Nice enough property for sure — well kept grounds and buildings. Nice amenities and a pretty location. I did however find the staff to be very unprofessional and rude in several cases. They are the least people/customer friendly property that I’ve ever encountered. Make sure you fully walk your apartment before signing that lease because you have ZERO chance of getting anything resolved after you move in.

Horrible services there. If I could, I’d love to rate this place as a –1… when I helped my friend to return his place, the saleswoman gave me thousands of excuses to charge my friend some extra dollars. BTW, this place is definitely OVER charged!!! If you have any other choices, please stay away from this place… that’s my honestly suggestions to you…

My friend and I were looking for a new apartment and looked all over New Haven and Hamden. We saw Town Walk online and loved it, so we made an appointment to view the apartments. When we got there, we had to sit and listen to the saleswoman go through an entire script about the place. We knew what we wanted, but it took more than 30 minutes to be able to at least see the apartments. The apartments were nice, but the service was TERRIBLE. Our saleswoman, Marie, did not understand any of our questions. She was convinced my friend and I were idiots, and kept trying to explain the different between first month’s rent and security deposit(there is a deal that gives one free month’s rent). Marie spent probably 20 minutes trying to explain the difference, when we were just trying to get her to answer another question. We didn’t get to see the actual apartments we wanted to rent, only showrooms. How were we supposed to know what the actual unit looked like? When we asked to see the actual apartments and pushed more, Marie said she had to get back and wouldn’t show us anything else because she needed to eat lunch. She pushed us to make a decision that day in order to «lock» one apartment, but we chose not to because we were hesitant about the«machine» like atmosphere and the potential fakeness of the staff. The next day, I received a voicemail from Marie that was very pleasant and asked how my friend and I were feeling and if we were interested in renting Instead of actually hanging up the receiver, Marie thought she had hung up, and I could overhear her. I heard her in the background telling a co-worker«It was hell. Absolute hell… they didn’t understand the difference between a security deposit and first month’s rent… kept asking so many questions… didn’t understand… hell.» Do not trust the sales staff at Town Walk!!!

My wife and I lived here for the first year of our marriage. While the apartment itself is quite nice and the location is nearly unbeatable, the office staff and policies are unbearable. The pools are in good shape and up kept and the exercise facilities are nice but not worth the cost of living here. I didn’t get to use the basketball court, but it had just been redone with rubberized flooring to help us old men with our bad knees. If you own a pet be prepared to shell out some dough. After a $ 50 a month fee and $ 100 non-refundable deposit, they force you to replace the carpet so don’t bother having Stanley Steemer come in and clean and deodorize it.(It is stated in your move-out paperwork that you must clean the carpets.) Although we had a well trained dog, we had it cleaned and deodorized. We found that even though our carpet was spotless and had no odor, it was a waste of $ 200. There was no discussion or debate… they forced us to replace the carpet. The carpet replacement charge was $ 695 for a one bedroom Whitney. At the move out, the not-so professional groundskeeper pulled up the carpet and said there were pet stains on the underside and it all had to replaced. Whether they were pet stains or food stains, I don’t know. They refused to show documentation that the carpet was new prior to our residence. Therefore, the stains most likely were from previous tenants. Either way, he said they must be replaced. This policy should have been in our lease, after we pay so much for pets. I asked what my pet fee was for and was told by the lovely young gentleman in the office that it was for allowing me the«luxury» of owning a pet. Oh, and they provide 2 waste cans and bags to put your dog’s waste in, which is collected by the staff– not often enough. I had a couple other bad experiences with the office staff and policies, but I won’t get into them at all, I was not satisfied with the service, etc. Aspen Glenn is a fine alternative from what I’ve heard from friends who have moved in there. Less hidden fees and better management.
