We love this little spot. Great specials every day. Clean as a pin, too! Very nice staff.

Run away, run away unless you were born in Buckroe Beach. Townie bar with unfriendly atmosphere.

From what I can gather from my friends, this place has been here forever. Lately, it has been the subject of a running conversation between us, along the lines of «what are you guys up to today? Heading out to get some sliders. Wanna come?» I’d have to pass on the invite for a variety of reasons. Until today. Smallish, roomy place, with multiple TV’s, a pool table, and several tables and chair sets, along with a short bar. A worn comfortable, hole in the wall place. My buddah’s swear that the food here is good, so today we met up and headed out. Today was Dollar chicken, or burger Sliders Day(BBQ usually is available but did not get delivered). Judy, our cook/server/all around gal Friday, took our drink orders(Budweiser products only — no Yuengling) and out food orders. Not knowing what to expect, I ordered heavy; 2 burger sliders and 2 chicken sliders. Fries and onion rings(for the table). A few minutes later Judy cam popping out of the kitchen with a full armload of food baskets. Slider sets for the three of us and a huge basket full of fries and ring. Reviewing food to me is like watching the guy on Ed Sullivan who used to spin plates on wooden dowels. A lot eventually got to be going on, before the grand finale. I judge expectations against the perceived reality of the place in question. I saw a small tavern, and expected bar food. I saw sliders and expected McAwful’s. What the reality of the event turned out to be was unexpected. Everything was hot and freshly prepared. While the sliders were bread heavy, they were also made up of large pieces of grilled hamburger(I swear I detected a slight spicy sausage taste as well) and large portions of chicken tenders. Our basket of fries, overflowing as it were, were hot and just out of the heat. The three of us slowly walked out, filled to the gills and our bill, even with a hefty tip, was very reasonable. The tavern was clean, did not smell of cigarettes. It was quiet today, although I suspect it can get loud when the place is fulled up. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased. My buddah’s had been talking the praises of this place to me for weeks. I just was not ready to take a leap of faith, not completely believing that my reality and expectations would be so drastically different. The Mill Creek Tavern is on the other side of the world from me. But when I catch up with my buddah’s again, for lunch on Thursday, you can bet this will be one of my suggestions.

I’ve driven past this place almost daily for 8 years, although I am not sure it has been the same name or had the same owners for that period of time. I finally decided to try it after seeing a couple people I know check in and comment about how good the food is. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside is nice — very clean and comfortable. The two people working when I visited were awesome — I assume they’re the owners, but I do not know for sure. They were super friendly and very attentive. They offer eat in and take out. It has indoor and outdoor seating(booths and tables) and a long bar with very nice bar stools. The menu is small but has all the good stuff — burgers, wings, sandwiches, salads, etc. They also have beer on draft — all Budweiser products. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger — ½ pound with good quality freshly cooked bacon. It was delicious. For the side I had onion rings — they were good too. Everything was freshly prepared. My wife had a soft shell crab sandwich and fries — which was the special. She really liked it too — very fresh and cooked perfectly. I’ll definitely be back — looking forward to trying Taco Tuesday! It’s located on Mallory Street — on the right hand side if you’re coming from the highway heading to Buckroe Beach.
