The First Act

I tried to visit this shop during the HMB Pumpkin Festival, only to find they were CHARGING AN ADMISSION FEE to enter their store.
I don’t think so!
Can you imagine not wanting customers on a day when the streets are filled with shoppers? Their business plan makes absolutely no sense. There are other antique and thrift stores in our little town that are much more welcoming than this one.

We found this place today while walking through town randomly. It’s pretty cool if you’re into old toys. It’s not your typical antique store — it’s more like an old toy hobbyist’s attic got full and exploded. There are a few pieces of furniture, glassware, records, and household goods/​tools, but most of the items here are old toys & games. Kinda fun & cute for a trip down memory lane (a crappy version of a toy car I used to have is going for $ 20 now!) but that’s really it for variety. The guy running the store is super nice and really loves to talk about about his wares — he even showed us a bunch of photos of train sets and stuff that he worked on. Cool stuff I suppose, but not my particular cup of tea when it comes to antiques. I kinda feel bad giving only 3 stars though… consider it 3.5 instead?
