gotta keep our belly flat. so we asked her if she could do the prime ribs in a half; medium rare for me, medium for my friend. she didn’t give us an attitude for ordering just 1 entrée. i live 2hr away, and can’t wait to come back. ah!

Sat at the bar for dinner while in town on business. Service was excellent and food was very good. My only complaint was $ 16 for a hamburger was a bit much. This isn’t NYC

My son and I had dinner here on a very busy Saturday night. He had the filet mignon and I had the prime rib. Both were very good. The brie cheese appetizer(new at the time) was excellent, but did not come with enough bread to handle the cheese! Our waiter was attentive and recommended some worthy choices. I have eaten here several times and I will say that Jesse’s does not disappoint!

A big group of us were here on a Monday night. Considering how busy it was and our group, all the food came out nearly the same time. Good service, well coordinated, friendly. The apps were great, my tuna dinner was good, not great but considering all that was going on…

Simply amazing. Delicious food — every one was pleased, amazing service and the drink selection was wonderful too(awesome bartender Sarah creates them all, very festive fun and tasty!) we had the steak, nachos & salad. Everyone single table around us seemed just as pleased. I would move to NH just to try the entire menu. Well done, Jessie’s ! Well done

This place rates 5 stars… The food was fantastic. We went here twice and both times were great. The wait staff was attentive. Nice ambience. Think hunting lodge and you can picture the décor. First time here on Sunday we both ordered the Prime Rib dinner. Talk about tender, well-seasoned meat… it was some of the best I have had. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans and both sides complemented the meat well. Dinner was so filling we couldn’t eat dessert so we ordered the home-made pumpkin spice cupcakes to take home. They were worth the wait. The pastry chef really earns her salary. Only thing I can say is if you can only visit one restaurant in the area, choose this one. Second time here we came on Sunday during the Brunch Buffet. It had a lot of options from the fantastic salad bar(could have eaten from here all day) to well prepared breakfast foods and dinner options. The beef and ham stations were presented well. Cheesy grits were good as well. Desserts: most were made off site but tasted great. Would rather go for a meal off the menu than go to the brunch again. Guess I like my food prepared fresh for me. Still one of the best restaurants in the area so take the time to visit.

Underwhelming is the best way to describe this place. It’s not that the food is bad, per se – more that more could be accomplished with the food. When I went, I was surprised to see my request for a medium-rare bumped up to a medium(honestly, a medium-well). Service was also pretty slow, which tested patience after a long travel day.

Jesse’s has the same owner as Molly’s, located in Hanover. Like Molly’s, Jesse’s is a place you won’t want to miss. A huge parking lot was available, as well as abundant seating(indoor and outdoor). Although my group of 10 did not have a reservation, the hostess was able to seat us rather quickly. Service was fantastic and the live music was great. I enjoyed the teriyaki steak with veggies and fries. It was fantastic! Although a bit pricey, it’s overall worth it!

This is the place to go in the upper valley. I have never had a bad meal at Jesse’s. I’ve had the scallops, steak, burgers and a few appetizers and they have always been great. The staff is courteous and very friendly. They have an excellent team. The bartenders are superb. Great place to go for happy hour.

When your whole party of 13 relatives walks out of a restaurant saying«that place was a great choice for dinner» someone is obligated to post a good review so other families can enjoy themselves. We dined at jesses this past Saturday night and they treated our large table of kids and adults really well. The staff appears very well trained, friendly and attentive. The drink selection impressed me, with a nice balance of wine, craft beers(including many New England brews), unique cocktails and non alcoholic beverages. We loved the unique atmosphere of the place; the log cabin setting is very comforting and there is so much interesting décor to look at. The restaurant was clean and seemed very well organized. A number of us enjoyed the salad bar which had a good balance of basics and unique items including seasoned peel & eat shrimp. For dinner we ordered a variety of seafood, chicken, pork, steak and kids meals. The menu also had several gluten-free options marked which was important for my nephew. Everything was well prepared and came out hot. I really liked my ribs and had plenty to bring home for late night snacking. The menu had changed since a previous visit by my sister in law but the chef was able to accommodate what she wanted when she described the previous entrée to our server. My moms typically complicated request was managed without a flaw(always a good barometer for a restaurant). Overall this was a great experience and I value that given the size/complexity of our group. So why only 4 and not 5 stars? The menu was as little random having some Thai-themed dishes which didn’t fit this type of place and a tater tot appetizer that also seemed misplaced. In lieu of that randomness I wish the seafood selection had included at least one other type of fish besides salmon and shellfish. Either something local or basic like grouper, tilapia, etc. To be fair the shellfish selection was good and our family enjoyed it but I was surprised the fish dimension of a steak/seafood restaurant was so narrow. Nonetheless Jesse’s is a place I really look forward to visiting again the next time we’re back visiting our family here. I know we can look to a great meal, friendly service and wonderful atmosphere.

I’ve been to Jesse’s a few times. I think a more honest rating would be 2.5 stars, but I just can’t do it. Despite not being a chain, Jesse’s feels only a small step ahead of a TGI Friday’s. The restaurant is huge and has a menu to match it. The food offerings are a little all over the place – tater tot appetizers, entrees consistent with their steak and seafood theme, some Thai-inspired dishes… I’ve tried a few different items, and unfortunately they’re all pretty mediocre. The pre-meal bread is actually kind of bad. On my first visit I got a steak(since that’s what they’re known for), but it was entirely forgettable. I’ve tried the French onion soup, which is very thin(I like it a little more hearty) with a slice of bread(not croutons) and mozzarella cheese. The salad bar is definitely a highlight – multiple types of greens, lots of veggies, many dressings, lots of crunchy toppings, etc.(although it has downsized in recent years). The steak fries are also decent. The presentation of most dishes is pretty good. The price per person is easily $ 15 unless you get a steak dish, in which case you can expect to pay more than $ 20 per person. It does have a kid’s menu. In my experience, the staff has been very friendly, and the restaurant and restrooms are clean. Overall, Jesse’s isn’t a place that I would seek out.

Jesse’s bills itself as a steak and seafood restaurant, but it’s basically an Applebee’s with a more rustic atmosphere. They have some serious identity issues. They’ve recently added multiple Thai dishes to their menu to try to diversify, but seriously who has ever heard of a steak restaurant serving Thai? I’ve been coming here for twenty years with my family. It’s been on a downwards spiral for a while. Every time they make a change it’s for the worse. I would not order a steak here. The only thing that they do well is the salad bar(some time in the past few years it went from being something that came with your meal to something you can add on for $ 6). The clam chowder used to fall into that category as well, but they’ve ruined that(everyone who ordered it in our group tonight had more than half of their bowl left). Their brunch is a joke. My brother ordered an omelette and they finished it in an oven. I have never seen that happen in a restaurant before. If you don’t know how to cook eggs, you probably don’t have business preparing breakfast. To end on a nice note, I still enjoy the log cabin feel and the staff is all very friendly and competent. I wouldn’t advise patronizing this establishment though.

We haven’t been to Jessie’s Steak House in a long long time. Our last experience at the restaurant was not good at all. The food Was plain the steaks have no flavor and the vegetables were soggy. Well not tonight! I had a delicious New York strip steak, cooked to perfection with a side of baked potato and vegetables. I have to say that was very good. I will try Jessie’s again!

My family and I came here on 6÷8÷2014 for my cousin’s graduation from Dartmouth. My uncle knew it would be busy, so reservations were made for later in the evening. This was a great idea! Very lovely establishment, with a great patio. It’s kind of tucked away off of the highway. The menu was great, not an overwhelming amount of items, which I love. Great ambience ! I saw the fireplace, and thought it would be nice to enjoy this, but yeah it was summer! LOL! We were greeted promptly by our server, who was very nice and cordial. She was attentive the entire time ! I ordered the steak, with mashed sweet potatoes, and green beans. They handled medium well perfectly ! The food was impeccable in my opinion. The steak was like butta! It’s such an intimate setting, which is great for family dinners, and celebrations, not too many people were around us. That night, there was a birthday celebration going on and the birthday guy shared his carrot cake, which was so sweet! They had so much to go around. I don’t know if they made the cake, but it was good too! LOL! I highly recommend this place, if you are ever mysteriously in Hanover ! :)
