After a few hours on the lake for breweries, we decided to find a new spot to eat. Unilocal helped us pick out this little place and I would say we were pleased. It was around Halloween time so everything was in theme, they were also having a costume party that night, too bad we had to go home that night. The parking lot is a bit small, but the town is adorable and the restaurant venue is very nice. It has a rustic feel but very clean and cozy, I think there is outdoor seating but at the time it was a little chilly to be sitting outside. We started off with the calamari, it is very different from what I am used to but it was still very good. Not a bad different, just different! We came during lunchtime but they still let me order the scallops for my lunch dish. Very good. It wasn’t enough food for me but it was delicious. My +1 ordered a sandwich and it was good but very large and messy so I’m not sure that he enjoyed it as much as he would have liked. Overall, good place to eat and drink. If we were ever in the area again, I think we would go here for lunch. Definitely try it!

Decent food, but not really on par with the price. More breading than calamari in our appetizer. My mac and cheese tasted like out of the box. The bf stated his burger was similar to Chili’s food. Nice waitstaff, though not particularly attentive especially considering the small space.

Super menu. Fresh local suppliers. Happy, knowledgeable server. Every appetizer and entre just a little unique and delightfully delicious. Sparkling clean! Easy parking.

I want to start my review by saying we did not eat here, but I’ve heard great things from friends. We stopped in to try for our first time tonight on our 4th anniversary. We found items on the menu outside we would enioy but they were absent from the indoor menu. We also asked about the«handcrafted specialty cocktails» that were mentioned on the menu but the indifferent waitress informed us there were no specialty cocktails. Confusing and inonsistent overall and we were turned off by the initial service. Most of all the wine list prices were OFFENSIVE. Living locally and working in the industry, the mark up is unbelievable. I recommend another of the fantastic restaurants in Hammondsport with very reasonable prices for both wine and food.

Very dissapointing. Just finished a meal there, and I couldn’t be more disappointed. Food quality is good, but execution and service is very bad. The prices are very high, but portions are tiny. Comparing to the quality and value for money in high end restaurants in Manhattan, this place is 2 out of 5, no doubt. We got our food 40 minutes after we ordered. 2 out of 4 dishes were cold. The waitress wasn’t really nice and although said she would give us dessert or something, sounded like she’s doing us a favor. So we passed on any favor. She should have discussed with the manager and give more attention, again, as I would expect from a place serving $ 28 tiny salmon dish. I enjoy food so much, but here I had a really bad taste in my mouth from the entire experience. What a shame.

First time at Timber Stone Grill. Definitely not our last. Had the salmon and husband had the tenderloin. Both were fantastic! We chose to sit outside. It was a beautiful evening and they had great music as well. Entire staff very pleasant. Highly recommend!

Our family had dinner at Timber Stone tonight and while the atmosphere was very nice, the food and service did not live up a high caliber restaurant in my opinion. Our main dishes were quite good but the sides were bland. The meal was considerably over priced for the quality even for a higher– end restaurant. The service was fine enough but very inexperienced wait staff. Again for the prices and tone of the restaurant I would expect better service and food. There was also an issue with the bill and their insistence on coming out ahead by $ 5 left a bad taste after a mediocre meal at a high price. We love Hammondsport and have had better experiences at other restaurants in the area.

We made a reservation since we had 7 adults and 3 kids. One big minus they only had one high chair in the place so if you have small kids you might want to consider elsewhere. The place The inside was really nice and very clean. You could tell they put some money into the place. I will say the benched were very hard and not really comfortable to sit in but they weren’t horrible either. I did find myself moving around alot. They have really nice outside patio which was packed I wish we could have sat outside! The service The people were very nice and our waitress was very attentive. She came around every so often to make sure were ok and didnt need anything. The food I had the penne with spicy chicken and it was really good. You could tell they used fresh ingredients. My mom got the ribeye and asked for medium rare and it came out still moooing! They comped her 50 percent on her meal which was decent. They also listed some of the local farms they source some of the meats and produce they use which is awesome. The verdict I really liked this place and food was good but the prices are a bit high for what you get. So I think I need to go a few more times to find out if the value is there for the price.

Had two dinners here — one with staff, and one for a family birthday dinner. Both times were equally excellent, with such attentiveness and friendliness from the staff, great explanations of menu items, easy accommodations for the GF members of the family, and a nicely composed little dinner for my 7 year old. There is no «kids menu» per se, but they pulled together a little plate based on the menu items she likes(and thankfully my daughter likes things like salmon, rice, green veg, so this was easy to put together). They even made a little slice of cake into a birthday dessert complete with candle for her! I know, I know, who brings a 7 year old to an upscale restaurant? We did, and she’s a champ with behavior, and the restaurant has more of a family feel, just with really really really good food and service. I think we’ll make the drive from Rochester for our next meal and not wait til we’re near Keuka lake again.

I shared my ahi tuna dinner with a friend who had the cranberry tenderloin. The tuna was great, but the tenderloin was amazing. Tart/sweet and literally tender enough to cut with a butter knife. Just melted in my mouth. The creamy risotto was very creamy, the creamed spinach just creamy enough(the greens not overwhelmed by cheese), and the grilled veggies were wonderful, too.

Wow! What a gem in the area! We’re visiting and camping at the local state park and wanted a filling dinner. We devoured our food! We started with a beer flight from local breweries. Next we had with the calamari and it was delicious. The capers were spicy as well as the peppers but not overwhelming. There was a few thin slices of cheese as well and the calamari with very crispy. Now onto the main dishes– my husband had the cranberry tenderloin with Brussels Sprouts and whipped garlic mashed. The potatoes needed a little S&P but the tenderloin was amazing! It was cooked to a perfect medium with pink throughout and very juicy. I had the bruschetta chicken half size portion and it was just the right size. My sides were zucchini and squash as well as the red skinned potatoes. All the sides on my plate were served in mini cast iron pans which I loved. We finished our evening with a sweet treat– blueberry cheesecake with whipped cream and peanut butter pie with vanilla ice cream. In the future we will share dessert because the portions are very large. The cheesecake was our favorite and the peanut butter pie was very dense and rich(we still finished it). Our waitress told us it was made by the local bakery only a few doors down. Overall we had a great meal and will come back in the future. The service was quick and friendly as well offering to move us inside multiple times when it started to sprinkle. We didn’t melt and finished our dinner outside on the patio. Come and enjoy!

Had a great dinner this evening at Timber Stone Grill! Steamed clams, Salmon, balsamic chicken flatbread are all good, my 11yr old loved the chicken quesadilla too. All local beer & wine selections aplenty. Awesome wood & décor inside, would be a nice place to go for drinks if you had visitors in and wanted to impress them :)

Found this restaurant quickly on Unilocal after searching for a dinner spot in Hammondsport. Party of 8, and all of us were impressed with the friendly service, atmosphere, and quality of food, from appetizers, soup, entrees and dessert. A shot in the dark turned into a very good evening of food at the Timberstone Grill. Overall: Clean restaurant, friendly efficient staff, quality minded and personable chef, good ambience, and reasonable prices.

We visited Hammondsport from Baltimore and heard this was the new hot spot in town. There are quite a few things that could be improved upon. The environment is very strange: there’s a tv for sports, a small bar area, and several tables offering a fine dining menu all in 1 room with no separation. While the servers were friendly, they were short on information. We received no explanation of the 3 kinds of butter that were served with the bread nor what kind of cheese the fromage plate consisted of. The entrees were expensive, the portion sizes small and the taste(lackthereof) was highly disappointing. My salmon was bland and the $ 14 half portion I ordered turned out to be maybe 3 oz. of fish. The zucchini/asparagus side consisted of ½ a zucchini and ¼ of a spear of asparagus(I’m guessing since it was all chopped) and the ‘bacon’ brussel sprouts were undercooked(and I found NO bacon). The local wine we had was one-note and the watermelon wheat beer on tap was unimpressive. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience.

We stumbled upon this place for lunch while wandering the shops and were extremely impressed. The restaurant itself is very clean and tastefully decorated. We sat out on the patio and had excellent service. I enjoyed the salmon BLT sandwich which was cooked and seasoned perfectly! The rest of my party shared two of the flatbreads and they were delicious as well. The prices were exceptionally reasonable. We will definitely be back to try out dinner sometime soon!

Casual atmosphere with a good variety of meats, seafood along with Tappas menu. For our first meal we had one the bone ribeye and beef tenderloin. Portion sizes we perfect and the food was just devine. Their claim to fame is food served that is locally sourced and grown with regional cuisine. We will definitely be back!
