This restaurant manager is very rude and incompetent. I went one evening with my son to order a drink some appetizers. I waited for half hour, while the other people that just arrived was being served(at least 3 other patrons. When I approached the old guy(the manager) He yelled at me so loud, the people at the bar had noticed. I got so embarrassed, I got up and left without any rebuttal. Then later, as I was walking behind the kitchen, I saw 3 big rats running out of the kitchen area. I have now decided to never go there again. I do not think that place deserve my one star

I went here with my friend, I am an out of towner. It was a slower Sunday night, so the restaurant was super quiet. We were greeted by the host, who was friendly and cracking jokes. This is nice because I joke with a lot of sarcasm, as well. Out server, Anthony, was also super friendly and seemed down to earth. He joked around with us, as well. He was attentive, funny, helpful with the menu, and personable. I ordered the linguine with lobster tails, which was excellent. Not too much sauce(a good sauce to pasta ratio). My friend ordered the pasta with sausage and broccoli, which she loved. The food came out quickly, and very hot and fresh. The atmosphere was nice, decorated for the holidays. And the bathrooms were very clean, which is a plus. I would recommend this restaurant for those looking for good Italian, as well as friendly service.

3.5 stars. I came using the coupon as this place is expensive. Friendly and professional waiters. I first had the tomato, beet and arugula salad, very good. Next was the Chicken Francaise, thought it was yummy. Unfortunately I didn’t try any deserts but they had a large selection. Sat near large dance floor area, DJ started to play club music after 9PM. Around 10PM the music became ridiculously loud and the restaurant had more club like atmosphere with dancing, but the music was just way too loud and would’ve preferred more of a music mix. Drinks expensive, glass of draft beer was $ 7.00. Overall a nice night out. For this price I think the service could have been more attentive though.

I’ve had drinks and appys there. Service was ok — sometimes a bit slow. Elegant venue in a nice neighborhood + valet parking. Very friendly staff.

My first time trying Sunday brunch. It was delicious. Tons of varieties of food and desserts. Omelette station and very good service! I’m sorry I didn’t take photos ! So now I’ve had an event there, went for dinner and tried brunch. Never a complaint!

Went for Sunday brunch. Venue is nice. Had a nice variety and layout for the buffet. The waffles and pancakes were hard. French toast just soso. Best dish was the salmon. They stopped refilling wager glass toward the end and had to ask waiter to refill. Wasn’t really packed so wasn’t too difficult to get staff’s attention. Food overall was meh. Would not return.

Bel Posto is a beautiful venue and Italian restaurant. It has a very unique but also cozy and intimate atmosphere for any event. Last night, I went to a birthday party. The food, décor and service was great. I recommend this place.

Bel Posto is a restaurant that is located right in between the Twin Excelsior Apartment Buildings on Prospect Ave, I live right next to this restaurant. I remember we have catered from here and thew parties at the catering hall restaurant part of this place which were several sweet 16 birthday parties for several friends from school from my hometown in the past, this restaurant also has a bar and they’re the absolute best at every feature that they consist of. I sometimes go down 2 the deli here with my family for breakfast and lunch menu items and a cup of coffee along with that. The food and the service is good, but the prices are just unreasonable and expensive.

Went there for Sunday brunch. HORRIBLESERVICE. On top of that, they automatically add 20% gratuity to your bill, FORTHEBUFFET! You’re serving yourself. All they have to do is fill your water, clear your plates, and bring you new silverware, and they can’t even do that right. They’re basically bussing your table, for 20% of the meal you got yourself. We were a small group(5 ppl), and the 20% automatic gratuity was NOT posted on their website, menu, or anywhere else. Water glass was empty for most of the meal. The one time they cleared my plate, they took my dirty, syrupy knife and fork off the plate, and put it right on the table cloth, rather than bring new ones. You want coffee? Good luck. You want tea? Hope you like Lipton black, because that’s all they have. No wonder this place literally can only fill 3 tables at lunch. They’re always empty, must somehow survive on weddings and parties. Won’t be back, but don’t expect them to be around too long anyway.

After arriving home(we live in building) from JFK, we decided to try Bel Posto again since no one wanted to get back in a car. The last time we dined here was in mid December 2014 — what a difference ! The food this time was excellent — fresh, lots of flavor & low on the salt. The change in Chef(good call) really shows & we will definitely dine here more often. I’m withholding last star because of cheesy DJ music that interfered with end of dinner(we didn’t order dessert or coffee).

Friendly, welcoming, warm, attentive — these are just some of the things one would never, ever, ever, ever say about the waitstaff at this place. The food was fine. But there’s not a lot of food which would have been good enough to bring the experience up to «good». Like lots of other people, we found ourselves literally flagging down waitstaff. I felt like a matador.

Meh… fancy layout, but food was mediocre at best. The calamari was greasy and my $ 28 seafood stew was terrible. I won’t be returning.

My Husband I Went To Bel Posto with a Groupon Coupon. I bought it Because It Said That They Have Entertainment . What a Great Night We Had. Our Groupon Came with 1 Shared Appitizer, 2 Entrees, and a Shared Desert . We Alway Order an Addtional Appetizers & Desserts Well this Resturant Was Far Beyond Our Expectations . The Food WASOUTSTANDINGASWASTHESERVICE. Our Appitizers Were Large Enough To Share, But I Still Would Have Ordered My Own. I Had The Cheese & Fruit App. It Was Outstanding As Was My Husband Calamari . Both Our Entrees and Desserts Were Excellent, And The Entertainment was the Icing On The Cake. We Got Up and Danced In Between Courses, and After Coffee This Is a Great Place to Go For A Romantic Evening. We Will Be Returning for Valentines Day, and I Can’t Wait. It Is Hard To Find a Resturant Woth Both Excellent Food, and Ambiance. With Bel Posto We Hit The Jackpot. One More Thing. The Wait Staff Was Not Only Helpful, But Also Very Pkeasent. I’m Hopeing That Valentines Day is Just as Wonderful. One Thing I Think You Must Call For Reservations, and Ask For a Later Dinner Service So You Can Enjoy The Live Entertainment. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Bel Posto is a place that has an identity problem. Is it a cheesy dance club? Or is it a fine dining establishment. I prefer that Bel Posto stick to the latter. I mean, you can be one or the other. Just not both… right? I came here to celebrate my birthday. My date heard about the food and thought it would be nice way to spend the evening. So I was naturally excited to try a new place. Buckle up… this ride is going to be a bumpy ride. AMBIANCE: We pulled up to the main entrance and were greeted by a valet parking attendant. I gave him my key fob… he gave me a ticket. Walking through the doors, we were greeted by a friendly face and were told that there was a party upstairs and they would seat us in the dining room on the main floor. It was nice… I mean, the dining room was very inviting! The DJ softly played various standards from the Great American Songbook. The lights were dim… the drinks were ordered… the mood was set… at least for now. More to follow below… FOOD: I don’t have any complaints about the food. I only wish that I took some photos… but for fine dining, I thought I’d pass. We split the Caprese appetizer, which was nicely plated and served exactly as I expected. My date ordered the Ravioli Pomodoro. You can tell that everything was made fresh… and the dish did NOT disappoint. I had the Seafood special which had a nice selection of shellfish, served with a broth that would’ve been better if accompanied with pasta. Nevertheless, the fish was cooked perfectly and the flavors were spot on. Then THIS happened. SERVICE: Not ONCE did the wait staff check to see how things were. Finding anyone to come by and refresh our drinks was a challenge. In fact, when we were trying to pay the bill, I had to wave my arms as if we were stranded on an island trying to flag down a search/rescue plane. And even after we received the bill, NOBODY came to collect it. Nearly 20 minutes later, I actually got up and walked the bill to the maitre d’ and said that I just wanted to pay the bill so we could leave. Once we FINALLY paid, the valet attendant brought up the WRONG car! So if the food and ambiance were great, why am I only giving 2 stars? About halfway through our dinner, the DJ switched up the music and played a variety of dance music, including 3 consecutive Michael Jackson songs from different eras. It’s not that I found it strange, but the mixes were sloppy. For the rest of the night, the DJ lacked any transition skills. He would stop a song about 2⁄3 in… dead air… and then start a new song. Really? Oh, then the wait staff(again, this is about midway through our dinner) moved the tables from the center of the dining room to reveal what appeared to be a dance floor. This is where things got REALLY interesting! Various customers came down from the bar to dance, including a middle-aged woman who I’ll bet was a stripper when she was younger(judging on her provocative/suggestive dance moves)…REALLY? At Bel Posto? I’ll even hazard to say that she looks at brass poles differently than the rest of us. I wasn’t sure if I should look away or dig in my wallet for singles. OKOK… it’s unfair for me to rate Bel Posto based on the patrons. However, had the DJ kept the music at a low«dinner music» level and if the wait staff was more attentive, I would have given this place 4 stars.

The waiter must have given me a regular cappuccino instead of the decaf that I asked for. I know this because I have a two year old and pass out every single night, but it is 4AM and I am wide awake, which means I’m completely in trouble tomorrow. This is actually a huge mistake on the restaurant ‘s part. If I had a heart condition they would have a law suit on their hands. Food was good. Service was nice but extremely slow.

Bel Posto has some good and bad elements. But overall I would recommend it for several reasons. The deli has amazing sandwiches. It opens at 6am and the breakfast sandwiches are fantastic. Even just the bagels are tasty. The lunch sandwiches are just the same. Occasionally you will run into some staff issues and I could see how that may be a deterrent. For me, it’s not often enough to warrant a bad review. The dinner is expensive but it’s worth it. The wait staff is knowledgable and my mouth waters just thinking about all the delicious entrees. I am never disappointed when I go to dinner at bel posto. However it does put a dent in your wallet. And then there is the bar. It’s a nice bar with a nice staff as well. Elegant but not snobby. Overall I’m so glad to have found this place so close to home.

We arrived at 2pm for brunch and all the items were cold and looked like they had been sitting out for a long while. They do have a good spread of items for brunch(eggs, bacon, sausage, meats and cheese board, and a variety of breads). There was no one at the omelets stations and no one offered to make fresh omelets. Salmon was very, very dry and tasted like it had been sitting out all morning. The carving station meat looked really dry also, though we didn’t get to try it since no one was present to serve and no one offered. The best item on the buffet was the penne a la vodka. Coffee was decent as well. The bathroom is part of a humid and muggy hallway which was really strange. What was really annoying was that they picked up the buffet and didn’t even bother to ask if we wanted anything else. Also, they charged us a mandatory $ 10 gratuity since we visited with a Living Social. This was not stated on the living social. $ 10 gratuity on a buffet!!! That is insane!
