Great fresh tasting food. Had the steak tacos very yummy with the mild sauce on it. The pork tacos were good but a little salty for my taste. The staff is super friendly. The seating is very casual.

My husband and I came here for dinner tonight with high expectations. I was craving Mexican food and this area has limited options. I ordered the vegetarian platter and my husband ordered the vegetarian burrito. Food was fresh, but extremely bland. The beans had almost no flavor and despite adding the different salsas the food was still flavorless. The side of rice was decent. We probably wont be back. Would recommend trying other options in the area.

I loooove Mexican Mariachi! The veggie burritos are amazing! The fresh guacamole is the BEST. The staff is always friendly, the restaurant is clean, the prices are very reasonable. I recommend this place to friends and family all the time :)

I was so glad to see MMG still here, after I’ve been away from the area for two years. As a road warrior in sales, I eat out often, and this place is one of the most legit when it comes to authentic Mexican food. I used to come here a few years ago as a regular spot when I had the hankering for a good taco or burrito. Two years later, I’m glad to say nothing’s changed. The quality of the food is fantastic, and the service is friendly and with a smile! I love supporting small Mom and Pop businesses like this as it helps the community thrive! You’ll never eat at a Chipotle, Qdoba or Taco Bell again for fast Mex once you’ve tried MMG! Prices are reasonable and are in step with the quality of their offerings. Check it out!

Terrible Service. The food was bland and tasteless. Fluorescent lighting partially on. No music. Tables filthy. Guacamole just mashed avocado. Worst of all it was Saturday and we were so excited for a good Mexican restaurant based on these good reviews. Maybe better for takeout and during the week but will not give it 2nd chance. Very poor.

Surf and Turf burrito is really good. Very solid salsa bar as well. Would like to see a short rib taco on the menu… a personal favorite.

One of my favorite spots! The homemade salsa is the Today I ordered veggie tacos with black beans and extra avacado! Resoonably priced… fresh food. The only down side is for 11.00 the portions should be larger.

Fantastic food and as real as it gets. The flan is amazing and the tacos fantastic — I had the slow braised pork with grilled pineapple! Awesome food so if you feel like having the taste of Mexico come to this place!

Saw the good reviews and had to try it out. Drove a little out of the way in a snow storm for quality tacos. I was a little disappointed, no one was there at 7 at night, not a good sign. Thought about ordering the steak tacos but the lady talked me out of them, next choice was fish tacos and she said they were her favorites. Done deal. While I waited they have unlimited chips to graze on and they are good. Thick cut tortilla chips that are easy to crunch away. Picked up my food and took it back to the hotel. Excitement to taste the tacos quickly turned to disappointment after first bite. The fried fish was soggy and fishy. The refried beans were so dry they were a solid mass. Had to mix in salsa just to break them down. The reviews let me down this time. Should have trusted my gut and gone with the steak tacos. Won’t be a next time.

So after reading all the reviews, I had to check this place out. I have been looking for authentic Mexican food. Before I went I looked over the menu and saw that they had carne asada which is rare to find out here in New Jersey. So I drove out here during my lunch to try their food. This place is located in Clover Square and parking was hard to find because it was during lunch hour and there was snow. But that did not deter me and I found a parking space and hoofed it down to the grill. I walked in and it was not that busy and then I placed my order. I ordered the two carne asada taco platter which included rice and beans and a pepsi. My order came out pretty quick and along with it were my two salsas. I did notice a sign saying two salsa free with order and they charge for extras. I thought that was strange because they do not charge extras at the places in California. So I tried the beans and there is nothing to rave about. I tried the rice and it was plain. I started eating the tacos and poured my salsa on them. When I tasted it, it really didn’t remind of California Mexican Tacos. The carne asada tasted like regular steak. I was able to finish my tacos but I had an empty feeling in my stomach which means I wasn’t satisfied. I do not know if I would come back but if I do I would try the burritos and nachos. Hopefully that will get me filled.

We’ve enjoyed the food here several times before but there were some differences this time that are sparking my mediocre score. First, the free pita chips while plentiful were thick, hard flour tortillas this time and not the lighter chips I enjoyed in the past. I ordered the beef tacos which ended up arriving at my table with green spicy sauce on them along with the expected fried onions. The chili sauce was not listed on the menu and since I don’t eat any chili ended up go back for a remake. When they taco’s came back they were devoid of anything except the beef. I wasn’t going to wait for another round so I just ate them as is. There are other fast, convenient, delicious Mexican places in town that assemble my tacos in front of me with exactly what I want on them. I’ll just go there next time.

I should preface my review by stating that I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to Mexican food, I’ve been spoiled by the West coast. I’ve been here a few times now and I each time I go I really want to love it more than I do. Upon entering you’re greeted with that typical hole-in-the-wall vibe, despite being in a more modern strip mall. Service is pretty good with friendly staff and a consistently reasonable wait. So far I’ve stuck with the tacos, and have tried the veggie, fish, and chicken. The fish tacos are my least favorite and consist of lightly battered tilapia pieces in a flour tortilla with some pico de gallo, an avocado, and some sauce. Mine had a some of that«fishy» taste when fish isn’t super fresh, which is still passible, but the dressing almost tartar-like sauce on them was the fatal flaw. The chicken tacos are ok, the main flavor is the char from the grill, and not so much the cilantro, onion, or any other flavors aside from the tortilla. Surprisingly, I enjoy the veggie tacos the most, probably because their beans and rice are on point. Ideally, I wish they would turn up the flavors with the cilantro, lime, etc, and throw bolder sauces on the chicken and veggie tacos. The good: free unlimited homemade chips, fairly fresh food that has that home cooked flair. The bad: subdued flavors, general lack of spice, but plenty of salt. All in all a solid 3.5 stars.

While my Chicken Tacos were decent, they were small in comparison to what is offered in the Mexican joints springing up in Trenton and Hamilton that are independent of strip mall parameters of high rents and small spaces. Too, the menu is more limited than in those houses that attract a mainly Hispanic customer base. I was looking for tortas and sopes, but found mostly tacos, quesadillas and burritos. I suspect the kitchen is capable of broader options, but doesn’t have a market for them at this location. Still, it would be great if they put together a special menu on certain days so the range of wonderful Mexican cuisine could be enjoyed by those not ready to go into the city for the real deal.

Great value. Big portions. Friendly service. This is definitely a super casual«hole in the wall» Mexican place. It didn’t look that great at first, but the food made up for it. I’d choose this over any fast food Mexican, simply because I felt like I was getting real cooked Mexican food. The décor isn’t that great, but it does remind me of mom and pop places down in Mexico. We came here on a Sunday starving. So we ordered A LOT of food. But the best part of this was free chips to snack on while we waited! We got all 3 salsas to try, which were all great(the volcano is SPICY). The food came out fairly quick. We ordered everything vegetarian, so I feel it wasn’t packed with seasoning like a meat dish would be… So we put a lot their delicious salsa on everything. We ordered tacos, nachos, burrito, and chimichangas. The food was pretty good over all, especially for the price.

Very close to 4 Unilocal, but as I am cooking more Mexican food myself, I don’t come here as often as I used to. Strip mall location, but better than average Mex cuisine. Everything is prepared when you order it, so call ahead if possible. If you don’t you can at least snack on free chips and salsa while you wait. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ordered here, but I would probably not get the fish tacos again(I’m just not a fan of tilapia) If possible try to save room for dessert, it’s homemade by the owners mother I think. I’ve had the tres leches, and also a chocolate one, delish. In my opinion this is a much better choice than the Mex chains on Route 1. Great value, great portions, and they cook with love.

My go to place to satisfy my Mexican cravings. Both locations serve exceptional, authentic Mexican food for a great price. Their salsas are house made, and it might be the best salsa I’ve ever had. With every meal you purchase, you get free salsa and chips. Today I ordered the Mariachi Plate, which comes with a beef burrito, hard shell taco, quesadilla, chicken flauta, and rice and beans. Also ordered Guac on the side and it was to die for! I come here to eat more than anywhere else-super casual, can call in orders, and the staff members are extremely friendly.
