Arco AMPM

My only reason for really coming here is for the cheap gas. Otherwise I’m annoyed by the fact they charge you a $ 0.35 fee for using debit. Isn’t debit like using cash? I know this isn’t the only place that does this, but it drives me nuts. Another negative on this place is that you have to hit it as your leaving town. If your intentions are to go back north on 12^th, as it usually is in my case, only option is to head south and make a U-​turn at the new Tractor Supply and come back over the 198. Location, location, location. Not too many options in H-​town. Today I was especially annoyed as it wasn’t busy but as I was finishing up, a gentlemen approached me and thankfully he was dressed very nicely, in a suit and tie and handed my religious pamphlets. I’m not fond of random strangers approaching me at a gas station, but this guy’s demeanor didn’t immediately set off my Spidey senses and my instinct to kick this guy’s butt didn’t kick in right away, thankfully for him. Annoying yes, but he was quick in his spiel and we both went our separate ways. The things I do to save a buck.
For anyone interested in saving a little on gas and is leaving town this is the place to go. Be warned though, they do charge a fee for using debit and you might encounter a religious solicitor.

went there for gas and paid for a car wash after filling up. was given the code to punch in and get my truck washed. at the keyboard station the screen read… SORRY ! TEMPORARILY CLOSED. you got any idea how hard it is to back up? These bastards are selling car washes knowing that the car wash machine isnt even working ! No phone number on the receipt except arco corporate headquarters and they are closed for the weekend. GRRRR

This station is usually the Cheapest in Hanford. But it is almost always crowded, and when ever I have tried to buy gas there, my card is usually declined.

As with most ARCO AMPM locations they consistently have a competitive price for gasoline. HOWEVER, it has been noticed that their outside pay station hardly ever work when paying with a credit/​debit card. My husband believes this is a ploy to get people inside the store and buying other stuff. We finding this pretty annoying and sometimes it even moves us to find another gas station :-/
UPDATE: The price for gas is not worth the abounding unsavory characters that you find on a regular basis at this location.

So, I rarely come here for gas — I really dont like those kind of stations that make you pay at one station in the middle of pumps. That’s inconvenient — & speaking of inconvenient, the location here — boo! I completely agree with Vee Vee — heaven help you if you come from ampm and then remember you need to go back to the mall/​target area! that means you have to go allll the way down to hfd-​arm to make a u-​turn.
However. Inside the store it’s nice, new & shiny. there’s hot food (although i havent been starving enough to try it, ha) & most importantly, the fountain drink station includes both coke & pepsi and your choice of cubed or «crunch» ice. for a pepsi fountain drinker addict like myself (i may be an addict in a class unto herself, i dunno) this is as close as i’m gonna get on this side of town when it comes to crushed ice. for now they have these cards where you buy 3 drinks (you can «mix & match» meaning icees, fountain drinks, coffee) you get the 4^th free. i’m all over that :) the staff here — i usually come around the same time during the week, so i see the same people & they are really friendly.

It drives me crazy that there is only one way in and one way out of this place, it causes there to be a lot of congestion going south-​bound on 12^th Ave. And yeah I dont like how you cant use your credit card, only ATM and get charged for it. At first they said it wouldnt always be that way, but so far they havent changed it. The curly headed guy at the front counter is sooooo not friendly!!!
There is nothing here that stands out to me, only will stop here if I need to on the way home.

I don’t always come here because it annoys me that they don’t accept credit cards and that they charge a fee for using your ATM card, but any time I know I have $ 2 in my wallet and I’m in the area I stop by JUST to use their fountain drink machine. They have a HUGE variety and a bunch of things you can only get there like their orange crème, watermelon and horchata. Just a few of my favorites. I think part of the reason I like coming here for a drink is because it reminds me of the racetracs from home.
Apparently they have a decent ready to eat selection as well, but I would never know because I don’t usually carry that much cash on me.
