This place is closed for good unfortunately. Enjoyed it while it was open. I wonder if the location had anything to do with it closing?

My wife, daughter and I were out shopping at Gurnee Mills when we decided to meet up with a friend of my wife’s that lives near Kenosha and Julia’s seemed like the perfect place to meet. If there is any negative to this place it is the location. It is on the north bound side of route 41, which makes it difficult to get to if you’re driving south. Plus, it is attached to a little strip mall/gas station; which may scare off a first date, but is perfect for a family outing, a quick bite or a simple date night with the Mrs. First, they have high chairs for the parents out there and plenty of seating if you’re looking to bring out the whole clan. The staff was amazing. They kept my daughter entertained and everyone came by to see her and say hello. It was like we were visiting family. As far as the food goes, it was excellent. We had a pizza and a beef and my wife’s friend had a dog with fries. The beef was a perfect combination of pepper and garlic which went well with cheese and giardinara. My only regret was that I didn’t add marinara; which would have sent it over the edge. The pizza has a nice buttery crust with a good sauce and the perfect amount of cheese; enough to taste it and not so much that you choke on it. The sausage was well portioned and tasty. All in all it was a good combination of ingredients and flavors. So, in short Julia’s was good meal at an affordable price with a great staff and well worth the hassle of navigating route 41.

Stopped in on the way home. Picked up a pizza. Hot, crispy, very tasty. Love the sauce. The crust is also excellent. A little hard to get into on 41 if you are headed south, but worth the effort. very enjoyable and I will return.

Love this place. Tried for the first time. Sauce was outstanding. The gnocchi is homemade and excellent. The pizza is, as promised, indeed the best in Gurnee. Will support this family owned establishment and highly recommend that you give the place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Located in a gas-station based strip-mall — I was unsure as to what to expect. Because it is located on a divided highway, you have to be in the north-bound in order to visit… and have to exit in the same manner. The menu seemed promising… back story speaks of Italian heritage… so since I knew I would be traveling past the facility, so I decided to place an order prior to leaving home — 16″ cheese and sausage… extra crispy. Place has a few tables, was promptly greeted, order was hot and ready for my pre-specified pick-up time. Paid about $ 15.50, and headed onto my destination(watch the Hawks in the Stanley Cup playoffs). Arrived at my buddies home, opened up the pizza box… and saw a fairly plain pizza — grabbed a square, which was not extra-crispy as I had ordered. The taste of the crust was good, and it was thin, just not crisp! The sauce was a little bland, and the sausage was as well. Really just an average pizza — doubtful that I would head back — many other, more flavor friendly options to choose from. the place offers beefs, lasagna as well. Oh well, was hoping for a diamond in the rough, and with a few tweaks and I could see this moving up to 3.5 stars.
