Quaint little diner! Staff is friendly and service is prompt. Food was piping hot, with generous portion sizes. Hard to find, because it’s tucked away in a strip mall, but is definitely a gem hidden on Pembroke Ave! Remember to hit up the ATM first, because this is a cash only restaurant!

The kids and I really enjoyed breakfast here, this may very well become our new weekend spot! We’re usually up and at it pretty early, so it wasn’t crowded, not sure if it does get very crowded, but it isn’t huge. We had pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, hash, and everything was great! It’s hard to get my youngest to eat sometimes and he had a bit of everything, so kid approved is an A+ in my book for sure.

This was a great southern meal. I would give it 5 stars but the hostess wasnt very friendly and the pancakes were little. Besides that it was a cool little hole in the wall spot. I had a western omelette and it was extra cheesy which I loved:)

We found this local place while on vacation in the Hampton Roads area — and loved it. My favorite breakfast dish is a «skillet breakfast» where all the ingredients are layered and cooked together in a large dish/skillet — and Laura’s was one of the best I ever had. I also asked for an extra order of biscuits and gravy because the first order was so good. My wife’s omelette was stuffed with fresh ingredients, including farm fresh vegetables, and cooked to perfection. Excellent home-cooking at a good price.

I read good reviews about this place and wanted to try it out. I was a little wary when I saw that it is a tiny little restaurant, tucked away into the corner of a sleepy shopping center, and when I walked in the place it was almost empty. After a quick trip to the ATM at the family dollar a couple of shops down(they are cash only) I started to check out the menu. The menu was smaller than I expected it to be and there didn’t seem to be anything remarkable on it. I ordered the daily special which was a spinach, egg, and cheese wrap(white cheese substituted as suggested by the waitress) with cheese grits and I also order a side of French toast. Once I got my food is when all the great reviews made perfect sense. Everything was so good! I don’t know exactly what they did to the French toast but it’s definitely the best I’ve ever had. The waitress was also super attentive and super friendly. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Went here for the first time with the fam bam based on reviews. Simple, moms kitchen style place. Went around 9:15 am on a Sunday was busy but not full… Yet. Service was nice, food came quick. Could hear some sweet 70’s and 80’s tunes coming from the kitchen where the cooks were probably rocking out. Food arrived hot, simple and tasty. Good amount of food for your money, you leave full but not like food coma full. You could still go and enjoy a day of shopping or whatnot, if you know what I mean. When we left the line was out the door. Don’t let the shady little strip mall scare you away, definitely a little gem on there :). CASHONLYFYI

I came in for breakfast and ordered the country fried steak with eggs and a side of hash browns. The service was great but the food was very greasy and bland. The hash browns were tasteless and swimming in grease. The gravy over the country fried steak was good but the steak itself was again swimming in grease and very bland. After reading all the reviews on here I was very disappointed. I will not try it again.

The red velvet pancakes I had were delicious. Considering that today is a holiday, they were out of almost everything, but everyone was friendly. I wouldn’t mind going back to try their lunch menu.

Finaaaally made it to Laura’s! Everyone kept telling me I had to try it out and now I’m on board 100%! I got the omelette special of the day — ham, swiss, and spinach. Oh man, I wish I had taken a photo, but I was too hungry and it looked so good. It came with hash browns(or grits) and toast(option of wheat, white, or biscuit was nice). I would definitely come here again! I love supporting local and this place is doing it right. The food tastes like it came straight from my mom’s kitchen. Well… better, actually. It’s okay, I plan to take her soon and she’ll probably say the same thing.

A little place that’s decorated like my mothers kitchen. The service is great, the food is sturdy and homemade not fantastic but okay. It’s also cash only so be prepared. Good thing the food is reasonably priced. Overall this is an average diner. We came in for brunch at 1230 and were seated right away. We were then informed that they now close at 1pm and that they were out of breakfast items. The lunch menu is only sandwiches, wraps, and a couple salads. I had the BBQ pork. It was a big helping and had a sauce but it was bland. It had no tang or spice. My friend had the Philly cheesesteak wrap, it was nothing to write about… tortilla with grilled steak and cheese. I’d love to give this place a second chance but I won’t drive out of the way to do it.

Initially, I came here to do my usual Sunday brunch. Arrived at exact 12:30, a friend and I, was advised that breakfast is no longer available. Left with no choice but to order something to eat as we are both terribly hungry. The lunch menu was small and nothing much to choose. It consists of salads, wraps and freaking burgers. During my recent visit, I ordered the Philly steak wrap served with a french fries. I have no words to describe but bland and unseasoned. I had to put tomato ketchup just to add flavor. What a disappointment!!! In my mind, I wanna give them a chance to come back and try there breakfast menu but I won’t waste my time to drive for an hour for just a breakfast. You know what they say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. I hate to do this but I just wished that I get the wonderful experience as what other people stated in their reviews. I don’t asked much attention but to be served fairly. I can be generous with a extra tip if I like the service. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen as I expected. I am a huge fan of diner and local restaurant but this place didn’t work with me at all. I have absolutely no desire to come back.

went to the place on suggestion of a friend who has not steered me wrong in the past Nice, clean, friendly atmosphere. Small place in a strip mall. Food was good, but plain. Had breakfast, not sure how lunch would be.

Great food & very reasonable prices! We came here during our beach trip and did not expect the fantastic service & awesome food. I had the biscuits & gravy with hash browns & it was just like home cooking. The service was friendly & attentive. We will definitely come back next time we hit the beach!

The biscuits, gravy, and grits are prime examples of how we do a delicious breakfast in the south! Prompt & friendly service. Will return in the future. Don’t be fooled by the run down shopping center— this place is a quaint and adorable little diner.

First of all, it’s cash only, so make sure you have enough. I had an omelette and it was delicious. We were less impressed with the french toast. Our waitress wasn’t very attentive or friendly to us but she was more friendly with other tables with regular customers. Nice atomosphere for a small diner. We thought it was slightly better than Jack’s at least. Will probably come back again since it’s so close to where we live.

Good Food, Good Price… Nice friendly people… Great little local diner… We like have a weekend breakfast meet ups with extended family… Smaller seating area but haven’t had to wait yet… it’s actually kind nice when it’s a full house or really empty. Just different feels… thanks Laura… Keep it going…

Love this restaurant. Generous portions, friendly service, and love the family owned, family run atmosphere. Shop has a small front in the corner of the shopping center so you have to look for it. Come by. . You won’t be disappointed if you like good olé American style dinner cooking and downtime ambience. AP.

This place is awesome. Everything I’ve had on their menu is delicious. Good Southern food. We’ve taken friends from out of town there on 3 separate occasions and they’ve loved it as well. Very well priced, and the people are really nice. Definitely my favorite breakfast spot in Hampton
