Lots of variety in this small but well stocked pan Asian grocery store. Staff strives to be friendly and helpful even if their English isn’t always strong. Decent prices and a good selection make this a worthwhile stop, especially if you don’t feel like going to H Mart in Schaumburg or hauling yourself all the way to Mitsuwa in AH.

Asian Markets are not too hard to find in the burbs, but this one is the closes to my house and I needed to find some«hard-to-find» asian food items that weren’t going to be findable at the local Super Target. May Jean Supermarket is a small, but well-stocked asian food mart. It had almost anything you’d want. I was looking for ingredients for cassava cake and INPARTICULAR frozen grated cassava. They had it there in their fridges for a fair price as well. They had all different asian food items there Filipino, Thai, Chinese and even Japanese as well as some fresh produce like bean sprouts and other exotic type fruits and vegetables. They have their own parking lot and the check-out was quick. They also have a small array of baked goods from a Chicago-based chinese bakery. I have yet to get there when they are more stocked, I usually go towards the end of the day and I’m sure all the yummy chinese baked goods are depleted by then. I may have to check May Jean earlier in the day! :)

Small hidden gem. This is where I get my Oyster sauce, Golden Mtn sauce, Asian bbq sauce, fish sauce, veggies, spring roll wrappers, Indo Mi goreng, asian market snaks, Jasmine rice and anything else I need in a pinch. On the weekends if you are early they have fresh dishes and dessert from the city at a reasonable price.
