Fantastic!!! Crab fries were the best we’ve ever had. Environment very nice. Burgers are tremendous! !!

Maloo’s is okay. The food was okay, the appetizer was good. The beer selection needs work. They had a shrimp/​scallops entrée on the menu that I tried to order only to find out it had been discontinued. The service was mediocre. The food took a little while to come out and the place wasn’t that busy. We would probably go again. The atmosphere was nice and the music was good.

Let me start with the positives. The restaurant was warm and inviting and the food quality was good. I had been to the previous kocation and new location is much nicer.
Went to dinner on Friday night order the flank steak salad and my wife ordered the crab cake sandwichwith a side of fresh cut fries. The sandwich was good sized made with jumbo lump. The salad was pretty small for $ 11 with two thin slices of steak. The service was slow, with a wait time from food order to arrival of about 25 minutes. Waitress forgot the tarter sauce and ketchup and it was another 5 to 10 minutes before they arrived.
Part way through dinner they had music start at 7 pm in the adjacent bar so it got a bit loud in the dining area. When we asked for the check, another extended wait because of issues with computer system. We gave the server our credit card, and after several minutes she returned to say the credit system was down, but would write down our credit card number if we dtill wanted to pay by credit. Luckily we had cash, so we paid and left.
I would probably give them another shot because the food was good. Other customer orders looked good. We might have hit an off night while they are working some bugs out of the system.

The food at Maloos has always been phenomenal. We used to enjoy the half priced apps during happy hour. The crab fries are the best in Hagerstown. I love their mussels, shrimp, reubens, chicken Chesapeake, and the wings are good. Cocktails are hit or miss here, but the real area for improvement is the waitstaff. We love when the owner takes our orders because everything comes exactly as we asked. We have had some absolutely terrible experiences with orders getting messed up and forgotten by other servers. I’m excited to see what the new location has done for this great local business.

Exceeded my expectations! I generally try not to even have expectations, but I wasn’t sure due to the recent turnover this location has had (and that I now live in a larger city with endless high quality food options, small town Hagerstown can be hard to measure up.)
Maloo’s was great! I wasn’t super hungry so I ordered a house salad with chicken. It was fresh, full of veggies, the chicken was quality and cooked to perfection. And wasn’t just iceberg lettuce, had darker greens mixed in– plus! Must also comment on the tomato– delish! (Those are hard to get right!) Mother got a delicious ham and crab cake melt on a delicious pretzel bun. And I sampled fathers BBQ wings, yum!
The atmosphere covered it all. The dim and decorated dining side made a nice place for conversation and a quiet dinner with the parents (diggin’ the tunes too); and the bar side looked roomy and a great spot to belly up, if that’s what you’re in for! The two sides were separated by the doorway and walls, to keep ambiances apart.
The waitstaff were cute, calm and friendly. The food was presented beautifully. The drinks were cheap! Satisfied customer that will someday return! Parents will definitely be back more frequently.
