This place is in my building and is a lifesaver. The salads are great– always fresh and of you don’t have time to cool dinner there’s always hot food on the steam table. I’ve had the chicken Francese and the sausge and peppers — both delicious. You do have to wait around– staff can be slow, but they’re super friendly and they try hard. They’re all fairly new so I’m sure that will improve.

Ordered a few times from this place and 3⁄5 times they messed up on my order. They can’t tell difference between roast beef and pastrami. I wasn’t gonna rate this place, but 3 screw-ups is ridiculous, especially when it comes to making a simple sandwich.

I frequent the gourmet pantry, mostly because I live in the building(The Excelsior) and its in walking distance. The Gourmet Pantry is never crowded and makes pretty good sandwiches. It is attached to The Restaurant and owned by the same people. The only downside but kind of upside is that they have gourmet bread so if you are looking for a sandwich on a regular role or plain bread, you can’t get it. They also have cooked food like grilled chicken, salmon, crabcakes, vegetables, etc so you can pick up dinner there also. Best part about living in the building is that they will even deliver it to you but for some strange reason it always takes a long time. Ask for Wilson, he’s the man.
