In Florida for 4 days and by day 3 I was craving pizza. Papa’s was recommended to us but the Unilocal reviews weren’t terribly great, so we were nervous about going. What in the hell was there to be nervous about? The pizza was absolutely wonderful and the staff(on a slammed Friday night) could not have been any nicer. This is a great place to grab a quick, tasty, affordable bite. Will definitely be back!

So this place advertises delivery. If you call the listed number, they refer you to a third party delivery service. This is fine unless this said named service doesn’t answer. First call — on hold briefly then disconnected. Almost as if I was hung up on. Immediately called back and was on hold for 15 minutes. How does this happen? I’ll tell you how. Poor management and terrible employees. That’s the only combination that will completely inhibit someone from forking over money for pizza. I called back to the pizza place and the employee was very apologetic and stated that this was a recurring problem. She took my name/number and was thankful that I wanted to voice my displeasure with the owner. Here is the hitch — the owner never called. I guess this marginal pizza place contracts a worthless third part delivery company and is fine with it. Most of the people that order from the beach are one and done, disposable customers. Keep being a worthless service and see how far that gets you. I welcome a public response from the owners of both companies in question. At best, it would make some unsuspecting tourist think about giving it a try against my advice and despite my terrible experience . Let me say that I’m not rating the pizza at this place. If you put raw tomatoes and cheese on a piece of fucking paper and get it to me before I fall asleep you automatically get 2 stars. You can only rate the food if you are actually able to acquire food.

Of course it’s overpriced, you’re in a tourist trap. However, the chick who answered the phone was rude and laughed when I asked if they haf specials. The pizza was just OK. The breadsticks were pitiful hard and tasteless. No dipping sauce. Tossed them out. Waste of money. Yankee pizza blows this crap AWAY!

First off… they don’t deliver. A third party called delivery dudes will deliver for you but it will cost you! The pizza was marginal. Sauce was a little too oily for my taste and the toppings and cheese were sparse. They only have extra large pizzas and the slices are huge… think New York pizza. The crust was good but that’s about it for me. I’m a deep dish Chicago pie lover so this was a disappointment for me.

I head to Papa’s every time I’m in Pensacola! Nothing fancy, they’re just really good at what they do — being a low-key pizza parlor with great slices of pizza and cold beer on tap.

Great NY style pizza! Awesome! If you like thin crust NY style pizza this is your place. We liked it so much the other day we are having it again tonight!

Good pizza! Definitely NY style, which we love. We got spaghetti as well, which was lacking enough sauce and no Parmesan cheese.

Perfect for a quick slice or 2 and a drink. Not to mention it’s right across from Bamboo Willie’s so sit outside, enjoy the music and grab a beer or drink!

Being from the north, I know what GOOD pizza is. This is the closest that I can found down here in the south! It is amazing hands down and worth the drive to get it! Plus, who doesn’t want to have slice of pie on the beautiful beach!

Yum. Do you need more than that? We visit Pensacola once a year and this is the first time we have had pizza. We ordered from Papa’s Pizza on a recommendation from a worker at Portofino. The pizza was really, really good. We were very pleased with the quality and the taste. This pizza is worth the cost. All we had was one extra large pizza and it was perfect. The seasonings were spot on. We will be back next year.

I’m disgusted by how terrible their service is. We literally called over and over again because we ordered our pizza for delivery at 7 P.M. and didn’t get it until 10:15 P.M. and it was freezing cold. They acted like we were crazy, didn’t return our calls and treated us like idiots… Don’t order anything from this place! It isn’t worth it.

Staying at the days inn beach front and wanted some nearby pizza. Pensacola isn’t over run by pizza shops, so seeing one this nearby to the hotel was great! Ordered a large pepperoni pizza, because I don’t ever live food adventurously. Wasn’t very busy today and the food came out right away. Tasted great! Highly recommended.

We waited FOREVER for our pizza to get here, but it was Saturday and crowded. A bit pricey, but it’s on the boardwalk. If you want pizza near the beach, choose this place.

This place def has the best pizza. Very NY style, thin crust, and delicious. We got a greek salad which was yummy and a pepperoni and mushroom pizza which left me wanting more. You can order by the pizza or the slice. There is limited seating inside but i think you can sit outside as well. You can def order delivery or to go too. Loved this place, it def it my pizza taste buds.

The original Papas on Pensacola Beach! My kids beg to go here every week! We usually get takeout in the summer when the beach is crowded. Huge NY style pizza! Even the plain cheese pizza is good! My wife prefers the Stromboli. Perfect for the kiddos!

Pizza was great! Girl with the green hair was patronizing and seemed put off that we came in 45 mins before closing time. She cleaned up some of the beverage dispensers before closing and when my pregnant wife asked for a cup of water, she was told that it might taste like bleach since it had just been cleaned. HUH!!! We passed on the bleach water. Pizza was really good though! I’d go back.

Best pizza in the panhandle??? Nope. not even close. Here’s how to get a two-star review: one: someone tells you this is the best pizza in the area. and so with high expectations and rumbly tummies you and your family go early on Friday night, to beat the dinner rush. No rush. two: kind of funky, beachy ambiance and limited seating. On the beach, that’s probably not a problem in summer, but who eats pizza in summer? three: the pizza is pretty authentic NY style thin crust, a tad on the greasy side and nothing really spectacular and nobody at my pizza table raves. This isn’t brick oven after all. And it’s a bit on the expensive side for what you get. Four: Boring and tiny menu: So there’s just about nothing on the menu for those of us NOT eating pizza. Left with few choices, I ordered a la carte meatballs which as an Italian, they looked like the small frozen ones you buy at the store.(smaller than a ping-pong ball). Neither of them were warm enough either. **gack**I was not happy to pay $ 3.50 for a couple ounces of meat. The sauce however, was delicious. With no side salad option to fill out my sparse plate and even emptier stomach, I left just about as hungry as I was when I went in. *sniff*

On our last night in Pensacola Beach, we just wanted a pizza to have with a bottle of wine at the hotel, while watching the Sunday night game. We called in an order and I made the short trip to pick it up. We always order Italian sausage and green olive(or Kalamata). We like the vinegar and salt that the olives bring. We also always ask for the cheese to be browned. That is baked and not just melted. The pizza was acceptable and it is something we would do again. It is billed as New York Style. The crust is thin-ish, but not cracker thin. It was a little soft, but not soggy and was nicely chewy. The outer rim is fairly large, but edible like a soft bread stick. The cheese was good rubbery mozzarella and was reasonably browned. The green olives were plentiful but did not make the pizza too salty. The sausage was mediocre. We had to debate whether it was Italian. At times we thought we could taste sage, which is a no-no. Fennel flavor was minimal. The sausage is applied in marble sized pellets. With better sausage this could be bumping into four star range.

Pros: — you can get ONE slice of pizza and have it customized — neat location on the Quietwater Beach Boardwalk opposite Pensacola Beach — friendly service Cons: — that solitary slice of pizza will cost you — this boardwalk is so popular that it can be crowded and parking, which is free, can be a hassle Neutral: — the pizza itself was just ok Verdict: — three stars
