Even though this just a small (but important) stop if you’re heading from Acadia to Down East, I had to write a review for it because of its pizza. It’s awesome! I’m pretty picky about pizza and will avoid it if at all possible, but the kids really wanted some so we decided to have a nibble here. I ate three pieces myself, which had my husband in shock. We ate two whole pizzas because they were so good. The owner is very friendly, too.
Follow-​up — I wrote this review on our way away from this place, but never updated it to tell you that we stopped in on our way home as well, just to have more pizza.

If you’re heading Downeast via the Blacks Woods Road, this is the best place to stop for gas & snacks before taking the plunge. It’s easily accessible from all directions, there are plenty of gas pumps, and the store has more than enough provisions to keep you fat & happy whilst your car grunts and heaves its way up Catherine’s Hill. Maybe lay off the snacks a little and your car won’t have to work so hard… ;D
