Backstage Bistro Gourmet Sandwich and Catering Shoppe

This storefront has been open for probably over a year, maybe 2 now. When it first opened, I was in heaven because they make a hellva sandwich. My personal favorite is their version of what I call a Thanksgiving sandwich — turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce in a sandwich. They use Boar’s Head meats and have a good selection of salads and sides to go with the sandwiches. I would say that service is a bit slow there each time I went, but honestly the sandwiches are worth the wait.
So why 2 stars you ask? I gave them 1 star for each time I was able to successfully purchase from them after I went the first time. Their hours of operation are supposed to be until 7pm. I have gone to the store about 6 – 7 times in the past year during their supposed business hours and if I went anytime other than lunch, they were closed. I’ve called during business hours without an answer. The owners apparently had a successful catering business and decided to open a storefront. Clearly they do not have the resources to consistently man the storefront and are more focused on the catering business.
Fortunately, Backstage has a great product. Unfortunately, they are missing out on who knows how many customers as I personally know 4 people who have given up on trying to go to the store because of this inconsistency. Get it together Backstage! I want to give you money and eat delicious sandwiches but you make it so difficult.
