Key Lime Pie. Need I say more? If you haven’t been here yet… GO!!! Food is great too, but the huge Key Lime Pie is definitely a winner!

Atmosphere is nice! I like a little less crowded so at first I was apprehensive but it was relaxing and the weather was nice outside. All the food I had was great!!! We had the spinach shrimp dip to start which was tasty and my husband had the chowder which he enjoyed(esp for not being a big seafood person or soup person). I ordered the fried fish which came with hush puppies(spicer than I expected but very good) fries(which were crispy and cooked perfectly, some of the best fries I have ever had at a restaurant. And the fish was cooked perfectly and flaky. And for people that like coleslaw and can’t find the right kind… They have the best! Chopped small with the right flavor! Highly recommend their food!

Flounder’s chowder house was perfect! The atmosphere was great and the service was over the top! I had the beer batter shrimp… which I highly recommend. My husband had the filet mignon… perfection…just the right amount of seasoning. The homemade coleslaw is to die for!

When I head to the beach, I usually like to stop by here for a couple drinks and some food. The food is good but our server was funny and entertaining. You must have a diesel fuel while you’re hanging out there. They usually have live music and there’s a volleyball area on the side of the restaurant.

Party of 11. we got sat in about 20 minutes on a Friday night at about 7:20. Great service, friendly waitress. Ordered the mahi mahi with citrus buerre blanc sauce and mashed potatoes. Comes with asparagus too and a mango salsa. Super good! I wanted the sauce on everything. Great place, would definitely go back if I wasn’t just visiting the area.

The food, scenery, and service were excellent! Sat outside with a view of the ocean and people playing volleyball. I enjoyed onion rings and the Cobb salad with shrimp… very delicious and filing. A great place to dine and sit outside.

Flounder’s Chowder House is a delicious restaurant with great service. I got these items and both were delectable: 1) Calamari — Flash Fried Fresh-Caught Squid served with Marinara Sauce and sprinkled lightly with Parmesan Cheese 2) Flounder’s Classic Stuffed Flounder — Boneless Flounder Filets loaded with Crab Imperial, topped with Citrus Buerre Blanc. Served with choice of New Potatoes, Smashed Potatoes OR Flash Fries and Asparagus The prices are a little on the steeper side for what you get, but the flavors and presentation make this place worth going to. I really liked how the calamari was served with a toppled over frying-basket, and the flounder in a sizzling pan. If you’re ever around Pensacola Beach(finishing the day at the beach or fishing), this is an awesome dinner place I’d recommend for drinks and well-prepared food.

So I walked into this place to have a drink and some dinner. It reminded me of an old ship with all the wood and nautical stuff. Sat down at the bar, and ordered the Diesel Fuel, which is their take on a fruit punch Long Island. Anyways, I wanted to order the Shrimp Boat Platter, but the bar tender was like«look, if that’s what you want, you can have it. But I would recommend the Red Snapper. Came in fresh today.» So I took his advice, and DAMN, it was amazing. Not just saying that. It was wonderful. I had it with potatoes and asparagus, just the way he told me to get it. I got the Snapper blackened, not fried. I attached a picture of the plate. This is some of the freshest fish I have ever had. And it was $ 21.99, I believe. If you come out here, order whatever the fresh catch of the day is.

Went tuere last night(saturday) in a party of 4. Was seated immediately(weird considering the parking lot was packed). I will take it though. Nice beachy feel. Uneaven wooden floors and walls. The décor had a lot of off the wall items. What we ate… We ordered the tropical diesel fuels. You get to keep the plastic jar as a souvenir. Appetizers: dozen raw oysters(large) & calamari(huge portion). They also bring you hit complimentary bread rolls. For dinner: mahi mahi tacos(bring your appetite), 2-crab stuffed shrimp scampi(special), flounder stuffed with crab. All were really good. Nothing to complain about. No room for dessert. After eating, we all went out on the beach and sat next to the propane fire pit. Just wish a server would have came out for drink requests. 4 stars because of no beach drink requests on their beach, overall cleanliness was so-so, bathrooms didn’t look like they had been checked on in a while. ****weird side note**** for some strange reason, there was a bottle of mouthwash in the bathroom. Dont know if this is the norm. No cups to pour it into. Wonder how many people use this thing.

I just had the snapper and it was mouthwatering. So so good. Wow. Friendly place. I sat at the bar and ShuBob helped me out. He was great with making suggestions. So glad I stopped in

Setup: group trip’s night out The good: pretty efficient seating system, large parking lot, bar close to the front for people waiting, large kid’s play area, decent food, large portions, live band The bad: TOURISTY. Sitting by the volleyball court can be hazardous. A ball flew over and knocked over some of our drinks — the staff didn’t seem particularly concerned about our welfare(or wet dishes) and even though there was an empty court available, no one asked the kids to move until we got a manager. Observations: food is good, largely in part due to freshness of local seafood. Between the playground, volleyball, live band, etc. it can be very chaotic and so loud you can’t hear yourself think. Overall recommendation: A good option for groups with kids, frat kids, and those looking for live music. Which is to say — not my usual preferred crowd.

Poorly executed food in large amounts. Onion rings, frozen from a bag. Chowder was ok. Key lime pie, bigger than your shoe and just as tasty. Sauce has the same texture as spot on your third day of the flu, color does not occur in nature, nor does the flavor. Middle layer of pie is dyed green, but has the same lack of flavor as the other layers. Topping is non-dairy whipped topping, and sadly not the most disgusting thing on the plate. Quantity over quality, ‘Merica!

So we find ourselves in PCola and finally off of the food coma from Thanksgiving. My girl wants fish — and being that it’s Friday and we are near the ocean, how could it resist? We travel to Pensacola Beach and are greeted by the cutest senior citizen at the toll booth. He takes our $ 1 and off we go… a few minutes later we arrive at Flounders. It’s a cool November evening, however they have indoor seating. Some people are outside and there are some kids playing on the playground. Good for them. For us, it’s warm inside baby. Shrimp, Bacon Mac & Cheese — I like that the cheese doesn’t overtake the flavor of the dish itself; the blend is melty with pieces of bacon and whole shrimp, cherry tomatoes, green onion — topped with bread crumbs in a cast iron dish. It’s so big that not even the two of us could finish it. Flounders Fresh Fried Favorites — Fried everything and a bed of fries! Fish like I was longing for — slightly spicy seasoning, great crunch, flaky inside, with fried oysters and shrimp. Sure, there are a lot of Fitbit steps ahead of me to work this off, but I only get to FL about once a year. There are a lot of great sounding adult beverages on the menu for the tourists interest(I was the driver, so I’ll just have to try some of those next time.) Lastly, the«5» is really for Faith who took care of us — she was attentive, personable, and helpful in every way. She anticipated our needs and made the cool evening warmer.

Flounders is a PB institution. This indoor outdoor restaurant/bar has a volleyball court with a beach of the bay side of the island. The atmosphere of this place reminds you of a beach hangout where you go to, have fun with your friends, eat and drink, play sports and listen to live music outside. They serve good food in large portions for price points in the high teens $ and 20’s $ range for the most part. I have enjoyed every visit over the many years I have come to PB. On my most recent visit I went with something new to me which was a shrimp and bacon pasta dish. Also I ordered one of their Diesel Fuel drinks this time in mango. They are served in large mayo jars that used to be glass but are now plastic. They are a nice souvenir of your visit. My drink arrived first along with a basket of their excellent bread rolls and butter. That bread really hits the spot being so fresh and soft. It really helps to soak up, the diesel fuel drink! ha! About 15 minutes later the pasta dish came out. It had many half dollar sized and quater sized shrimp in the pasta. And bacon never hurts to add to anything so this meal was very good and filling. There were also small tomatoes sliced in half in this dish. My table service was good. I found out during this visit that Flounders and Crabs(both on PB) and McGuirre’s located in Pensacola are all owned by the same company. All 3 of those places are very good places to go eat. It figures! Like I said if you come to PB you have to come by Flounder’s Chowder House for lunch or dinner.

This is my mother’s FAVORITE seafood place(along with Peg Leg Pete’s) that we must stop at when visiting Pensacola Beach annually. Her and my father have been taking me here for almost 25 years. Plenty of tables inside and outside seating areas including benches covered and high tops uncovered closer to the water. There is a small bar inside and a gift shop. Perfect place for large groups and families. Located on the soundside, has a fun pirate ship/jungle gym for kids to climb and play on. Includes a sand volleyball court. They apparently have all sorts of fun shenanigans late at night. The Po Boys are large and delicious. The calamari comes with banana peppers and is big enough to share for 3 or 4. Drinks are fun and«exotic». The menu is pretty basic, but it’s all you need. The entrees are on the pricier end $ 15 and up. We typically come here for lunch. It is your perfect«touristy» idea of a beach restaurant, and located within walking distance of the beach and the boardwalk.

5 Stars because I can’t find anything to complain about. If anything, it’s too good to be true! I heard good things about Peg Leg Pete’s, but I wanted to discover my own little gem while on a business trip to Pensacola. So I Unilocaled and came across Flounder’s. To be honest, the pictures of their key lime pie really closed the deal for me. I jumped in my rental minivan and made my way over the bridge in the quest to find some amazing seafood and that dessert! Pro tip: use google maps to find their location. Somehow the apple maps app led me to the middle of nowhere. Once I got here, I could totally feel the seafood vibe I was looking for. The hostess walked me to the back and led me to a big booth facing the water. It’s a beautiful day and was excited to discover their Monday specials include $ 2.50 margaritas all day! Your waiter will be happy to tell you all about their daily drink specials. In fact, my waiter was just happy about everything she talked about in reference to the restaurant. 5 Stars for her, too! I ordered the fish tacos, and to my surprise, was blown away by their size and flavor! I only managed to eat 2 of the 3 tacos. They were lightly fried so their taste was not compromised by any means. I’m in fish taco heaven! Let’s make every day Taco Tuesday! And because I just had to, I ordered the key lime pie. Again — WOW! I knew I couldn’t finish it, but just had to order to experience the presentation and all. It’s three layers of key lime goodness; definitely meant to be shared. It’s everything I expected and more. My waitress was simply amazing. She even packed some plastic silverware to go because she knew I’d want to nibble at it once I was back in my hotel room. Along with providing additional dining recommendations, she was beyond sweet and attentive. I will note that I was here during their low season, but even when accommodating for potentially 800 people, and given a wait time of over 1 hour during their high season… I would definitely come back!

Erica, our server, was the best part about the meal. She was genuine, friendly, and helpful, and if it weren’t for her I might be holding back one of these stars. Sadly, the food did not live up to the hype. Here’s a list of things I tried: Blue Marlin drink: This was actually really good. It tasted like an alcoholic blue Popsicle and packed a nice punch. Drinks are actually really fairly priced given the restaurant’s touristy location. Signature Flounder Chowder: Absolutely delicious. Lots of seafood in the chowder and a rich creamy taste, not unlike clam chowder found in the northeast. This and the complimentary rolls were my favorite things I ate. Onion Rings appetizer: The onion rings were OK, not the best I’ve ever had. Firecracker Shrimp appetizer: Again OK, but nothing special. Tastes almost exactly like the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill. Yellowfin Tuna with Lemon Beurre Blanc: This was somewhat of a disappointment. I specifically ordered my tuna as rare as possible, and while you could definitely see pink, I’ve had rarer tuna. The seasoning they used was very peppery, which I found kind of odd for Tuna. The lemon beurre blanc was boring and did little to complement/highlight the flavor of the tuna. The mashed potatoes that were served with it were kind of clumping together, they weren’t smooth. The asparagus was asparagus. One annoyance: It was almost 100 degrees outside so we asked to sit inside, and inside where we were sitting there was little to no ventilation whatsoever, providing little relief from the outside heat. The staff did what they could but this is clearly a design flaw. Annoying. I’d come back if others insisted, but there are lots of restaurants in Pensacola Beach.

I really liked this place we went to. By the sound of the reviews and my other friends going to this place, it is hit and miss to have either great service or poor service. I had great service and even told the Manager how great our service was. We heard they had pretty good food and good drinks to try like their infamous Diesel Fuel. They have I believe 6 different flavored varieties and I got the Blue lightning which was good. It wasn’t too sweet or too strong. I got my raw oysters and they were huge! very tast food and quick to get our order in and receive it. The ambiance was relaxing. I am definitely coming here again if and when we come to Pensacola, FL.

Not a bad stop when you want some drinks and good apps. It feels like the place where the college kids stop by during Spring Break. I’m not against that but you have to be in the mood for it. Definitely get the Baked oysters Pensacola style — 15.99– these are amazing. They grind up the oysters and add savory spices and breading then bake them. The results is the best appetizer in the restaurant. Everyone, on the strip offers a variation of these but Flounder’s has figured out a way to season them just right and stuffed them to the max. I also tried the Bacon Shrimp Mac Cheese — $ 18.99. The pasta was al dente and it was very cheesy. We enjoyed this dish very much. Every time I got a bite of bacon, it was pure heaven. Plenty of large shrimp too. Fire Cracker Shrimp $ 11.99 — Skip these, I didn’t care for the spicy sauce on these though my friend thought they were ok. I would say these are hit or miss. Now the diesel fuel drinks were pretty good. We tried the tropical flavor(which tasted citrusy) and the mango. The mango was definitely better, it was reminiscent of being on an island which is exactly what you want when you come here. On Thursday these drinks are ½ off so instead of $ 10 they are $ 5. They are served in mason jars as big as your head which you get to take home. They aren’t too strong and sure aren’t weak, just right I would say. Overall they get 4 stars because compared to everyone else on the strip, they learned to do it right. They offer signature dishes and plentiful servings too.
