After 35 min wait for two orders of tacos, they game me someone else’s mostly eaten food to take home. When I came back I told them I want my money back. They tried to give me the money back for just this order even though the I told them the rest is in the garbage because I don’t like others leftovers. Took 30 more minutes to get my money back and a hand in the face from the manager while I was more than understanding. Look at the picture… Got home and my white informed me they forgot the rice and beans for her tacos. The worst part of this was the«manager» Who put her hand in my face when I asked her after 30 minutes of waiting for my refund how much longer this was going to take because my wife was at home alone on a Saturday night. I have never seen someone that age act like a complete child and it was disgusting, she was acting like I was literally taking food from her child’s mouth. It is beyond me how they got four stars on Unilocal I think twice about seeing reviews on Unilocal now

This place is great. They have the best guacamole I’ve ever had with lime in it. Everything is great and the staff is very friendly. Nice, clean place. You can sit at the counter and watch them cook!

Wasn’t as authentic as I hoped. I’m from LA, CA and the carne Asada didn’t taste like the carne Asada I’m used too, still fresh and tasty. Serving size is kinda a disappointment. Was hoping for some very authentic but this is defiantly Americanized . My tacos didn’t even come with diced onion ??? Only cilantro

Real, authentic Mexican food, thank you Stephanie! The food here is excellent! I have had food in Mexico and in California so trust me when I say that this food is truly authentic and wonderful! To drink we ordered the horchata and Jamaica, both were delicious, and it was difficult not to drink these too quickly To eat, we ordered the chicken flautas, mahi fish tacos, chicken quesadillas and chicken consommé soup all were fantastic! Our server, Stephanie, was very friendly and explained the menu as well as gave us prompt attention. We had to start with the authentic Guacamole and several different and unique spicy salsas! These were the best I ever had, all very tasty and fresh! What more I can say, this place is ABSOLUTELYAMAZING!

We’ve been here a few times and love it. The food is very good and can get addicting. The horchata is really good, it’s the most authentic tasting food I’m Miami. There’s just have been one or two occasions where we had a waitress that didn’t necessarily want to be at work.

So on my last visit I saw some concerning things … These practices will get people sick… Leaving things out dirty dishes and grill scraper device resting on the floor… This might be the most horrifying and grossest thing scrape the grill with a spatula of sorts that was resting on the ground under the grill putting chicken in grill and then putting spatula device under grill ONTHEDIRTYFLOOR ughnot sure if I’ll come back pretty gross… It’s too bad because the people who run this place are so damn nice … Please watch your cooks they are sloppy

Skip it. the tacos were tasteless, the rice & beans, well. I think the rice tasted like week old Minute Rice. the beans were White on top, totally flavorless. disappointed, go next door to Burgerfi! Update: next day, my husband got Montezuma’s Revenge so it must be authentic!!!

I love to live so close from this taqueria, I hope one day they have delivery service. I’m mexican and I get so mad when the ignorant people gives a few star just because there’s not tex-mex food, so one important thing you need to know is that ain’t real Mexican. The baja shrimp tacos and the volcanes are my favorites.

Simply the best Mexican food, I have ever had. The only problem is that, take out requires prepaid by Credit Card. I own a business and, we order a lot. The restaurant should have a relationship with businesses that order frequently, it’s gets stressful to give information when we are so many that order. Regaurdless we LOVE this place

Excellent choice. I can tell that the people that work here/own here love why they do. Everyone had an apparent love for they roles they play to make this place on the of the best. Again, greeted with genuine smiles from within. The restaurant, super clean! They all worked in an obvious rhythm to music they all heard simultaneously as the restaurant was silent besides the sizzling of fresh meat from the grill or the clanging from knife to fork and blade to cutting board. Everything made was prepared from scratch. As I ate, I sat there and watched each person at their station focused and aware. At times they picked up their business with the influx of customers, but no beats were missed in this experience. Well, what can you say. Your in Florida where the fun and water are mixed as inw

This place is just going down the hill. Avocados are bathed in lime water, I have never seen that before. Perhaps this is a new Mexican style i was never educated before. First time my kids didn’t want to eat guacamole cause they said it tasted weird. So and it does taste watery. Seriously? Perhaps I have to return to culinary school for further education. And then, oh then, finicky me and those damn gloves. Why oh why do you wear them from beginning of your shift till the end without single change? Yes, I saw you use the dirty towel to clean your gloves, then plates, then counter. Then I saw you put away dirty plates. Oh yes, I did. You know what else? I saw same beautiful gloves pick up used salsa dish, and toss it back with new salsa for the rest of us to try. Yum! I love you for allowing me to introduce other people spit into my menu. Yes yes yes, I am in Mexico. Woohoo a truly authentic experience. Management, perhaps you should show up once in a while and actually train your staff and care for your concept. Cause to me it seems the management has totally and completely abandoned the ship. I have tried this place when it just opened and it was great. I think guac was made to order, and so were the corn shells. I don’t see any of that done now. Power to you workers, it ain’t your fault. You should do a revolution and walk out.

Place is nice and clean, i liked the style. Nachos were not fresh and salsa was ok, spicy sauce was not spicy at all. Service was good not exceptional but good. We ordered Pastor Burrito, very good — generous portion. Gringa tacos — very good — regular portion Mexican Chicken fajitas — not good — they forgot the cheese– and after we asked couple times they gave us some. fajitas super fresh and awesome flavor — portion was ok. This place has the potential.

Nothing special here. They serve their nachos with stadium nacho cheese sauce… not authentic! The steak had good flavor and nachos were also topped with guac and refried beans. $ 9 for the substandard nachos. The chips and salsas they bring out are complimentary. The pico de gallo didn’t have much flavor to it. Tacos are about $ 4 – 5 each. There is a large bar area overlooking kitchen. Also indoor tables and a few outdoor tables. As previous posts have mentioned, the menu is not kid friendly. There was a family that had to go next door to the burger place to feed their kids. They do not have ground beef tacos. Service was good. You order from a waitress. There is plenty of parking in the attached lot. I will not be returning when there are so many better Mexican options in the area.

Split a few dishes including the steak and cheese tacos, baha fish tacos, and the taquito. Thought the food was just average– definitely was expecting more after reading the reviews. We had two side dishes — corn off the cob and cowboy beans. Both were underwhelming. Don’t think I’ll be back … And wouldn’t recommend it. I think there are better restaurants out there for tacos. Thumb down.

This is a super-unique Mexican experience. They don’t really have any of your normal Mexican dishes on the menu. Honestly, I think they just named things differently, but you can probably related them all things you’ve had before. There was this veggie and cheese mix wrapped up cheese and served on tortillas — that was probably the best thing we had. The other food items were OK. Good to be able to try something unique.

I had been wanting to come here for a while because when they first opened they were interviewed on TV during a short segment on channel 7 news. The customers that were interviewed said it was«authentic» so I liked the idea. I finally went this past weekend and ordered tacos al pastor(see my pictures). They tasted good however, I felt like they’re over priced for what it is. Mexican food is never pricey, why should Wapo Taco? So you get two regular corn tortilla tacos for $ 8-$ 10. What happened to $ 1-$ 2 tacos, same ingredients. Bottom line, not going back because it’s over priced but the food it good but also not amazing for $ 40 for 2 people. This included 2 meals, 2 drinks, and a shareable item(appetizer).

My sister insisted on us try this place. We saw the pics on Unilocal, and they looked pretty good. **this place is non-accommodating friendly** I was a little disappointed, because I love beans and they didn’t have and weren’t able to accommodate me and my dietary needs, with your regular plain rice and beans. The beans contains chorizo, chicharro, and bacon. If you’re a meat lover, then there’s no problem. But I do not eat meat, and was disappointed at the fact they couldn’t just not add the meat. If other high-end, larger restaurants can accommodate something so simple and this small place couldn’t, that says a lot to me. For the food(since everything contains meat and the veggie plate did not seem appetizing) I ordered from the«Sharing» side of the menu, and ordered Trio Quesadillas, empanada style. In the menu, it said it had tomatoes, cheese, lime juice, sour cream and unions. But really, it didn’t. The guacamole is what had all that. So inside of the«Quesadilla», which is really fried empanada, only had queso fresco. I’m not really a guac person(and since it had all the flavor) I felt that the«quesadilla»(really fried empanada) wasn’t really flavorful, like your usual quesadillas. It was whatever. As for the restaurant, it was cute. It very modern, pixel-like. The service was good. Although my sister and her fiancé, had to ask 2 servers for a side of sour cream and side of onions, which none were brought to them. They do bring out complimentary tortilla chips, with different small sides of toppings. I don’t think I’ll come back. Usually with Mexican food(or any central American restaurant), I’m safe. But this place, I was not and totally did not expect it.

My daughter insisted I come try Wapo Taco, she works nearby and frequently eats lunch here. We just took her dog Sam to Haulover Beach for some fun-in-the-sun and were ready to enjoy a nice lunch. The place had three tables outside, so we could take Sam with us… no brainer! I ordered the Baja Shrimp Tacos, recommended by my daughter(«when we introduce newbies to Wapo we always tell them to order the Baja Shrimp Tacos, so they get hooked to Wapo immediately» she said). She got the Tacos al Carbon. Desert was the«Impossible»(a flan on top of a brownie… we call it he «Flawnie»). Note: they serve nachos with a sample of four different sauces as a free mini appetizer, try all four, all are excellent. Everything was delicious, one of the best soft shell tacos I have ever had. I had to give it a 4 start instead of a 5 due to the pricing, it is a bit on the high side, specially if you go there for lunch. Recommended!

I heard a lot of good things about this place… I’m from Mexico City so I know about tacos. I was waiting to try the«Real Mexican Food» from this place and great is not the word I’ll use. This is my second time and it just got worse. Prices are to high for quality and quantity.(I posted pics). 3 dlls for a meat taco? Seriously? Flavor is not great. The novelty«tacos al pastor de trompo» is the only different thing in US. Oh. Using Florida avocado instead of Haas is just cheap. I was still at the table and they were cleaning while the place was empty. No coming back…

We stopped in on opening night, something we normally never do with new restaurants because, let’s be honest it tends to be a disaster. However, Wapo Taco was the opposite. Sure, it was busy but our service and food were all spot on. Most of the seating is wrapped around the kitchen, which makes for a good show as you see the staff roll out fresh tortillas and cook up tasty bites. To start we ordered the chicharron de queso, which is essentially a rolled up thin layer of fried cheese served with a side of guacamole — so good. For our mains my fiancé ordered the tacos de arracherra and I had the baja shrimp tacos. Not only did they both taste fresh and delicious, they came out super fast — something that rarely happens on opening night. Although my dish didn’t need it, they provide you with a plate full of freshly made sauces/salsa and other ingredients to top off your tacos with. We’re always looking for new mexican restaurants to get our fix, and since it’s up the street from us we’ll definitely be back in the near future.
