Killer tuna salad with sun dried tomato, basil and cucumber, add avocado and fresh lettuce and you’ve got an amazing sami.

So whenever we are in Hawaii we must make a trip to eat at Sandy’s. Ryan pours his heart and soul into every sandwich. He makes little changes to some of his sandwiches which knocks my socks off. He always uses the freshest ingredients in all of his sandwiches and salads. He personally makes your sandwich so be patient it’s worth the wait. See you soon Ryan we can’t wait!

It took a bit of work to find Sandy’s, but it was worth the effort! Part of the problem, is the hours on Unilocal are wrong. I think he said they are open from 10 to 5, and we were looking for them about 7.30 pm. No wonder we couldn’t find them. Also, the directions were misleading. GPS was having us turn off the hwy. It’s about ¼ mile north of Shark’s Cove on the ocean side of the main hwy. And when it was there, it was easy to see. When we couldn’t find him, we texted and he answered right away telling us the correct hours. Ryan was GREAT. We caught him on our way to the airport. Very friendly, made great suggestions for us based on what we told him we liked. And we were so happy with our choices. We ate the turkey and brie and the curry chicken salad sandwich. Both were so fresh and tasty. Huge portions of meat, the veggies were fresh, the avocados were so flavorful. We got there just as he was opening and he made the chicken salad after we ordered. It was sweet and yummy! Not too much curry, but lots of flavor! The bread(we went with the honey wheat) was soft and delicious. I only wish we could have visited him again and tried more of his creations. Next time we are at the North Shore, we will certainly be looking for the bright blue food cart on the side of the highway!

The food was good but overpriced. I’ve never paid $ 17 for a sandwich and some chips, and I’ve lived in Manhattan. Also, the turkey slices were too thick and a bit flavorless. The sandwich did have flavor. The best thing I got out of this was the beach tip from the owner :)

Fresh food, large portions, made to order. Delicous! Owner was very friendly. Had the chicken curry sandwich and the turkey brie. Both were excellent and reasonably priced for the area. Highly recommended!

Had the pleasure of eating at Sandy’s Sandwiches and meeting Ryan today! What a genuine, passionate and happy guy. his energy rubbed off on us instantly. My family and I had some specific requests because we are vegetarian and Ryan went above and beyond anything we’ve ever experienced to accommodate. He also took his time to make our food perfect. Much appreciated, man! Speaking of food. So tasty! We thoroughly enjoyed our Mixed Veggie Sandwich — it wasn’t too heavy and tasted so fresh. This is an awesome place, you have to check it out and meet Ryan if you’re on the North Shore!

First of all, Kaia the dog is the sweetest thing. Second, Sandy’s sandwiches are amazing. Perfect combination of sweet and savory, salty and tangy. Excellent pesto sauce on the Veggie sandwich. We also had the chicken sandwich with feta and that was awesome. Couldn’t have been happier. We love the commitment to compostable supplies that Sandy’s and many other places are committed to. TnT

Looking for a bite to eat in the North Shore? Well there are plenty but this one caught my eyes. It’s called Sandy’s Sandwiches. Located off Kamehameha Hwy on the side of the road. A small truck enough to hold 2 people max inside. Met Ryan, the attendant and owner, when I went to order, is very nice and genuine. He greeted us with a warm aloha and when asked about how the name originated, Ryan told us he named it after his mom who love sports. He then proceeded to tell us about the menu. All sandwiches have a choice of bread. From a marble Rye, ciabatta, whole wheat and regular rye. Then it is packed with locally grown vegetables fro cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes, lettuce and parsley. The sandwiches are enough for two people because they are so ginormous, but soo delicious. I ordered a turkey brie on marble rye and needless to say I killed it! I had a bag of Sea Salt chips to accompany my sandwich. Great lunch, great experience. Give that business a 5!!! Now check it out yourself.

My fellow Yeeps, meet Ryan. He’s the owner of this lil food truck/trailer located on the north end of Shark’s Cove parking lot and it’s named after his mother(Sandy is her nickname). The sandwich he prepared for me was probably one of the best I’ve had on the island: made with love. Service was just the way I like it: welcoming, friendly, and with a nice aloha spirit. The menu is simple. 10 Sandwich choices and 6 Salad choices. I decided to order the Chicken Pesto sandwich on Ciabatta bread with Avocado and a bag of Sea Salt chips for $ 16. It included lettuce, green bell pepper, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, pesto, mayonnaise, shredded chicken breast, and a squeeze of lemon. An orange slice on the side. Just look at the photo. My sammich was GINORMOUS and that’s only ½ of it! The ingredients were so fresh. A healthy mix with a nice crunch and very filling. So filling, I had to wrap the other half to take home. I had a sad face for a minute because the moment I took the first bite, I wished my jaw was larger, because the veggies were falling out here and there. Ahh! So, that’s why there were two wooden picks in my sammy. I decided to keep ‘em in for stability and made sure I ate around them safely. Be sure to keep one around to use as a utensil to eat the fallen chicken and veggies on the plate! I asked Ryan if he had a ton of business when the Eddie Aikau surf competition was here a few days ago. His answer? No. His mom flew in the same day of the event and it was more important for him to spend time with family and closed shop for a few days. Awww?! I also mentioned that I’ve been following him on Instagram for some time now. He was thrilled and said he looks forward to reading my honest opinion if I decide to post anything. He found out we drove in from town and gave me an orange to show his appreciation! What a cool dude. I’ll be back for sure!

I would have given this place 5 stars if I was only rating the food, but there were too many mistakes…(1) I had to wait 30 minutes to get 2 sandwiches(there were only 2 customers ahead of me);(2) the guy that was working was really friendly but he had a friend there and was talking and talking and talking; and(3) my boyfriend asked if the chicken pesto sandwich had any dairy(since he is allergic) and the guy said no and when my boyfriend got home and took a bite. he realized there was cheese in it. A LOT of cheese. However, I got the turkey brie sandwich and it was delicious.

Ryan went above and beyond when it came to our lunches. What a nice guy! And so passionate about his food. Our sandwiches were one of our favorite meals on the island and we will be back again and again as long as it’s around! The ingredients were fresh, without a doubt, and the flavors were incredible. I’m also super picky about my meat and I loved the turkey. I have to add that usually when I get a big sandwich it falls apart. But this one never falls apart!!! If I could give them a higher rating I would.

My husband and I chose Ryan from Sandy Sandwiches to cater our wedding for 70 people on Oahu. We were consistently blown away by Ryan’s attitude, energy, enthusiasm and passion to making the day a success. Due to special dietary requirements, Ryan creatively provided us with a menu proposal for tapas and main meals that were vegetarian/vegan using locally sourced ingredients within our budget. It was incredible! Our guests were amazed with how delicious a vegetarian menu could be and received comments all night on the food. Our guests loved the food so much, they continuously visited Sandy Sandwiches food truck while they were staying on the island. Ryan and his team were friendly, attentive, professional and highly reliable throughout the entire process. Ryan exceeded all expectations and went above and beyond in working seamlessly with the venue and pleasing our guests. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Ryan. Aside from being a talented chef, he is a top notch guy and we wholeheartedly recommend he and his team for any events without any reservation.

I will agree with the others … One of the best sandwiches I’ve had. Ever! The turkey and Brie was amazing, the mint leaves were a bit much for me personally so I took them out but overall — a great place. You can really tell everything is FRESH. One sandwich is completely shareable though, I wish that had been mentioned before because by the time you’re out of here with chips and a drink maybe, you’re upwards of $ 35-ish bucks for two.

I don’t write reviews, but I’m writing this one because of something Ryan, the owner, said after he handed me my order. He said,“This may be your lunch, but this is my life.” Ryan is extremely passionate about his food and you can tell by just tasting it. It’s delicious. We ordered the Ka’iwi Special and Rasta salad and watched as he made pesto from scratch and piled the million of ingredients together. He explained to us that a squeeze of lemon brings all the ingredients together and it really did. He also gave us a free orangeade drink because it was our first time! It was also fantastic. I’m only in Hawaii for another week but I hope to visit again before I leave. You have to try it! Food and service is awesome. Also, if you can’t find the stand, keep looking around the area! Drive down the main road a little, the address we were looking for was incorrect.

Their sandwiches are huge! I prefer more sub style but I wanted something different. I ordered their turkey Brie on rye bread. There was a lot going on and tons of fresh greens and even green pepper and cucumbers! The Brie and turkey slices was yummy and the sauce that they used went well with the sandwich. They are located beach side a little further down from Shark’s Cove. Keep in mind that their credit card reader has trouble sometimes connecting so it’s best to bring cash!

If you’re in the North Shore area and you’re looking for fresh sandwiches and salads, Sandy’s Sandwiches is a must! It’s a tiny turquoise and blue food cart on the side of Kamehameha Highway. Park on the grass next to it or across the street. You may wait awhile for your food so be prepared. We’ve waited at a minimum of 20 minutes each visit. The portions are huge! I’ve never been able to finish a sandwich or salad in one sitting. The sandwiches are stuffed! Not something that I can eat with my hands. I try, but I always have a fork to eat all the bits that fall out or couldn’t fit in my mouth. Each meal comes with a couple slices of fresh fruits too. When your order is ready, the staff is so excited to show you their creation. They open the containers and explain to you what they’ve made and make sure you’re happy with the food. I’ve tried the chicken pesto and prosciutto avocado sandwiches. Because the chicken pesto sandwich has so much chicken in it, the pesto taste is subtle. It is still good though, just not as pesto-y as I would like or expect. Love the all thick slices of mozzarella and avocado in the prosciutto sandwich! Today, I ordered the curry chicken salad sandwich. After waiting about 15 minutes, they told us that they ran out of chicken :(((But they were so sweet and made me a custom veggie sandwich instead! It was overloaded with avocado and artichokes :) Very yummy! They even gave me a free bag of chips for the inconvenience! My favorite salad is the Rasta Salad. It is full of greens, basil, bell peppers, artichokes, tomatoes, pesto, sun dried tomato purée, avocado, and chia seeds. Everything is so fresh and mixes so well together. The curry chicken salad is delicious too if you want some meat in your salads. Even though I can never finish a sandwich or a salad in one sitting, I always order one of each every time I come here. It’s that awesome! Then you have lots of leftovers for later :)

Met Ryan yesterday when I was diving the caves/tunnels at sharks cove. Bought some water from him and chatted a bit. Great guy and super nice! Told me a couple places in the water to check out and I did, unfortunately I wasn’t hungry enough for a sandwich. Went back to sharks cove today and decided I’d give it a try. I got the proshetta and avocado sandwich with this bad ass pesto sauce and the thing was huge and it wasn’t all bread like most sandwiches! All my other friends decided to go up to the food trucks and when i sat down in front of them with this monster all I could see was jealousy and regret. The flavor to this thing was unbelievable! I will definitely recommend this place to everyone and I will be back! Mahalo Ryan!

I was on a north shore food truck adventure one Friday afternoon w/Grant S, and the first place we stumbled upon as we were driving past Shark’s Cove was Sandy’s Sandwich! It’s a bright blue, yet unassuming little trailer that’s always parked next to Shark’s Cove, and I’m so glad we stopped! I’m not normally a fan of sandwiches, but I love this little food trailer! Parking: Super simple, just pull over on the side of the road! Done deal! :) Really the only difficult part is getting back on the road cause there’s always so many folks on the north shore lol Fresh Food: They have a cute little chalk board menu( ) listing everything they’re offering that day! I say«that day» because Ryan, the owner of Sandy’s Sandwich, makes an effort to keep things fresh all around. He tries his best to get locally grown organic ingredients, makes a lot of his own aiolis & dressings, serves a side of fresh fruits w/his sandwiches, and tests out new ideas all the time! The first time I stopped by there were only a few sandwiches on the board, so I tried the Chicken Pesto( ), and I couldn’t believe how HUGE it was! Homemade basil pesto, chicken breast slices, sundried tomatoes and a whole bunch of veggies! It was DE-licious! When I went back again, the menu had grown & included salads as well! BUT I had my heart set on a sandwich(which is rare for me), and ordered the Turkey & Brie! I like turkey & I love cheese, and they were testing out a slightly different flavor profile for it that day by adding fresh pear to pair w/the cheese! GREATADDITION! A little sweet to contrast the brie’s creamy tartness! Can I add that the guy makes his own orangeade? It’s really good, too! And if I’m not mistaken, no added sugars in it either! Pricing: Most of the sandwiches/salads are about $ 12, but there are a few that are cheaper and a few that are more expensive. If I hadn’t already tried it, I would think it’s too expensive, but it’s a FAT sandwich that’s organic, healthy, and tastes fantastic, so I’m not going to complain. Overall: I wish it weren’t so far away since I live in town, or I would definitely buy from them more often! I’ll just have to settle for the few trips I take up to the north shore: P
