ugh this place is stinko. its full of bored old people. don’t bother coming here. i was hoping this would be a good local coffee shop but my latte was terrible. the coffee itself tasted so bad, i couldn’t even find the simple syrup because it was in a ketchup bottle. my everything bagel was rock hard and tasted like nothing. don’t bother.

Good coffee, good atmosphere :) Been going here for a couple years now. They’re nice for coffee on the go, study sessions, or a coffee date. Try their quiche!

I’ve been coming here since I moved to Haddonfield and this is hands-down my favorite small town café — great place to study, to relax and have a cup of joe(or chocolate), or to just hang out with friends. The baristas are so down to earth and really nice — they always greet you when you come in! The coffee, lattes, and hot chocolate are delicious, and the baristas really know how to steam that milk so it’s nice and foamy. The baked goods can vary — sometimes they’re a little too dry. The environment has a woody/hipster modern vibe and there are both comfy couches and nice tables to work at, with soft enough music for people to do work.

I am really happy that Jersey Java is still around. I remember coming up here years ago in high school to get hot chocolates and work on Calculus homework. Thankfully, I am not doing any more calculus, and I recently made a trip back to find that it is still a great place to be. This is a very cozy café which is perfect for settling in and studying in. I particularly like their comfy couches, however they do show their age. All of their tea is loose leaf(very surprising!). Although the one I requested was out, they made me a custom blend that was really delicious. They also have a nice selection of goodies and snacks. I had the house-made granola with milk, which was a healthy and filling accompaniment to my tea. If I lived in the area, I would be a daily supporter of this small business!

I used to like coming here for coffee and studying, and supporting small business is always plus. The last time I was here, I came with a friend with the intent of having coffee and doing homework and proceeded to set myself up. As I reached for my laptop charger, with my fingertips barely three inches away from the plug, an apparition of a women that I presume owned the business snuck up behind me and shrilly told me, in an authoritarian manner that, «YOUCANTPLUGTHATTHERE. ITS A TRIPPINGHAZARD.» Fair enough, but you could have said it kindly and not condescendingly. Any business owner should know the basics of courtesy and customer service I also had a paper bag of a side order of fries from lunch that I had intended on eating to which she addressed, «you also can’t eat that here, because We Have Food Here That We Sell™» again, I understand that businesses have policies but she could have worded things in, at the very least, a fake nice way. I would have obliged and put the food away in my car. I also heard this woman talking about me and my friend audibly from the counter, loud enough that I’m sure the whole store could hear. Talk about rude and unprofessional. This woman obviously had issues with me since I had only started setting up my laptop and coursework, and did not yet get the chance to order anything. My wallet is thankful I did not order their mediocre and overpriced coffee I intended on buying, since I left immediately– with a gratuitous and passive aggressive«Have a nice day!!» Seriously? I will continue to support businesses that do not speak to and treat me condescendingly. I went to saxbys down the street and I’d suggest you do the same. They’re nice to me there.

I really dig this place. I dig the local vibes. I dig friendly, laid back staff. I dig baristas that actually know how to steam milk and achieve true microfoam. I dig espresso that isn’t bitter or acidic. I dig a coffeeshop that likes to showcase local talent(music, poetry, and art). I dig the plentiful, varied seating. I dig homemade pastries. [I dig that the pastry flavors change daily which actually tells me they’re homemade and turning over.] I dig homemade mocha syrup. Yeah, ok, some pastries don’t blow my mind as people have already said, but they do admittedly taste homemade in lovely imperfection. And that quiche looks so tempting. Seriously though, I think this is my favorite spot in Haddonfield.

I work just a few blocks away so I just walk over and am always greeted with welcoming smiles. Matthew gets my order right every time and is always so sweet! This is by far my favorite place to grab my afternoon pick me up espresso!

I really want to love this place, but they make it so hard. The past three times in a row I’ve been there, there has been some sort of ridiculous customer service issue that left me and whoever I was with super annoyed. Starting with the good: the coffee is delicious. The assortment of baked goods is great… quiche is yummy, etc. I’ve always loved the space… good mixture of comfy couches and real seating where people can sit and work on laptops. Plenty of outdoor seating on nice days. The prices are… steep. BUT I always feel good about supporting a local small business, so whatever. My real problem is the ‘tude and just general lack of professionalism that I’ve seen from the baristas. They clearly know their coffee, and that’s great, but here are some of the more ridiculous things that have happened to me there in the past month: –purchased coffee with my mom and went to add our cream and sugar. My mom realized the half and half container was empty and gave the guy behind the counter a head’s up. His answer: «Yeah, we’re actually out of half and half.» Everyone stared blankly at him, including the other people in line. Now mind you, it was before noon, not five minutes before they closed. No apology, no «I’m so sorry, we sent someone down the street to the 7 – 11(literally down the street) to pick some up, they should be back any minute.» That was it. The guy behind us asked, «is anyone going to get some more?» and the kid literally shrugged his shoulders and turned his back to us. Ummmmmm. As my mom said, when you charge people $ 8 for two coffees(one of which was just a drip coffee), I don’t think it’s too much to ask that you provide HALFANDHALFATYOURCOFFEESHOP. –another time I was there, a friend asked for her coffee extra hot, and then when it arrived just warm, she asked if they could nuke it in the microwave for a minute. She was very nice about it. The girl behind the counter, on the other hand, felt it necessary to explain in a condescending tone for five minutes that they«actually can’t put the coffee cups in the microwave» for some reason I now forget, and then reluctantly offered to add some hot water. Uhhhh. Homegirl. Could you maybe just take the coffee and solve the problem? Put it in a to go cup and microwave it? This doesn’t seem like THAT hard of a problem to solve, nor can I imagine it’s the first time someone has asked for their coffee extra hot. Again, everyone in line sort of looked at each other helplessly as this happened. –this is a small thing, but they have multiple sizes for every drink on their board, but then half of them apparently only come in one size? I know it’s a small issue, but you’d think it would occur to someone to change the menu so they don’t have to keep telling people(last time I was there it happened to both me and the woman behind me). Jersey Java owners, please give your baristas some basic lessons in customer service. Again, they know their coffee, and they’re generally nice until there’s ANY sort of minor hiccup, and then all basic common sense goes right out the window. Your coffee is too expensive for me to have some ordeal every time I go there. Oh, and buy more half and half.

Best cappuccino I’ve had in the area. Coffee from Square One, really good roaster. Iced coffee is great, not bitter stuff like you get at a lot of other places. One thing that I think sets it apart is the baristas seem knowledgeable and they’re always friendly as well.

Best coffee in town in town filled with coffee houses. Just had a terrific macchiato. Rich with good acidic balance. I always pass right by the local Charrbucks on my way here. There daily brews are worth trip when you want a great cup of coffee. Nice quiche and bakery selection too.

I really like Jersey Java! I’m not sure why so many people are giving sub-par reviews. I have never had a bad experience here, and I come often(almost every day). Since this place is only a 5 minute walk from my office, it’s usually my first choice when I need a mid-day coffee or snack. Plus, it is now the only mom-and-pop coffee shop in the area, and I would much rather support a local business than go to Starbucks or Saxby’s! The coffee is good, except the iced coffee can sometimes be a bit more bitter than I am used to. I’ve also had their homemade chai tea and it’s delicious! The service is great– everyone behind the counter is always very friendly. It does seem that there is a high turn-over rate, but it has never affected my experience negatively. The main reason I go to Jersey Java is for their baked goods and outdoor patio. They make their own pop tarts and they are unbelievably good! Plus, the seating outside is so cute and inviting with the hanging edison bulb lights and overgrown plants, it feels like your in a little jungle. I will continue to come here, and I hope the people that have been disappointed in the past will give this place another shot! Support your local businesses! :)

Im new to the area and I am so happy that we found Jersey Java & Tea. The coffee was great, the caprese grilled cheese with basil hit the spot and the couches make you feel like you’re at home. Not to mention they have Wi-Fi and sell wine that you can drink in shop, they even provide the glasses. Great place, we will be regulars!

My boyfriend and I love this place! We mainly love the espresso drinks. I’ve had the iced coffee and would not recommend it unless you’re used to independent coffee shop iced coffee. My normal is a soy latte and it is delicious. The people working are always so friendly and patient! My boyfriend has tried their espresso mixed with coke and did not like it, but not to say someone else won’t! He loves their plain lattes – hot or iced :)

I just found this place today! I absolutely love it here. Plenty of seating. Nice atmosphere. Close to home. And staff is really helpful and relaxed. The iced beverages are yummy too! Oh, I almost forgot to mention. They sell wine(by the bottle) that you can hang out and drink or take home with you. Tons of selections too! Very chill place. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Cozy and comfy for a small town coffee shop. They have the usual ‘coffee’ shop drinks… Capuccino, Americano, Latte, etc. The service was very nice. I actually asked what some of the drinks were(well) most of them because i’ve never heard of them, but they essentially gave classic drinks their own name. Two coffee drinks, a muffin and a bagel with cream cheese. It was acceptable. Nothing to blow you away, but well prepared. The muffin, however, was less than stellar. The couches and chairs were super comfy(nap worthy). Some people dislike the $ 10 cc min, but it’s understandable. cc machines require fees per order. I’d imagine they’d remove it if there was a ton of constant business, but this place seemed a bit slow. What I personally didn’t like were the prices of espresso. If you wanted to add a shot of espresso to another drink, you had to pay the full ‘espresso’ price which was $ 2++… even at starbucks they only charge $ 0.79 per shot. Courteous staff, hot coffee, just don’t go expecting to be blown away.

I just went here for the first time about an hour ago. I heard good things from friends, so I thought I’d check it out. The parking situation is on the street. Luckily I went while dark and not busy, so no dreaded parallel parking was necessary. The set up is: when you first walk in, the counter is in front of you. To the left, seating is mostly with tables and bar style. The right is more comfy with couches. The atmosphere is definitely five stars. Not too bright or dark lighting. Fun but not harsh colors. Comfy seating. Fireplace. Pretty chandelier. Very contemporary and trendy. If you think starbucks is too expensive, this place is not for you! It’s even pricer. My total was $ 10.40 for a slice of spinach quiche and a medium chai latte. At least starbucks would be under ten dollars. The food — there is an assortment of quiches: spinach, Lorraine(with bacon), red pepper, and breakfast. I got the spinach. It was okay, not worth the price. The egg and spinach layers were completely separated! A quiche is supposed to be cohesive. They also had assorted baked goods — bagels, biscuits, muffins, Danishes, and cake(peanut butter pound cake was there this night). My friend got a cheese Danish that should have been called a lemon Danish — super lemony taste, which she doesn’t like, so it was a waste. The cheese was very hard as well, not soft like your typical Danish filling. I’m a chai snob and connoisseur,(lol). I ordered a medium chai latte and found it was super thin and pretty bland. By comparison of nearby coffee shops, starbucks in haddonfield and the tree house café in Audubon do theirs sooooo much better. My friend got the hot chocolate and said it was okay. They put lots of whipped cream on top, so that was a plus. I saw the menu and they seem to offer a lot of teas and some different coffees. I think I will go back and try the tea instead, no food. They have wifi and accept credit cards. I appreciate the compostable and recycled drink containers! Overall, I’d say this is a comfortable study spot to hang out and get a cup of tea. Very cool atmosphere but lacking in the sustenance department. Almost gave them another overall star for atmosphere, but the food memory and prices justify the two star rating.
