Went for Taco night on a Wednesday. Ordered tacos and margaritas since they had a special on the margaritas for $ 3. After placing our order we were informed that they were out of taco meat so we ordered different things off the menu instead. We had read on their website and were also told when we arrived that our first order of chips and salsa were free, so we asked for an order of the chips and salsa. After waiting for a little over 1 hour(yep, 1 hour on a Wed night) for our food to arrive we asked again about the order of chips as we were getting hungry waiting for so long and no chips had yet appeared. Apparently after being out of the food we wanted(tacos on taco night) and waiting for over an hour and still not having anything to eat, they decided we should not be able to get free chips and they should charge us for them. Seriously? Fine, skip the chips an hour later. Finally get our food that was just OK and then we get the checks. Overcharged for the margaritas and then told maybe the margarita we ordered weren’t on sale so they were $ 5 instead of $ 3(and they were not any good either). Our friend ordered her margaritas on the rocks and because she ordered them on the rocks that was 50 cents more per drink? Never heard of that one before. Horrible customer service, long wait, mediocre food and being overcharged. Won’t return any time soon.

The food, environment, and staff are phenomenal! I always come in for the stuffed burger every Thursday and have never been disappointed. They grind their own beef using three different cuts of meat. I have always wanted to try other items on the menu, but have always deferred to their burgers. In addition, I love the changes they made during their remodel in ~April/May 2015. The inside turned out wonderfully and the outside seating is perfect during the summer/early fall. As for some that have commented on slowness during busy times liked the weekends and such, I have a bit of advice, «When you go to a popular place at a busy time, there are going to be waits.» If you are in a rush or your goal is to get in get out in 30 minutes or an hour during peak times, during the weekends move on to the next place. I enjoy unwinding and relaxing after a week that is hectic. Lastly, they have a professionally trained chef on staff who is very creative. Not something you will find at a smaller joint like Dan’s. Definitely would recommend Dan’s to someone who wants great food at a place that is tucked away in New Trier, MN.

The cheeseburger I just had made me moan with pleasure! I loved that they let my daughter order off the kids menu even though she is above 12. Friendly service!

Stopped as we passed thru. First time here. Nice cozy spot, friendly service and great lunch. Both of us had burgers. Came out pipping hot as were the fries. Excellent bun lightly toasted. We will be back and will spread the word as to a great spot to stop.

Quick lunch service and impressive menu given it’s rural location. Plan to visit again in the future.

We’ve been driving past Dan’s every Monday for years and always wanted to stop, but they are closed on Mondays. Yesterday(Sunday) we finally had a chance to go in, and we are glad we did! The food was really good, they have your basic favorites that one would hope most bar and grills have, and then they have some real interesting and unique items on the menu to choose from. I had the Scooter Burger and my friend had the French Dip Burger. Both stuffed burgers were out of this world. The drinks were also very reasonably priced! It did take a little longer than average for the food to come out, but it was well worth the wait!

We’ve enjoyed our stops at dan’s since moving to Rosemount. It’s a scenic drive and menu is interesting and incentive(cream cheese wonton burger!). Drawbacks are that staff is friendly but seemingly uninformed, no baby changer in bathroom(mentioned multiple times), they charge for to go orders(though don’t mention this when ordering) and fruit cup was old and overripe. Not bad for a small town dive bar but probably not worth the $ 50 lunch either.

Walked in, waited to be seated as the sign said… waited, waited, waited… so we went to sit at the bar. Cramped, but that was all there was. Ordered our drinks, Bud Light for my friend and a double Jameson neat for me with a glass of water. One bartender disappeared and they were SLAMMED! Tried to get the bartenders attention for menu’s and finally did. Waited again to order and finally did. Discovered that my seat and the dirty dish/glassware drop-off were one and the same. I would have moved except we were already packed in. Watch your booze. Went to wash my hands, left my wallet, phone and shades at the bar next to my friend, and while I was gone, they took a full glass of booze from inside the circle of my things, then, didn’t want to give me new one. Not a fan of people messing with my spirits. My bud didn’t notice the theft because he was trying to get the one bartenders attention. But anyway, how do you take a nearly full lowball of booze from a place where someone is OBVIOUSLY sitting(phone, wallet, sunglasses)? I told the bartender what had happened, thinking she might have taken it, and she gave me a smile, like yeah. Finally, she splashes a bit of Jameson in a shot glass and gives me that, the promptly eff’s off to parts unknown. Food shows up finally… we’re talking about 45 minutes plus and we were sitting at the bar. The food was okay. Nothing great but not bad. As I’m eating my meal, I put down my glass of water, pick up my burger and in that moment, my glass of water was gone. They HAVE to move that drop off, or just lose the seat and put up a rail. This shit is ridiculous. Got another glass of water, and as I’m eating I see a hand coming for my jigger of Jamie… instead of forking it like I wanted to, I grabbed it and pushed the guys hand away. I mean WTH? I think it’s safe to say that they were stupidly understaffed considering they were a shuttle to and from a local ball game with a post game happy hour and live band. The dirty dish/glass drop off needs to get moved, or get rid of the seat. And YOUNEVERTOUCH A GLASSOFBOOZE without asking the nearest person if they’re done with it. It’s the only game in town, so you’re FUBAR if you want something different. Me? I think I’ll keep riding until I find another place. Paid for a double, got a splash, and their $ 12 burger isn’t worth it.

This review is reflective of their Friday Fish Fry. I’m not sure what I would return to try, but I know it won’t be their fish! For two years since starting my fish fry adventure in search of the very best, I’ve been told by so many people that Dan’s is the place for Friday Fish Fry’s. Well, people definitely like since there is always a wait and the locals will surely wait. There are certainly positives to take away from my first visit to Dan’s; the filet’s are plentiful, the badder is thin, instead of thick and disgusting and the fries are fantastic. However, I’ve had better and can certainly make better as well. It was the blandest fish found on the list, that’s a guarantee. Might have to head back to try something else on the menu, but I’m not quite sure what it should be!

I was pleasantly surprised for a smAll town bar and grill this place is good. Everything I’ve had there so far has been great. The service has always been excellent. We often take the long way home to hit this one. The bartenders are good too. Never had a complaint and their bloody Mary’s, mmmmmm!

The bartender is not friendly, he is rude and it follows the stereotype of a small town redneck” he wasn’t welcoming at all and he made us feel uncomfortable with his comments, we couldn’t even play music that we wanted. Their salad bar is a joke, old lettuce, old vegetables that they shouldn’t even being served to the public. This is the worst food experience ever, forget about their grilled cheese, don’t even go there…

Dan’s serves great hamburgers. This visit, we came for the taco special on Wednesday night. Bad choice. The taco meat was sweet and contained corn. Instead of salsa, they serve a sweet, smooth chili sauce to dip the flavorless nachos in and pour on the taco. Sweet on top of sweet. Not good and not a meal I’ll come back for.

What is better than a Bloody Mary post-wedding dance morning? Not much. And Dan’s Bloody Mary? One of the best. Spicy and smooth, this definitely takes the edge off all that keg beer you drank the night before. You may still feel the martini’s but the throb has definitely faded. The triple stacked grilled cheese and sweet potato fries may have something to do with that too. Not only did this place serve up the perfect hangover cure, the service was super friendly, funny and welcoming. «Small town nice» does exist folks, and its right in Hampton, MN. In fact, the cook just so happened to see 3 ladies stumbling across the parking lot looking lost(because Dan’s doesn’t open till 11) so he opened it 15 minutes early for us. Thank you TJ. Thank you Dan’s. We will be back.
